ALLISON
I walked into Sapphire Lounge, a famous and expensive bar in New York. The colorful flickering lights and the girls in skimpy clothes dancing seductively, when was the last time I came to a bar? “ Hey! When you said we’re going clubbing, I thought you meant a regular club,” my best friend, Cathy tugged on my gown. “ I thought you said we were going to have fun with me tonight. Are you having second thoughts now?” I frowned, slightly disappointed. “ I might even snag myself a man for the night,” I laughed eccentrically. “ That’s obviously not it and you want to have a fling? Anyway, my problem here is how are we supposed to afford anything here?” She pointed at the expensive lounge we had entered. “ We’re college students,” she reminded me. “ Have you forgotten that I’m from a wealthy family?” I turned around to look at her. “ How can I not remember? That’s even how we were able to get in to begin with,” she folded her arms. “ I plan on using my allowance tonight so you don’t need to worry. For tonight, I’ll be Allison Genovese,” I stated as I continued walking, weaving my way through the people around. “ I thought you said you wouldn’t use your dad’s money ever!? Isn’t that why you’ve been working part-time and even got a scholarship?” She followed me behind. I stopped abruptly in my tracks. “ Yes, I said that but I’m really feeling out of it right now. It’s like my heart has been torn into shreds,” tears gathered in my eyes as I expressed. “ Can’t I just let loose for once?” The moment I asked, I felt a hand on my back. “ You don’t have to explain yourself to me, I understand,” she moved her hand from my back to my hair, ruffling it. “ Come on, let’s party till daybreak!” She said enthusiastically. “ You can’t say no to a party, can you?” I laughed. “ You know me too well,” she winked. Grabbing me gently by the wrist, she took me to the counter to sit. “ Two bottles of Smirnoff vodka Red,” she ordered and the bartender stared at us awkwardly. “ Hey! Are you planning on embarrassing us here?” I pulled her hand down and whispered. “ What did I do wrong?” She whispered back, her voice hinting impatience. “ Look around you, we’re at a luxury lounge. We’re going to look like bums here if you order a fifteen dollar drink,” I said in a hushed tone. “ It’s twenty dollars though,” she pouted with folded arms. “ I’m sorry for the misunderstanding. My friend here isn’t all that familiar with the drinks you have,” I laughed awkwardly, scratching the back of my head. “ We’ll have two bottles of Diamond is Forever Martini,” I gave a warm smile, hoping he hadn’t already begun suspecting us. “ If you don’t mind, I’d like to verify who you are,” the bartender said. I knew he was wary of us now. I took out my ID and handed it over to him. “ I’m Allison Genoveseand I came here to have a good time with my friend,” I said as he looked at it. “ I-I’m sorry for bothering you,” he bowed his head in apology. I guess being a Genovesewasn’t all that bad. “ It’s fine so just get us our drinks,” I waved it off. I just wanted to cry my heart out and everything and everyone keeps ruining the mood to be depressed. He came back in a few minutes with glasses and two bottles of what we ordered. I and Cathy started drinking without saying a word to each other. “ What?! He cheated with who?!” Cathy raised her voice as I narrated everything to her in my tipsy state. “ I always knew he was nothing but trash,” she spat. I had just been dumped and to make it worse, my boyfriend, Carter, had been cheating on me with my sister. “ I feel like garbage,” I smacked my head against the counter in agony. “ I thought things like this only happen in movies,” Cathy clenched her glass. “ To think he’d do that to you after all the years you’ve spent together,” she was angry. Maybe even angrier than I was since she had never liked him. I and Carter had been dating for five years now and even our families were aware of it. Just like I was, Carter was also from a wealthy family and we even promised to get married after we’re done with uni. “ Damn it!” I cussed through grit teeth. I hated how I was feeling. I wish everything that had happened was a lie or at least that it didn’t affect me. “ I always knew something was odd about him. I never liked how he acted,” Cathy said. “ I don’t want to talk to him,” I said in a low voice. “ I came here to drink till I forget everything that happened or at least till everything feels numb,” tears slipped out of my eyes as I hiccupped. “ Are you stupid or just naive? Do you really think drinking is going to numb your pains?” A