Chapter 4: Left to die
Hannah I stared at the shock on Bryan's face, which gradually morphed into one of disgust and hate. The entire room was silent. The music had died down, and you could hear a pin drop as everyone anticipated what would happen next. No one would have believed it and neither did I; that I would finally find my mate. I didn’t even have to leave the borders of the Raven Falls pack. But I did not expect ‘him’ to be my mate. My expectations dwindled as the silence stretched on. Heather already had a smile on her face, looking at Bryan as if she knew what was coming next. The hand wrapped around her waist was released as Bryan took a step forward. Then another. And another, until he was only a foot away from me. He was so close I could feel his hot breath fanning across my face. I wanted to savor that moment, his scent intoxicating, but I knew it wouldn't last long no matter how much I wanted it to. Staring into his blue eyes, the disgust was evident, nothing seemed to mask the hatred that he felt for me, probably the shame he felt for having to be mated with me. "There’s no way a weak, pathetic, ugly slave of a mutt is my mate," he spat bitterly in my face, and I flinched at every word. Tears brimmed at the corners of my eyes as I knew what was coming next. "Wait, please, we’re meant to be together. Please!" I pleaded silently, reaching for his arm. He quickly drew back, as though I was dirt he didn’t want touching him. He walked back to Heather’s side, grabbing her by the waist and pulling her close. Both of them wore smirks on their faces. "I, Bryan Ducati—" he started. "No, wait… please don’t do this," my voice cracked as I stepped forward, trembling, desperate to stop him from declaring his next words. "Reject you, Hannah Anderson, from being my mate," he finished, pulling Heather closer to him. The pain I’d never felt before tore through me as I screamed and collapsed to the floor. My heart shattered as my last hope for life crashed—my last star in the sky, lost in the darkness that seemed to grow bigger now. I’d felt pain within this pack every day, but nothing compared to this. It was as though my soul was being ripped from me, but it still loomed there. "Get this piece of trash out of here!" Heather ordered as she cozied up to Bryan. I looked at Bryan once more, my vision blurry from the tears, hoping he wouldn’t do this to me. Pleading ever so desperately for him not to let this bond go. Bryan had already turned away, his attention now on Heather, they both chuckled and had their moment while she tried to calm him down. He didn’t spare me another glance after that. There was nothing left for me. No meaning to my life. I felt soulless, crumbling to the floor as my legs gave out, they weren't able to hold me back up. I didn’t notice the two pack members who had appeared by my side on Heather’s orders. They began dragging me, throwing me out of the pack house and slamming the door shut behind me. I sat there, staring at the closed door. The music was turned back on as everyone returned to partying, while I remained on the ground, consumed by grief. The tears continued to roll down my face as I sobbed bitterly. With a strength I didn’t know I had, I picked myself up and began to walk, not knowing where I was going. I kept walking until I bumped into someone. "What in the world is this?" A man’s angry voice rang out as I found myself on the floor again. I didn’t know who it was until I looked up and recognized who my audience was. "Alpha Jaxon?" The fear was evident in my voice. His eyes burned with anger and disgust— emotions I had seen too often. "I’m so… sorry, Alpha," I whispered, my voice barely audible as I bowed. "Alpha Jaxon, what is the meaning of this?" the man beside him demanded, wiping his expensive-looking clothes as if I had stained him. "Is this how you welcome guests now, letting peasants interrupt them? Unbelievable." The man spat with utter dissatisfaction. I remained bowed when a hand slapped me across the face, sending me back to the ground. The growing pain on my cheek wasn't numb but there was definitely swelling. The stranger had struck me. When I glanced at Alpha Jaxon, his eyes showed anger, though he seemed to contain it as he addressed the visitor. "My apologies, friend." "Hurry up and apologize!" The man yelled at me. I scrambled to my knees, barely able to speak as I apologized to the man. All I felt was an empty void in my heart. Pain didn’t register, and neither did the insults that were thrown my way. The man, no