Chapter 117

Alexander’s Pov

The minute I set eyes on her, my heart melted, and my soul longed for her. She was there, standing with the man I detested, and gazing at the ground as though she were alone in the entire world.

Inasmuch as I tried to withhold my emotions, they finally got the better part of me. I rushed over to her and took a closer look at her entire being, wondering what her life since the past two days must have been like.

“Are you hurt? Did he hurt you anywhere?” I asked again, with a cracked and barely audible voice.

She took in a deep breath and shook her head negatively, still trying so hard to avoid my gaze.

Once I was confident that she was fine as she had said, I shifted my gaze back to Grey, who was beginning to run out of patience.

“You didn’t have to do what you did. She is innocent and the best you would have done was leaving her out of our issue!” I declared defiantly as I walked over to Grey, who rolled his eyes at me and chuckled in sarcasm.

“Give me the treasure an
