Chapter 94

FERRIS' POV

When Elise walked into the council room, I could hardly believe what I was seeing. She was wearing something so provocative, so unlike her usual modest self. The dress — if you could even call it that — was practically see-through, clinging to every curve of her body. I had to use every ounce of willpower to keep my Lycan in check. My instincts screamed at me to pounce, to claim what was mine right there and then in front of everyone, but I couldn’t. Not here. Not like this.

My jaw tightened, and I forced myself to stay calm, though my pulse thundered in my ears. The council members had all turned to look at her, and I could feel the shift in the room.

“Elise,” I wanted to say something, anything, to break the tension, but the words stuck in my throat.

Then the elders started murmuring. Their words were filled with disgust as they ridiculed her without hesitation. One of them scoffed, shaking his head.

“What is this? Does she think this is some kind of joke?"