longer acknowledging me, turned to Alpha Jaxon and said, "Weak peasants like this shouldn’t be part of a pack, Alpha…" He trailed off, but Alpha Jaxon cut him off. "Watch yourself, Miguel. Don’t tell me how to run my pack," he said, his voice low and dangerous. Then he composed himself and added, "Why don’t you go on then? Our business is done, and I won’t be seeing you off." One could tell Alpha Jaxon was keeping his voice at bay, holding in his anger. Miguel, eager to escape as he realized this, bid Alpha Jaxon goodbye and quickly scurried away. I remained kneeling when Alpha Jaxon finally turned towards me. His heated gaze made me shrink into myself. "Useless," he sneered, slapping me across the face again. "Embarrassing me in front of a company, huh?" His voice was low but dangerous. The pain stung worse this time as he put more force behind the slap. I lay on the floor, my hands pressed to my cheeks, wondering why it was always like this— constantly being bullied, constantly hated. I never understood it. "You’re just a burden to this pack, of no value whatsoever. I can’t have you here again." He looked off into the distance, his expression distant. I realized he was mind-linking. This was confirmed when I saw two warriors walking toward us. "What a waste of my time," Alpha Jaxon muttered. "I should have killed you a long time ago if I knew how useless you were." I wondered what he meant by that, but only for a moment before the two warriors grabbed me. "She’s banished from the pack. Take her out!" he ordered. ~ "What are you doing with her?" She asked. Although the warriors weren't obliged to answer, they had to give a response because she was the daughter of the leader of the warriors. "Really?" The smirk on Heather's face grew wider as she stopped staring at the warriors and turned her gaze to me. "Well, it's about damn time," One of my brothers sighed in mock relief. Heather continued, "Well, in that case, why don't we offer assistance?" She suggested with a smile on her face. "The alpha ordered—" The warrior on my left was cut off by Heather. "See, you must have been mistaken, I wasn't asking." The smile that had once graced her face dropped. They knew she was powerful and not just because her father was one of authority. She had been trained by him, and he was considered strong and fierce. My brother walked up to the warriors, who handed me over to him with no more words spoken. "That will be all for now. You may return to your posts." Her smile had returned. Both warriors scurried away. "Well, well, well. Let's go for a walk, shall we?" Although she asked, I knew she wasn't expecting an answer from me. My brother snickered behind me before we started walking towards the forest. We had walked a considerable distance, probably far enough where my screams wouldn't be heard as they tortured me to death. "Now, I have to ask, what were you expecting when you found out Bryan was your mate? I could see the look in your eyes earlier," she laughed. I wasn't ready to answer. The first hit was across my face. "I asked you a question." She grabbed my short hair tightly. "You think you could replace me? Huh? Very funny." She chuckled. My silence apparently only made her angrier. Her face was so close, and all of a sudden, my emotions conflicted—anger, despair—and with a surge of adrenaline, I spat in her face. This shocked both of us, but I quickly recovered as I realized I had nothing to lose anymore. Heather was so angry. She wiped the spit off her face before starting to throw punches at me. My brothers just stood back and laughed. I crumpled to the floor, clutching my stomach, groaning in pain. My vision had become blurry, but I could still hear the anger in her voice. "Someone like you shouldn't even exist. Weak, pathetic, useless. Honestly, I wonder why you’ve lived this long. Your existence irritates me!" After she had ranted, she calmed herself down. "You both," she said, pointing at my brothers who had been enjoying the spectacle. "Finish this." She ordered them before turning to me again. "I would have wanted to watch you die, but I think it's best to spend my precious time with ‘MY’ mate, Bryan." She mocked me before walking away. Kyle grabbed my hair, lifting me off the ground. Kaleb delivered a blow to my stomach, making me double over. I fell to my knees as Kyle released his grip. "Finally, you'll be out of our lives for good," Kyle started. "We can live our lives without you bringing a stigma onto us." "You really are disgusting," Kaleb said as he kicked