Chapter Seventy Six

She was scooped up into strong arms, and her head came to rest against a hard, muscled chest. Closing her eyes, she breathed in his scent as he carried her back out onto the highway and into his car. This time, he did not let her go, handing her to Angelo while he got into the back. She was handed straight back to him, and the door slammed shut, his arms tightening as the car set off.

Juliette said nothing, there was nothing to say, she had run again and he had caught her again as he had told her he would, with a soft resigned sigh she tucked her head under his chin and closed her eyes. He felt so safe and warm, her headache subsided and the pain in her hip and back eased as his big hands stroked rhythmically up and down. He was like a drug she could not live without and it was not long before her breathing deepened as she fell asleep making him smile. She could fight it all she wanted but her body did not lie if she hated him as much as she said she did there was no way on this earth she would fall asleep so quickly in his arms. The jacket she was wearing had fallen open and he saw the long tear in her dress, it went from her hip right to the top of the dress exposing most of her golden skin from her panties to what should have been her bra. At the villa, he carried her to the Medical Centre so that Kate could check her over, lucky for her, apart from a few more bruises she had not been hurt and she was told to rest and allow her body to recover.
