Chapter 172

“It’s One”, Amelia heard from the other end of the phone call and for a minute, she thought that she just heard wrongly.

She looked at the strange number on the screen and took in a calm breath to relax her raging heart.

“Hello! How can I help you”, Amelia answered bluntly, not wanting to give her a hint of how tensed she was beginning to feel at the moment.

The line was silent for a couple of minutes, after which One suddenly started laughing hysterically.

“Is there a problem? Why would you call me and decide to start laughing instead?” Amelia asked with a massive frown on her face. She had no idea of what One was driving at, but she could say that she was not interested.

“You should know that there is a problem, Eleven. You created the problem”, One joked and broke into another round of laughter.

“I’m not Eleven anymore! I would advise that you call me by my real name!” Amelia said defiantly, with her fist clenched and her breath becoming uneven.