me again. "This is no fun," one of them said. "How about your favorite game—Chase?" "That's a great idea," the other agreed, planning my death. I got up with the little strength I had left and started walking backward slowly. I knew I was falling into their trap, but if there was even the slightest chance that Bryan might come to my rescue again, then I was going to take it. "Oh, there she goes," I heard from behind me as I walked away. I wasn't moving fast, and I tripped several times. When I turned, they were nowhere to be seen. I continued limping, not knowing where I was going until I reached the same cliff from last time. This time, it appeared rather scary and deep as it was dark out, a drop from this height was sure to end me, “What to do? What to do?” I cried to the moon goddess but seconds later I yelped. I felt my hair being yanked again, turning me around. A storm of punches came down on me, landing on my face and every other part of me. I felt like a punching bag, being used to take out someone's anger and frustration. One of them held me by the arms while the other continued to strike. With every punch, he said, "You'll be out of our lives for good." The punches turned into scratches. His claws were drawn, and I couldn't stop it. I was open and vulnerable, and no part of me was spared. I stopped struggling at this point. Blood covered my body, and my vision was failing. I felt my hand release its grip as I fell to the floor. Pressure was placed on my leg, and a cracking sound followed before the person let go. "Is she dead?" One of them asked. "I doubt she'd live after your rampage," the other answered, shaking me slightly. "Let's go." They agreed after pushing me over the cliff, and then I lost consciousness before I hit the bottom.Chapter 5: Brown-eyed Beta Hannah "When do you think she’ll come through?" A female voice asked, sounding concerned. I wondered who it was; I’ve never been shown that kind of concern, with my mother being the only exception. "I don’t really know. It’s only been a few hours since the surgery. It all depends on her, though. She’s a werewolf, so we shouldn’t be too worried. I don’t know how long she was out there, however," a male voice answered, closer than the other. "Who would do something like this? They could have killed her," the first voice questioned, concern evident. "Maybe that was their intention in the first place," the closer voice replied softly, sounding sad. "It’s a miracle they found her in time. If they hadn’t, I don’t think we could have helped her." "I pray she pulls through. No one deserves to be treated this way, no matter the crime," the woman said. "Oh, she will. This one’s a fighter," the man assured her. They continued to talk about other things, but I di
Chapter 6: Fear of Wolfsbane Hannah: I hadn’t seen Tyrell for almost a week since he last threatened me with one of the deadliest poisons to wolves: wolfsbane. I was so scared that he might have actually used it. I had to constantly look out for him, just in case. Even though the doctor assured me that he had convinced the alpha to avoid violent means, I still found myself looking over my shoulder every now and then. This was an unknown territory, after all, and I was new here. It was quiet, save for the beeping sound on the monitor. Doctor Riley had shown me where the bathroom was, which contained basic necessities I could use, like a toothbrush, toothpaste, scrubs, and the rest. Every time I freshened up, I was always in a hospital robe. The nurses were a lot of help since I was still wrapped in bandages. Although I had tried to get them to leave it up to me, they insisted and I didn't know how to feel about that. It was a new feeling having to be served by others. Today was
Chapter 7: A Friend in Cleo Hannah: The door burst open, and the doctor walked in. Once he saw my frightened look, he glanced toward Tyrell, then down at the vial Tyrell was holding. "Beta Tyrell! You cannot do this without the Alpha's knowledge," Doctor Riley said as he moved to shield me from Tyrell. They held each other’s gaze in a tense standoff until, finally, Tyrell seemed to find a reason not to harm me, at least not yet. Putting away the vial, I saw Doctor Riley take a deep breath of relief. Tyrell, with a slight shove of his hand, moved Doctor Riley gently to the side as he stepped toward me. "I know you’re lying or maybe not telling the full truth… but I will get it out of you. You are not about to destroy my pack once again," Tyrell said, using the commanding Beta voice that forced me to look at him. The pressure weighed on me, and the fear in my heart intensified as I tried to control my breathing, which had only just calmed down when Doctor Riley entered. We star
