CHAPTER III: The Search for the Space Craft

Since Grace and Sarah had managed to escape from the hands of the humanoids, they formed a group of scientists to find the cure for the disease killing hundreds of people.

The disease that already killed hundreds of human is almost impossible to cure. Fortunately, the group of professionals are trained and equipped with knowledge to formulate an idea to solve the problem.

Since the attack of the humanoids to Earth started, Sarah and Grace considered humanoids as their mortal enemies. Unexpectedly, two of the humanoids are willing to help them to go back to space. Both parties have agreed to helping each other find the solution to the disease.

“Okay, so this will be our agreement. We will allow both of you to accompany us to space in one condition: you will protect us from other humanoids out there at all cost. You should help us find a spacecraft to make our plan successful.” – Grace.

“First of all, we are not on their side. We do not tolerate their doings. There are two groups of humanoids out there; the good and the bad. Unfortunately, bad humanoids killed our group. We are the only one that managed to make it when the war happened between us and them.” – Humanoid 1.

“We are here to help you to fight them and find cure to this problem. We need you to trust us. We will do our best to take you to space safely.” – Humanoid 2.

After the agreement between humans and the humanoids has been made, the group started searching for a spacecraft. Searching for a rocket is not easy for the group but they are determined to find one.

The group of scientists is divided into two; the first group is headed by Sarah and the other one is ruled by Grace.

"Okay, to make our search faster, let us divide the group into two" - Grace.

"You, humanoid 1, go with Sarah. Humanoid 2, come with me." - Grace.

"Remember, we need to get a spacecraft as soon as possible. Sarah, take this gun in case those creatures attacked your group." - Grace.

"Okay. Let's start searching for that spacecraft. Make sure to be here before 5pm. Keep yourself safe.. Let us end this crisis together," said Sarah as she holds Grace's hands.

"Yes, I will." - Grace.

The search for the spacecraft started. The group of Sarah went to the old basement, two blocks away from their hideout, while Grace's team went to the science lab.

After a few hours, Sarah has successfully found what they are looking for. The spacecraft is large enough to accommodate the two groups to the space. The group needs to hide the spacecraft from the humanoids.

"We need to hide it from the humanoids out there. Humanoid 1, find something we can use to cover it." - Sarah.

The humanoid 1 nodded and start searching for several items they can use for covering the spacecraft.

"Team, we need to go back to our hideout and wait for Grace." - Sarah.

As Grace's team go to the science lab, they have found essential things they can use to formulate cure in the space. They pack everything they see in the lab which they think they can use to survive and formulate the cure.

Everything has been packed according to plan. It is already 4pm and they need to go back to their hideout.

As they make their way to the site, they found one humanoid outside the lab.

"There's an enemy outside. Humanoid 2, protect us," said Grace as she pull out her gun.

The Humanoid 2 realized that the humanoid outside the lab is the one that killed his family. That's why he immediately put out his sword and run towards the humanoid's position. The humanoid did not do anything when Humanoid 2 cut off its head using its sharp sword.

Humanoid 2 go back inside the lab... "You are now safe. Let's now return to the site. Quick!" - Humanoid 2.

While the group of Grace are going back to the hideout, they found out something going on to the bad humanoid's cite. The bad humanoids are forcing the skinny human slaves to dig in the soil searching for something. The humanoid 2 notice that the slave are searching for gold and silvers.

"Look at the slaves! They are searching for gold and silvers." - Humanoid 2.

"Why are humanoids want the Earth's gold and silvers?" Grace asked.

"Because gold and silvers are the primary ingredient in making humanoids weapons, armours and spaceships." - Humanoid 2.

"We have to hurry! That bad humanoids must not prevail in their slavery!" - Grace.

As the two groups unite in their hideout, they immediately settle everything. Humanoid 1 is assigned to carry on the spaceship and Sarah is on cammand. Grace's team are also busy on finding cure on the human's disease.

" Humanoid 1 reprogram the spaceship so that we can understand better its functions and the crue can operate the other system. The other crue check out the engine if its working, replace and repair what must be replaced and repaired. Activate as well the spaceship's gun and boosters" - Sarah

"Humanoid 2 tell me more about the humanoids, what are their strengths and weaknesses?" - Grace

"Humanoid's strengths are at their thick armours but their weakness point is at their heart and their head. Their heart is made up of alloy that can be burn instantly when heat immense. We can penetrate the humanoids heart at the back of their head, near the neck." - Humanoid 2 replied while showing its core system.

The scientists are more focused on developing cure, they have tried some sample blood from the infected person. They also carry a real infected person in the isolation room to try if the serum they are working on is effective.

The day is just the same as yesterday but Sarah and Grace are now full of hope and determination.

The day of take off came, Sarah and Grace's crue are all set and ready. The spaceship has been secured with guns, boosters and shield to protect them from heavy materials on space.

"Everyone! Put on your seat belts and ready to take off!" - Sarah

The engine starts slowly by slowly. Shaking all the people inside the spacecraft causing the other things to fall apart. Everyone is nervous. The Humanoid 1 is at the pilot seat while Sarah is on command. It takes two minutes before the spacecraft to reach the sky and the atmosphere's tension is getting higher and higher.

"Everybody relax! We can do this! Humanoid 1 activate the booster now!" - Sarah

The spaceship successfully reach out the outside of the atmosphere. Everything became light weight entering the atmosphere's zero gravity. The first timers to fly on space feel amazed of this experience. But suddenly the spacecraft's gravity became normal as they activate the gravity control.

"Everyone! Let's get started to work! Grace, any update on the serum? " - Sarah.

"We will try the first dose today, I'll update you as soon as there are some improvements." - Grace.

