Chapter 7

'' Please don't do this.'' I pleaded, but it went on deaf ears. He gnashed his teeth, and I shut my eyes as I waited for the pain to surge through me when he pushed the tool in, but I was shocked when none of that happened.

Rather, he groaned, and I felt something placed on me; opening my eyes, I realized he had just covered me up with a blanket.

Looking ahead, I saw him striding towards the door, then he pushed it open, and walked back into the room, followed by Beta Wren. He might have knocked, but I didn't hear it due to how frightened I was.

'' What brings you, here?'' He asked and sat down on the chair, then picked up a bottle of drink and poured it into the glass.

Beta Wren glanced at me, and Darien followed his gaze, and our eyes locked for a moment.

'' If you don't mind, my Lord. I'd like us to speak in private.'' Wren replied with a slight bow, and I watched the Alpha lick his bottom lick.

He sighed loudly and said in a low tone, '' Lead the way.''

'' Yes my lord.'' Wren began to head towards a room, and sluggishly, Darien got up and followed behind.

My mouth curved into a smile when I noticed how visible and huge his bulge had become.

No wonder he asked Beta Wren to lead the way, he's hiding it. My heart filled with excitement as I realized that at least I'd done something to him that made him feel ashamed.

I waited in the room for hours, but I didn't see a glimpse of anyone. I began to wonder if everything was alright, and curiosity took the best of me.

I shook my hands, trying to loosen up the chains. To my surprise, it loosened up, and I quickly dashed out of bed.

Fear gripped me instantly, as I thought of Darien. What if he appears now? How am I going to escape wrath?

It's a great opportunity for me to run away. But I found myself worrying about him. I decided to find out if they were still in the room, but when I got closer to the door and eavesdropped, I didn't hear any sound.

I decided to run and leave, but as I turned around, something slipped into my mind. I turned to the door again and pushed it open slowly.

I poked in my head at first and looked around. There were so many doors, but one of them caught my attention the most.

The room with a signpost, '' Prohibited.''

I began to wonder why it was restricted, and since there seemed to be one around, I decided to go have a look.

''It could be that innocent people are locked up there.'' I thought and shut the door behind me.

I began to tiptoe to the room but stopped abruptly when I heard footsteps approaching.

I didn't know where it was coming from, but one thing that crossed my mind was that a person could appear from one of the doors.

My heart beat rapidly against my chest as I glanced around, searching for a place to hide, but there was none. Just when the door knob turned, I sighted a box across the room and quickly rushed towards it, even though I knew it was too little to shield me.

'' Prepare the weapons, gather our men, we are leaving at once.'' His deep voice sounded in my ears, and just as I expected, he strode out of the room with papers in his hand, followed by Beta Wren.

My breath caught in my throat as he stopped in front of the door and turned to Beta Wren.

'' Write and inform them we are equal to the tasks.'' I heard him say, and Beta bowed his head slightly and responded.

'' Yes my lord.''

Darien opened the door and walked out, and Wren followed closely behind him.

I let out a sigh of relief and left my hiding place. My heart sank in my chest when I remembered that I was supposed to be in the room until he returned.

'' That bitch! Do you think you can escape from me? I'll surely deal with you.'' I heard him roar, and soon I heard a door slammed shut.

My body began to shake violently. What have I gotten myself into?

I hurried towards the door and pushed it to open, but it wouldn't bulge. '' What's happening?

I panicked, and my face turned pale. After a fruitless effort, I realized that the door was locked from the outside.

''What am I going to do now?'' I began to pace around the room, and suddenly an idea slipped into my mind.

I went from one door to another. Believing there's one that would lead outside. Unfortunately, there's none. I only found myself in a library.

I sat down on a chair and began to wonder what my fate would be. Suddenly, my eyes darted to the bottle of drink on the table.

I decided to have a sip, maybe it will help to clear off my mind a bit. I poured the drink into the glass and settled on the chair.

After a while, I felt a terrible pain in my tummy and clutched it tightly.

What's happening to me? Could it be that the drink was poisoned?

'' Ah!'' I screamed out and sank to the floor, the pain becoming unbearable. I felt the urge to vomit, and when I spit out, I realized it was blood.

The drink was meant for that bastard, Darien. And to think I'll die in his stead, made my heart twitch. '' I can't die on his behalf. This can't happen.''

Tears slid down my cheeks as my eyes began to blur. Am I going to die?

I forced myself and crawled to the door. Maybe if I get to the main room and scream out, someone might come in and help me.

However, I didn't get to the door when I felt my world collapsing. My body weakened, and my eyes slowly closed, succumbing to darkness.
