Chapter 006

Rachel and Rouge were shocked by what they witnessed. Rouge then directed his now sharp eyes to me.

“His eyes are red, meaning he’s got an Alpha power. Who’s his father, Cassandra? Why does he have that kind of power at such a young age? Only the Alpha bloodline may possess that power. So answer me, who's his father?” Rouge asked me, emphasizing each word.

I touched Hector’s hand and forced it to close down, then put him behind my back.

I shake my head on Rouge.

“You—you don’t know him, Alpha Rouge. But…”

“Do I care if I know that man? I just want to know what the name of his father is and why he has an Alpha power. ”

“Because his father is an Alpha,” I said, which startled him; his eyes remained on me.

Rachel chuckles nervously. “Liar! What are you trying to say, huh? That he’s Rouge’s son? You liar fucking bitch!”

“Cassandra?”

I wanted to deny Rachel’s accusations if only someone didn’t call my name. I turned around only to see Alpha Racken in his full black suit, removing his eyeglass as he stood beside me.

He is the Alpha of the Wooden Pack.

“Popsy!" Hector calls him with the nickname he has given Alpha Racken; his before-red eyes are now back in their normal state, and he is now smiling.

Racken smiled back as he bent a little to kiss Hector’s cheeks. He then looked at me.

“I’ve been calling you for a while now, but you’re not answering your phone. Is there something wrong?” He shifted his attention in front of us.

Rachel has her forehead creased while Rouge is gritting his teeth as he clenches his jaw.

“So that’s the father of your son, huh? Then it’s good, and please stop making stories that your son is Rouge’s son,” Rachel said, then tried to pull Rouge with her, but the latter seems like he’s already glued to his feet.

What the hell is she talking about? Is she insane?

“I’m not making stories about it. I didn’t even say that he’s your husband’s son. Don’t worry, I won’t do that.”

She rolled her eyes. “Whatever. Let’s go, hon. I still need to see the doctor. It seems like our baby is hurt because of the incident.”

Rouge stayed for a moment and continued watching me with a sharp eye, but after a couple of minutes, he sighed and then turned his back on all of us, walking away with his guards on his back, following Rachel.

I breathed in, then sighed. Finally, they are gone. At least they didn’t push through about me kneeling in front of them. Although I won’t hesitate to do it to save my son’s dignity and pride.

“Who are they, Mommy? Why are they taking me away from you?” Hector asked with a worried voice.

I kneeled in front of him, caressed his cheeks, then raked his neat hair.

“Don’t worry, baby. They’re now gone. They won’t take you away from me, hmm? I’ll always keep you beside me… forever… I promise that.”

His innocent face lit up, his lips forming a small smile.

“I promise to protect you always, Mommy.”

I gave him a sweet smile. He’s such a sweet child.

When I stood up, I noticed Alpha Racken’s stares at me, full of questions and curiosity. I just shake my head before he guided us to his car. According to him, he had asked my mother to get us in here; that’s why he’s here.

Well, I think we benefitted from him in another way anyway.