Chapter 8: Late Bloomer Hannah: "What?" Cleo asked, looking confused. "What do you mean you can't shift?" she asked again as she snatched the notepad from my grasp, taking in the words as if she couldn’t understand. They were all staring at me like I’d grown an extra head. It must have been really unseen for one my age to not have shifted. I felt even more embarrassed at my uselessness. "Aren’t you like... older than fifteen or something?" Riley asked cautiously, rounding the kitchen counter with an eyebrow raised. I grabbed the notepad back from Cleo and quickly scribbled, "I only just turned eighteen." I skipped over the part about already finding my mate and the whole backstory, as it wasn’t really relevant and it was also quite hurtful to remember. Typically, a person shifts at fifteen, but when my time came, nothing happened. It just... passed. They all stared in silence until Riley cleared his throat to dismiss the awkwardness. "Well, it’s really not that strange. Some
Chapter 9: The Alpha Hannah: I woke up the next morning feeling groggy. The house was unusually quiet. As I walked out of my room, heading toward the bathroom, I noticed it was still dark outside, most people haven’t woken up yet. I’d always woken up early—Alpha's orders. I had chores to do in the pack house, and I had to start before the day got busy. Then, I remembered I wasn’t in my former pack anymore, and there was nothing for me to do. No orders. No responsibilities. I walked to the bathroom, which was surprisingly furnished to suit a woman's taste. A new toothbrush sat on the counter, and I couldn’t help but wonder if Tyrell had once lived with a woman. I quickly erased the thought as it was none of my business and began brushing my teeth. Looking at myself in the mirror, my appearance didn’t seem particularly striking. People in my old pack had told me I was pretty, but I never truly believed them. If I were really beautiful, I thought, they wouldn’t have treated me so po
Chapter 10: The initiation Hannah The man who had spoken, whom I presumed to be the Alpha, froze in place when he looked at me. I noticed a lost look in his eyes before I quickly cast my gaze downward to avoid disrespecting him. I knew what came next from disrespecting an Alpha—it was the whole reason I was in this pack in the first place. He cleared his throat and spoke again. "A very vibrant color you’ve chosen for your hair. Any particular reason?" I only shook my head. I hadn’t brought my notepad and pen with me. "Hm, yes," he continued, "I heard you cannot make use of your voice. A shame, really." He sighed. "You’re from the Ravens’ Fall Pack, are you not?" he asked, louder now. I could feel the same pressure I had earlier bearing down on me, forcing me to speak. I tried but could only nod my head in answer. Cleo was wrong; they were all the same. They used fear as a tool, showing their dominance at every turn. My heart raced. Was he going to kill me for being
Chapter 11: The Pack House Hannah: "Like I said before, I do not have time to introduce you personally to the pack. It's a good thing Miss Carter is here; she can help you with what you need," Alpha Daniel said. He turned towards Cleo. "You're helping her get situated in one of the rooms in the pack house. A few clothes will be nice as well." And with that, he was off, leaving just me and Cleo in the forest. "That was fast. Normally, it’d take a longer, more boring speech," she pondered for a bit. "Count yourself lucky—you don’t have to go through all that." I didn’t know what to think about it, as this was my first-ever initiation. But I was not expecting the blood part a bit. I wish someone would have told me what to expect, though. "Shall we go over to the pack house now?" she asked. As we were the only ones in the forest circle, there was no point in us being there any longer. I nodded. We both made our way to her car and began our drive back to the pack house. While on the