masculine voice beside me came. “ Who the hell are…” my anger quickly faded away once my eyes met the older man beside me. His shiny black hair styled in a pompadour with intense grey eyes were all too captivating. “ Who the hell are you to butt into our conversation?” Cathy raised her voice on him. “ Your conversation wasn’t exactly private to say the least,” he sipped from his glass. “ That doesn’t mean you can just butt in, idiot!” I insulted. “ Besides, what would you know? You all are scum,” I accused as I emptied another glass of alcohol into my mouth. I hiccupped. “ And here you are crying over scum, you’re pretty much trash yourself, don’t you think?” He calmly dissed me. What was his deal? I stood up from my seat and grabbed his shirt. “ Are you picking a fight with me, Grey eyes?” “ And if I am?” He smirked. “ Crazy bastard,” I cussed underneath my breath before letting him go. “ Wallowing in self-pity is kinda humiliating, don’t you think?” He rested his chin on his hand. “ Sometimes, the only way to win is to fight fire with fire,” he tapped his fingers. “ Do you like me, mister?” I leaned closer towards him. “ Interested would be the word,” he corrected. “ But you’re not my type,” he stated. This guy icked me for more reasons than one. “ Too bad, I find you attractive even if you're a total asshole,” I grabbed his shirt and kissed him. He tasted like expensive wine - I like it. After a rather impulsive kiss, I let go of him. “ You really are daring,” he snickered. “ Don’t regret your actions now, Missy,” he grinned. As much as I hated his guts, I didn’t mind getting laid by him. Pulling me close to him, he grabbed my neck from behind and returned the favour.ALLISON My eyes fluttered open as the blinding rays of light slipped through the windows. Was it morning already? I sat up. “ I feel terrible yet not terrible,” I muttered as I held my head in pain. I was having a hangover from last… My eyes widened as the word last night rang in my head. I tried to recount everything that happened after I went drinking with Cathy and the embarrassing clip of me forcefully kissing a stranger came to mind. “ You’re pretty active for someone with a hangover,” an oddly familiar voice said. I looked up and saw the same stranger I had kissed back at the bar. “ W-what are you doing here?” I stuttered, my voice raised. “ Are you stalking me?!” I pulled the bed sheet to cover me better. Wait… I looked under the bedsheet and I was… “ Seems your memories from last night have finally come back,” he chuckled, finding my embarrassment and shock amusing. “ You really are not in any way aware of your surroundings for you to th
ALLISON’S POV As I stood before my Dad and Stepmom, my heart raced with anticipation. “ I’m moving out,” I announced. My voice was firm and I felt a sense of resolve wash over me. From my peripheral vision, I could see my stepmom’s eyes widen in shock. “ What do you mean you’re moving out?” She exclaimed loudly, her voice was laced with a mix of surprise and annoyance. “ Exactly what I said, I’m leaving.” I shrugged, clearly ignoring her. My stepmom’s face turned red, and she started to ramble, “ But why? You can’t just…..” “ Oh please! Save it okay.” I cut her off, cause my patience was wearing thin. “ We both know you’re happy I’m leaving.” My dad scowled, his expression turned disapproving. “ Allison, don’t speak to your mom that way.” His words ignited a spark of anger within me. “ She’s not my mom,” I spat, my voice turned venomous. “ To think you have the audacity to say that when we both know you cheated on my actual mom.” My Dad’s eyes bla
ALLISON’S POVI laid on the plush bed, with my phone held lazily in one hand as I played Candy Crush. It had been two weeks since I moved out of my parent’s house and into Ryan’s mansion. It was a whirlwind of a change, but I had to admit, I was loving every minute of it.Most days, I’d wake up early, get dressed, and head to college from Ryan’s house. But some days, like today, I’d decide to stay home and study. Ryan’s mansion was a peaceful oasis, and I found myself getting more work done here than I ever did at home. But despite the peace and quiet, I couldn’t shake the feeling that Ryan was always watching me. He’d often appear in the doorway of my room, a small smile on his face as he’d ask me what I was up to. It was a little unnerving, but at the same time, it made me feel safe and protected. My phone buzzed, disrupting my game. Ryan’s name flashed across the screen. I raised an eyebrow, wondering what he wanted now. I sighed and answered. “ What?” Ryan chuck