The First Try of Serum

The scientists have found out the virus classification of the human's disease. It is a viral virus found and being caught from the human's sweat and dirt coming from the mining cite of humanoids. Since the humans are being caught and became the humanoid's slaves, they couldn't eat, drink, take a bath or either pee and poop in a clean area. They also have sleepless nights and days that lead to severe case of the humans. The first dose of serum has been made and try. While the scientists are taking some video records something went wrong.

"This is the day one of the serum try to subject 101. The subject has normal temperature, mildly coughing and still skinny. I have here the syrenge of serum, injecting slowly at the subject's shoulder. Let's just wait after a minute to see the effect of the serum." - Scientist 1.

"Doc! The heartbeat of the subject is beating so fast! The temperature is 50 degree Celsius!" - Grace

After a minute, the subject died due to heavy fever and high dosage of serum. Everyone feel disappointed and depressed. The only hope of humanity gone in a blink of an eye. Everyone started to pack up all the materials used when suddenly one doctor collapse.

"Hurry! Get the stretcher! And put the doctor at the isolation room for observation!" - Grace

After that incident everyone became more conscious about their health, all close contacts must be self isolated in their room. They also start to wear protective gears such as masks and full body coverings. The doctor was diagnosed with severe virus being caught from the first subject.

"If I will be the second subject, I will be grateful if I can get the next serum that could save lives on Earth. I have no family left but in this way I still can give hope for those people who have familie." - Smilingly saying of the doctor.

"We will do our best to formulate the next best serum to secure your health Doc." - Grace said.

After a week, the condition of the doctor became severe and unstoppable. The doctor's immune system became weak and skinny just like the slaves on Earth. Knowingly that the doctor is still in the isolation area, the other nurses and doctors felt the same symptoms as the first doctor felt. Grace worried more on her health because she is the nearest close contact of all infected person but she never felt any symptoms.

"Why is it everyone is getting sick and yet I don't have any symptoms?" - Confused asking Sarah on the other side of the transparent room.

"Maybe because you have a better immune system.. Or? - Sarah 's thinking an idea.

" Or what? Tell me! I don't want to die! I still have plans in life. " -Grace asking with an afraid tone of voice.

" Or maybe your body has greater immune system to fight the virus and maybe! Maybe your body has formulated an antibody." - Sarah

In fact Sarah has a point but Grace is still confused and don't know what to do if she really have the antibody. Days after days have passed the condition of the other nurses and doctors became severe. Grace witnessed the others suffering and her heart melts as she know that she doesn't have the guts to do the right thing because she's afraid. Afraid to die, afraid to take the serum, afraid if her antibody didn't work and what if's are running around her mind. But she herd someone's voice at her back. It is the soul of her mother.

"Never be afraid my princess. I raised you to become equipped, strong and brave to face all the challenges. I am always here to guide you." - Her mom smilingly saying.

"Thank you so much mom! I will do the right thing to make you proud and I will never waste your sacrifices" - Grace answered with the tears falling in her eyes.

And Grace's mom soul figure slowly dissappear. And from that moment, Grace know what to do. She knew it that she really need to take the risk for the greater number of human race. Grace open the door of her isolation room and go immediately at the laboratory.

"Sarah you are right, I must do something for the betterment of the human race." - Grace.

"I am proud of you Grace! Don't worry, I will be here to support and take care of you." - Sarah

The experiment of Grace's blood started. Sarah take some blood samples of Grace and put in a microscop. The first try, Sarah observed Grace's blood if there are signs of virus where she named it as subject G1. Subject G1 has a dominant trait of Grace's bloodbut has minimal amount of virus. The second try, Sarah observed Grace's blood and combine a severe virus from the infected doctor who died in the first try of serum, she named it as subject G2. Subject G2 has the dominant trait of severe virus but when mixed and transfered at Grace's blood, the virus slowly dissappears. The subject G2 became successful and the third try is more surprising. Sarah decided to mix Sarah's blood with the serum and try to inject it in one infected person. After several attempts, Grace's blood became a serum that heals all the infected persons in the spaceship.

"Grace you are a big miracle to us! We are honoured and will always be grateful to have you with us! You are the hope of the human race." - Sarah said with a hopeful tone of voice.

"Thank you so much! I never imagine and dreamed to become the only hope of the human race but I give everything to help and save the human race." - Grace

All the scientists healed became busy on collecting Grace's blood and reproduce it into serum millions and billions of times. They are excited to go back on Earth and bring the good news to the human race.

" Before we go back on Earth, we have to make a plan on how to defeat the humanoids. We already have the knowledge on how to defeat the enemies yet we need to improve our weapons, spaceship's shields and armours. " - Sarah

"The allied humanoids can join the other humanoid, pretend like they are one of them and try to release some prisoners day by day just like before."One scientist suggested.

" Yes it can be but we need a bigger plan that will destroy the core system and cripple the power of the enemy. " - Sarah.

The unstoppable disease will now begin to fade as the group of Sarah and Grace made the massive action to defeat the heart of the dying number of human race. May their plan to save the human race prevails. Indeed the humanoids are not all bad, there are some who knows the rightious act. But humans must be saved from slavery. The very first thought that Sarah and Grace think but the impossible became possible. Everything will be back soon as the group of space heroes came home. But do they still have humans to save? Or do humanoids win the war against the human race? Does humans are still alive? Does bad humanoids still exist? Or do humans really give up on finding hope in the disease they are suffering? One thing Sarah and Grace know, they are hopeful of getting back the planet they are living in. The planet that humans should live not humanoids. The planet that they use to protect and nourish. The only planet that they needed more than any other planet.