Chapter 12: Attack Hannah: "Tyrell!" A look of disbelief was written across her face. "What are you doing here?" Arya asked as she shot a suspicious glance between the two of us, her voice reduced to a lower level as she took a step back. Tyrell ignored her question and, with a bit of pressure hanging in the air, repeated, "What are you doing here?" Arya visibly gnashed her teeth under the weight of his words, her eyes shifting between the both of us before she stammered a response. "I... I was only—" she hesitated, struggling to find her footing. "I was only here to greet the new members. To welcome them into our pack, that's all," she declared, taking another step back. "I'm going to pretend I didn't hear what you said earlier," Tyrell said coolly, though irritation, and perhaps a hint of hurt, flickered across his face. "Since you've seen her, you can take your leave." "Yes, Beta," Arya muttered, clearly subdued. I doubted she could say anything else under the palpable tensio
TWO YEARS LATER Hannah: It's been two years now and things have changed for the better, the pack was much more lively than before and perfectly safe from any known harm.I spent more time with my mother and father who had stepped down for Harry to take over which was the plan before. Everyone was okay with this, especially Luna Arya, she was the happiest, it's what she had wanted from the very beginning. She was happy, she didn't have a problem with either me or my mother, this was mainly because my mother wasn't willing to take the title of Luna even until now.I supported her decision the whole way, and so did my father.Harry has been doing a wonderful job as the Alpha. Well, I expected nothing less from someone who had been training since they were young.Cleo hadn't yet found her mate, so she decided to choose one, a man named Enoch. He was from a visiting pack for an alliance. He and Cleo got really close and he decided that he wanted to stay rath
Bryan:It's been a few weeks since the death of my father. Immediately after his funeral, there was the ceremony for me to be the next alpha, since then I've been running the pack. It's been quite stressful, but if I don't do it, I'll let my pack be susceptible to attacks, it would make us vulnerable. It was early in the morning, and my mother and I were seated in my office which I had to rearrange, let some light in, and move some things to my liking. My mother has been of great help in running the pack. She looked happier, and more free, and made me thank the moon goddess for what she had done, even though that would make me a bad son for wishing his father dead.We were talking about how we were going to open up the west wing, as well as those tunnels. I had thought to keep them open but now that she brought it up, my mind wasn't made up yet."I'm just saying, what if something happens, and there's a need for us to hide or retreat, it'll be an excellent escape route if we were ever
Tyrell:While I informed Alpha Daniel about our little adventure out of the pack lands, Hannah had excused herself and walked over to where Timothy stood. I couldn't take my eyes off her, or rather I didn't want to, but the alpha always called my attention back.I don't think he knows that his Daughter and I are in a relationship. I'll have to talk about it with Hannah first, but I'm definitely sure her mother did."Well since everything turned out okay, we can finally throw a feast in celebration," the alpha suggested as he scooted to sit with his mate. "We were meant to have it when we had avoided bloodshed with the Raven Falls pack, but since the stars of the show weren't there we just had to wait until you all came back."Luna Melissa smiled as she cuddled closer to Alpha Daniel, they were truly mates, something I wished for Hannah and I to have in the future."Maybe something small perhaps," Hannah said as she joined in on the conversation sitting beside me with just enough space
Hannah:After escaping from hunters, a few days of running, and stopping to hunt for food, we finally reached the pack house. I was so happy that we were finally back in our home, in our land. When we approached the pack house, my father and mother were already by the doors. When he saw us coming, he ordered for clothes to be brought for usIt was a long way here, we had to shift to our full forms to be faster for us to arrive.I threw on the large hoodie I was given before I ran into my Mom's embrace, she had tears streaming down her face as she held me in her arms, and my father came around as well and joined in.My family, the one thing I had wanted ever since I was young, and here they were surrounding me, I finally pulled away, and my mother used her backhands to wipe the tears from her face before she checked me, turning my face from side to side as she sniffed, "Your okay, your okay, your home now," she said before pulling me in for another hug.I really could get used to this.
