First Ever Project

Roxanna's POV

Right before my very eyes, the doctor read my pulse and took my heartbeat with his stethoscopes. Not only that, he also examined my eyes. 

Well, good thing she already has a doctor at hand. I'm sure he'll notice that indeed I'm not feeling well. 

After the doctor was done, he suddenly paused, staring down at me with a confused expression. 

I blinked, confused at this action. 

“Tell me, Steven, what's her diagnosis?”

“Well, the thing is…from the diagnosis carried out, it shows that your daughter here, is two weeks pregnant.”

“What?!” Lady Diana and I screamed at once, wide-eyed. 

“I'm serious. Clearly without a test I can tell what's wrong with a sick person, isn't that why you wanted me here in the first place, Lady Diana?”

I blinked and slowly placed my hand on my stomach? I'm… Pregnant? How did this happen? I shook my head. I was clouded with utter frustration. Did I get pregnant by a stranger? Oh my God, what have I done to myself! 

“Roxanna, so you've been deceiving us all, haven't you?”

I raised my gaze at once to Lady Diana. I wanted to explain the situation to her, but what exactly am I supposed to explain at this very moment? I was utterly confused as it is. 

“I…I…" I trailed off. What exactly am I supposed to say? My heart was beating so loudly in my chest. 

Just then, my stepmom came over to my bed and sat next to me. 

At first, I thought she was about to question me for the identity of whom I got pregnant for, but was shocked when she suddenly smiled at me. 

“Now that you're pregnant, I think this is the perfect opportunity to get you wedded! I should have known you were only just pretending.”

“Huh?” I muttered, confused. 

“Well, aren't you Pregnant with Klaus's child? I saw how you both were whispering to one another and the smile on his face. Oh my God, I should have known he liked you!”

“That-”

"Say no more, Roxanna, you're getting married to Klaus, especially now that you're pregnant for him. 

With that, she walked out of my room with the doctor and Louisa.

“No, no, no, no. This can't be happening to me,” I muttered to myself. I forced myself out of bed and began to pace from one end of the room to the next. 

I need to stop my Stepmom from informing Klaus about this. But if I do, how on earth do I explain to my family that I wasn't pregnant for Klaus and totally have no idea who I was pregnant for? 

“Arrgh!!” I screamed out and began to pull at my hair. I'm in trouble. I'm in a huge mess!

That evening I didn't bother to leave my room because I was too ashamed to face anyone now. Just as I was lost in thoughts, the door to my room instantly flew open and no one else, but Paula walked in, looking like an angry wolf who was about to pounce on her enemy.

“What is this I hear? You're pregnant for Klaus? You're carrying Klaus's child for real?”

“Paula, please, I'm not in the mood to talk about this.”

“Not in the mood? You shameless tramp! How can you not be in the mood after what you've done! You dared to get pregnant for my boyfriend!” Paula lashed out in anger. 

My heart sank when I noticed how she was screaming at the top of her voice. 

“Paula, please, let's not do this now.”

She suddenly came over to the bed and grabbed me by the hand. 

“Get out of bed right now!”

“Paula, let me go. What do you think you're doing?!”

“We are going to the hospital, you need to get rid of that bastard you're carrying.”

Immediately, I yanked my hands free from Paula. 

“I will do no such thing?” I stated and quickly placed my hand around my stomach, a gesture to protect my child. 

Paula gazed at me with a murderous expression. 

“What are you trying to do, then? Give birth to a child for Klaus? How on earth did you get into his bed, huh? You know what, I don't even care how you did it. I will personally get rid of that thing you're carrying myself!” 

Paula pounced on me and began dragging me off the bed. 

“Let me go!” I screamed as I struggled with Paula. 

“What the hell is going on here!” Lady Diana charged in at once. Paula let go at once. 

“Mom, you know how much Klaus and I love each other. I mean, it's painful enough that I have to watch him marry this…this bitch. Now she's pregnant for him. How do you think this makes me feel?”

“Darling, stop this madness! I already found you a notable suitor who will make you become the most powerful duchess in the country.”

“Spare me that, mom. The Duke isn't someone we can get our hands on, despite how wealthy we are! I just found out about him, he is never interested in a woman. Some even suspect that he's gay. Do you think such a man will be attracted to me? We need to get rid of her pregnancy, mom. Getting pregnant before marriage is wrong, and you know that!”

“Okay, okay, if that will make you happy, I'll do just that.”

“What?!” I gasped in shock watching Lady Diana. She turned towards me and made an irritated expression. 

“Well, you have always been unfortunate. We'll get rid of the child, but that doesn't stop you from getting married to Klaus, so get yourself prepared this evening.”

My Stepmom and her daughter both left my room after saying this. 

I can't believe this, they are going to get rid of a child like it's trash, my child? 

I looked around me, I can't stay here. I need to escape from the mansion before evening comes.

# Six Years Later 

I woke up as early as 6:am and looked out of the balcony. It was still a little dark, but I liked the freshness of the morning. Just then, I heard a knock on my door. 

“Come in,” I said from the balcony where I was. The door flew open and Sarah, my assistant, walked in. 

“My goodness, Miss Austina, you're awake!”

“Well, this will be my first-ever project. Let's say I'm awake because I feel a little nervous.”

“You don't have to be. That's why you have me here. You should get prepared, uncle Zach is already at the dining table waiting for you.”

“Oops! Tell him I'll be with him in a jiffy.”

The moment Sarah left, I rushed into the bathroom had my bath. It's going to be a long day today.
