146 The gambit

"I warned you that your queen is in trouble," he said with a chuckle. His hands moved on the board and cut off my queen easily with a weak pawn.

"Oh no! I thought you were bluffing", I said unhappily.

"You want it back?", he asked me. Was he serious? There is no way we can get back once we lost one.

"Are you serious? Won't it be too risky? With queen I may win", I asked him.

"I'm a businessman I love risks", he said leaning back. We were in my room playing aimless chess. I used to be a winner back when I used you play chess. But now I have some stiff competition it seems. My distraction when he opened a few buttons of his shirt cost me, my queen. But now I'm very much focused on the game. No more distractions.

I had put my queen back and undid my last move. I was back on winning and I was about to make a critical move when he started to undo the rest of his buttons. My eyes refused to stay on the board no matter how much I willed.

"What are you doing?", I asked him.

"It is hot in
