Mixed Feelings

I could feel my face twisting in fury as my mind wandered back to the encountered I had earlier with Katerina.

Despite Clara trying to make her feel jealous about our relationship, she didn't flinch and even acted like she doesn't care. She walked past us and that triggered me more.

I tried going after her when I felt Clara's hand on my arm, pulling me back. "My love, where are you going to?" She asked, her voice soft and worried.

"Don't worry about me, just go inside" I growled, shaking off her hand. "I will join you in a while. I have something to take care of"

"Damian, don't tell me you're trying to go and meet her again? No, I won't let you do that if that's what you're planning to do" She tried grabbing my arm again.

"You don't understand the word, GO INSIDE... do you?! Just fucking do what I asked you and leave me the hell alone!" I bursted angrily at her.

I felt her shivered and fear immediately etched on her face. I don't even know why I'm suddenly this upset and acting this way.

She slowly let go of my arm and I walk away. I caught up with Katerina before she could hopped into her car. And despite all my threats, she still looked un-bothered and kept staring at me with pure hatred in her eyes.

Her nonchalant attitude keeps fueling my anger more. My palms clenched tightly around the glass cup of drink in my hand until I felt my best friend, Nicholas voice trying to calm me down.

"Can you at least pity the poor cup?"

"No, you don't get it, do you? How dare she look at me with those glaring eyes? There were no regrets or whatsoever in them. Isn't she supposed to beg for my forgiveness? After everything she's done to me?" I asked angrily before gulping down all the drink in one goal.

We're both sitting in a dimly lit room at our usual club house in the VIP room, with a cool music played in the background.

"Damian, I want you to know that before we became Alpha and Beta, we were best friends and still best friends. And as your best friend, I'm telling you the truth now that you're getting this all wrong"

"What do you mean?" My eyes narrowed at him angrily.

"Well, I think you're letting Clara's words get to you" He said, his voice firm yet gentle. "You never confronted Katerina about what Clara told you. You're just assuming the worst"

My face twisted in anger and my fists clenched at my sides. "You're taking her side now? You're supposed to be my friend for fucking sake!"

"I'm still your friend, man. And that's why I'm trying to sound this reasonable right now" He said, his hands spread wide in a calming gesture. "To me, I think there's been a misunderstanding. If only you could just talk to Katerina for once, cleared the air and maybe... Just maybe, there's more to the story than what Clara has told you"

No, this guy is not in his senses any longer. I stood up swiftly, my chair scraping against the floor. "You're either with me, for me or against me, Nicholas! If you're going to keep supporting her then just know this, it's going to be over between us. You'll cease to be my friend!"

I watch him sigh and his shoulder slumping in defeat. "Damian, come on, don't be like this. You're hurting yourself more than anyone else. You can try listening to your head for once and not your-"

Before he could finish his statement, I just stormed out of the room angrily, leaving him alone all to himself in there.

There's no way I'm going to stand there and keep listening to his nonsense!!

KATERINA CLERKS

My heart still keep pounding fastly and loudly as I drive my car into the Pack house. I could hear the sound in my head. I rushed myself into my quarter just to be alone and clear my head.

While making my way towards my quarters, I could feel the presence of Sebastian behind me. Calling after my name but I didn't stop, I just keep running to my room.

He was supposed to be at the backyard, training the new wolves, I don't know how he was able to see me.

Immediately I entered my room, I slumped on the floor and burst into tears, my whole body shaking with each breath that comes out of my mouth and nose.

This hurts, it really hurt so much. I know I was not supposed to be like this. I ought to be strong, but I failed. Please don't blame me, I know as an Alpha and everything I've been through, I'm not supposed to be weak again, I'm not supposed to get swayed by anything especially things that has to do with Damian but, I'm human too. Before the tittle Alpha, I was a human and I have feelings too.

It just hurt so much. I thought I had moved on from my past pains but seeing them together today, seeing how Damian still treated me like a trash, like I was the villain here really cut me deep. I shouldn't be bothered, considering how he had treated me in the past. I'm not supposed to be weak because I have moved on already, right?

But why does it still hurt this badly?

I'm glad Sebastian didn't bother asking me questions, he just crouched down to my level on the floor and wrapped his arms around me tightly, pulling me closer to his chest whilst stroking my hair gently. "Hey, it's okay" I heard him whispered softly to my ear. "I'm here for you, always remember that"

After a few minutes that felt like forever, I was finally calmed. I decided to tell him everything, leaving no part out of it.

As I finished talking, I could see his expression slowly changing from concern to anger and I knew very well that it's because of the story I had just narrated to him. He has never liked Damian one bit and I don't know if telling him this is okay.

I don't want him getting hurt because of me. I know Sebastian too well, he might end up challenging Damian which is something I wouldn't want.

He gently lift me up and then placed his hands on my cheeks, his fingers tracing the path of my tears as he wipe away my tears gently. Our eyes suddenly locked with one another and my heart skipped a beat as I felt his touch on my skin.

Our faces drew closer and our lips almost touching. I could feel Sebastian's eyes burning with intensity, his gaze piercing deep into into my soul. I feel like I was drowning in his eyes, like I am losing myself in them.

Then, he slowly leaned in, his lip brushing against mine and that act immediately sent a shiver down my spine, my heart racing so fastly. Just as he was about to kiss me, we both snapped out of it at the same time, reality crashing back down on us.

My goodness! What was I thinking?!- I mentally scold myself.

Sebastian jerked back also, his eyes widening in surprise and face flushed with embarrassment. "I'm... I'm sorry" He whispered, his voice husky with emotion. "I... I didn't mean to-"

I shook my head, my own face burning with embarrassment also. "It's okay" I whispered back, cutting him short. "I... I think we both got caught up in the moment"

He nodded, his eyes still locked on mine. "Erm ... Yeah, we did" He replied back.

The tension between us was beginning to grow again and then, without another word being said, he turned and hurriedly rushed out of the room. I tried calling after him but words suddenly left my words.

My goodness!

What just happened?

SEBASTIAN

As I walked out of Kate's room, my mind didn't stop reeling from the almost-kiss we nearly had. I can't believe I had let my emotions get the better of me- I thought, shaking my head profusely to shake off the scene out of my head.

As I walked down the hallway, my phone buzzed in my pocket, indicating that I have a call. I brought out my phone and answered the call.

"What's it, Jeff?" Came my cold yet gentle voice.

"Alpha, I... I am... I mean, in outside the packhouse. I need to speak with you" He said in a low voice.

"Are you crazy or what?! Didn't I tell you not to show up until I summon for you?!" I asked, my voice firm.

"I know, and I'm sorry but this seems to be urgent. Beta Sky had to send me here to deliver the message in person. It's about your uncle. He's begining to make a move, he's now gathering allies and I think he's planning something"

I grip on my phone tightly, I didn't like the sound of this at all.

"He's also been meeting with some pack councilors, I think he's trying to turn then against you"

My jaw clenched as he finished passing me the news.

That bastard!

"Keep digging! Continue to keep an eye on them. I need to know what that bastard is planning" I ordered.

"And don't you dare show yourself here again. Until I summon for you, don't come here. Now leave!" I added again in an authoritative tone.

"Yes, Alpha" He said, and I hung up the call.

That bastard, what is he planning again this time around?- I seethed in anger, clenching my fist and punching it into the wall.

"Who are you talking to?" I jerked in fear as I heard Kate's voice behind me.