Naomi:I heard more noises outside, I went to step out when they opened fire, and I fell to the ground immediately with my hands over my head as they continued to shoot. There was an intense pain in my leg and I knew I sprained an ankle while going down.I wondered what the hell was wrong with my brother, was his hate for werewolves greater than the life of his own sister?I stayed on the ground until the shooting finally stopped. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING? DID MY SISTER COME OUT OF THERE? WHO GAVE YOU PERMISSION TO FIRE?" I heard my brother's voice, Nathan, rage from outside.Well at least I knew he still cared for me, this brought a smile but only a little as I never really forgave him for what he did a year ago.Who would have thought the daughter of the leader of werewolf hunters would actually fall in love with a werewolf?"Sir, two of our men went in but we've been unable to reach them…" One of his men said, his voice was noticeably shaking but slightly."And tha
Tyrell:I examined Hannah frantically as she laid in my arms, she was sweating but she insisted she was okay even though there was a bullet lodged into her abdomen."Here, let me see," Cleo rushed and knelt beside me before she took over haha while I hovered over her shoulder.Hannah grunted, "You guys, I'm fine, we just need to get out of here," she said before she tried to stand but gritted her teeth while Cleo helped her back down."We need to remove the bullet, if not you're gonna be feeling the pain a lot more," Cleo stated. "We need a little bit of time, if we leave now in her state, and we won't get far." "It's a silver bullet, if you don't remove it now she might die, as backup would soon be here, believe me, if they do get here, then there's no leaving for anyone," Naomi bit out as she lifted the curtains slightly and peeked out the window.I calmed down only a bit, since it was silver, then we have less problem to worry about, that would be that there's still a bullet lodge
Hannah:We didn't sleep for long, less than two hours when we were woken up by Cleo, apparently, we had to watch the news or something. The sun was badly up no more.Tyrell stood up and helped me up as well before we exited the bedroom and walked into the living room.Cleo and Timothy were standing when she pointed at the TV.I glanced at the TV and instantly understood her panic. We were on it, all three of us at least.I mean it would be weird if they didn't capture a scene like that but I didn't think they would broadcast it.We were at the playground where we attacked Donovan, that was where they captured us, there were a few more pictures of mostly Donovan but then us as well before they were done. Our faces were a bit blurry, but if you knew who we were, you'd probably know that's us. Naomi came up on the screen next, she looked frantic but still kept her composure as she answered the interviewer's questions."So you say you're a journalist right, what would you be writing about
Hannah:I wanted to watch as everything burnt to the ground, but Naomi insisted that we leave because her hunter family might be showing up anytime soon.Tyrell pulled me by the arm and Cleo followed after us, the fire ragged on wildly into the sky behind us as we made our way out of there. We heard noises coming from down the road."Quickly, you need to leave, they are already here," Naomi pleaded, her eyes dancing frantically between us and down the road. What was that look on her face, why did she fear that something bad might happen, and why did she care?"You guys go ahead, I'll stall them off, but you need to hurry," she urged us.I didn't really have anything to say, but Tyrell did, "Thank you for all your help until we meet again," he said goodbye to her, and so did Cleo.I guess I was the only one who was uncomfortable with her presence.Tyrell looked at her confused for a minute before we were on our way, leaving Naomi behind. I wanted to ask Tyrell why he trusted her so muc
Hannah:After confirming that Donovan was finally dead, I breathed in deeply, there was no longer a threat on Mother's life, nor mine. There was a sense of relief that washed over me, I stood back up and I felt warm hands wrap around me from behind, "It's over, it's finally over," Tyrell whispered into my ear. His husky breath tickled a bit, and the fabric of his shirt came in contact with my bare skin."He was the only person left who knew I was a silver blood, as well as my mother," I said quietly just to Tyrell although I knew Cleo must have heard.Tyrell replied, "That's good then, the rest only know that a white wolf was roaming in the woods, according to the orders he probably gave to them. As long as you can stay off their radar for a little while, they'll lose interest and everything will go back to normal." He placed a soft kiss behind my ears before someone's voice broke our tranquility.Naomi stepped up, "This seems really lovely, and I'd hate to break such a wonderful coup
