For the past few months, everything has started to come back together. Our lives are no longer the chaotic mess that we had to deal with. Instead, I'm actually hopeful. Hopeful of a new beginning, and hopeful of a fresh start. Now that the Dragons are gone, our lives have been significantly peaceful. Xavier continues to monitor the city, as we both know that while defeated, the Dragons will never completely disappear. Rather, they are just buying time, until someone new takes over. In the meantime, Xavier and I have been focusing on work. Keeping ourselves busy so that we can give ourselves a sense of normalcy.

I've been back to work for a few months now. While my original role was as Xavier's assistant, it has slowly evolved into an account manager/ human resources role. Xavier loved the work I did in the office to help build employee morale, that he had me shadow their Human Resources manager. Together we worked on ways to help improve the company's success.

A short while later, Xavier paged me to meet him in his office. I headed into his office nervous from what just happened. I may have just screwed up Xavier's plans. I begin to doubt myself, as all of my insecurities begin to resurface. My adrenaline high now gone. As I enter Xavier's office, I notice that he has his back turned to me, and is staring out the window."I'm sorry for what happened earlier. I was out of line. I shouldn't have interfered with your meeting. You were handling it fine without me. I don't know why I spoke up. Just it felt wrong what he was doing to you. I didn't like the way he treated you." I say with my head to the ground, not wanting to see his reaction.Without realizing it, Xavier has crossed the room, and is standing before me. He placed one finger below my chin, raising my head higher so that I look at him. Without saying anything he places his lips on mine, and pulls me in for a deep kiss. Surprised by his reaction, I don't respond to th

...Xavier POV...I hate the idea of being away from Lexi. I wanted to just cancel the meeting altogether, but Lexi was adamant that we shouldn't. It would be unprofessional to cancel last minute like this. I talked to Lexi about trying to reschedule the meeting, however we were aware that there were other investors looking at the properties. Postponing this meeting could risk the deal altogether.Getting this contract would increase the reach of Davenport Industries. It was a major deal that we couldn't let slip by. I was incredibly proud of Lexi for securing that deal. It had become like her baby. She started it from the ground up, now she wanted to see her work come to fruition. It was her first big project, and she was so proud of herself. I didn't want my fears to ruin this opportunity for her. So I sucked it up, and let everything continue as normal.Lexi's flight left late in the afternoon. I wanted to be there for her before her flight to

After I had been taken from the car, a black hood was shoved over my head, and my arms tied behind my back. I felt a sharp pain in the back of my head, and don't remember anything after.I look around, trying to figure out where exactly I am. Nothing looks familiar. I try to stand up, but the pain in my head is too strong. I fall back to the ground shortly after. Raising a hand to my forehead as if the gesture will help soothe my aching head."What the hell happened?" I find myself saying out loud, not anticipating an answer."You continue to disobey, that's what happened." I hear a voice say to me.I search the room trying to find the source of the voice, only to see a ghost leaning against the side wall."NO! This can't be happening! Y-you're dead!" I find myself backing further against the wall, trying to make myself as small as possible. Almost as though if I'm small enough, he won't see me. I know the attempt is futile, but my brain does

When I wake up, it feels as though I've been hit by a ton of bricks. My head is dizzy, and my vision blurry. The events leading up to this are foggy. I don't understand where I am, or what happened. I try to move my hands, which is when I noticed that I'm chained to a bed. I attempt to sit up, but my head begins to spin, forcing me back onto the bed. I try to look around the room for any clues. But my vision is so blurry, that it's hard to distinguish anything familiar.“Little Bear!” I hear a familiar voice call out to me.Which is when I begin to remember. The gun. Craig. Panic begins to rush through my body as I remember Craig had brainwashed me to kill Xavier. Tears begin to threaten, as I continue to recall shooting Xavier.I feel sparks shoot through my body, as a familiar touch begins to shift me from my delirium.“Xavier! No! They say a dream sequence is a depiction of desire and delusion and the unsettling consequences. It is a visual form of unconscious fears and desires, that transport us to visions of the past. What some may call a dream sequence, I call hell.I find myself waking up groggy in the medical room once again. It's like the worst ground hog day ever. Whenever I wake up, I can no longer tell whether I'm in a dream, a nightmare, or worse, reality. I look over at Jax sitting at the side of my bed, as the monitors continue to beep around me. At this point, I'm not sure how I want to proceed. Part of me is saying that everything's ok, and in any moment Xavier will walk in, and hold me in his arms. While the other part of me is saying that he's dead, and it's all my fault. When I wake up, everything seems to be a blur. I don't remember where I am, nor how I got here. • Rising From the Ashes   90. Brain Power

Many people underestimate the power of the brain. The brain alone can be your biggest confidante as well as our biggest downfall. Our brain is there for us, cheering for us on the sidelines allowing us to accomplish the impossible. However, a simple thought can make you question all of your life choices. The brain alone has the power to make someone rise to the occasion, or fall on their sword. The real question is, what will you do to survive? Will you give into the weak thoughts? Or will you overcome them, and triumph? There's a difference between living and alive. While I may be alive, I don't feel like I'm living. Hours have blended into days, days into weeks, and weeks into months. I don't have it in me to leave Xavier's side. Part of me feels as though if I leave him, I'll never see him again. While he may be in a coma, his presence alone makes me feel better. I'm calmer when I'm next to him. I spend my time daydreaming of the what ifs. Imagining what our lives would be

A few hours later, I am holding our handsome son in my arms. I feel content as I look into his eyes. I smile as I see my green eyes stare back at me. He's an exact copy of Xavier except for the eyes. I couldn't be more proud. I turn to look at Xavier, smiling contentedly as he looks back at both of us. He leans forward and places a kiss on my head."What should we call him?" I ask."Are you sure? Don't you want to name him?" He questions."I've already had my chance. I want you to name him." With Ryker in England, that meant that Xavier no longer had a second in command. A role which needed to be filled as soon as possible, however not just anyone would be eligible for the role. I say as I sit on his lap in his office.Ever since I've been released from the hospital, Xavier has all his things from the office transferred to the house. He does everything remotely, as he doesn't want to leave my side. He spends nearly every second of the day with me. At first, I thought it would be overwhelming, or that he would grow tired of me. Admittedly, he doesn't always get work done, however, I try to help him, to make up for our extracurricular activities.Xavier turns my head, to place a kiss on my forehead."I know as wel

True to her word, over the next few months, Sienna helped me gain control of the Dragons. As Jax had found out, the Serbs had no interest in their American counter parts. Rather it seems as though we did them a favour by eliminating Craig and his brothers. Shortly after I took control of the Dragons, Vlado, the leader of the Serbian Mafia reached out to us. He wanted to thank us for eliminating his troublesome family members, and offered us anything we want in return. We thought about it for awhile, when only when thing came to mind. We wanted peace. The best way to achieve that, was if we formed an alliance. This alliance would unite the Scorpions, Dragons, Serbs, along with the Knights. We would now be the most powerful organizations in the world. We had so many allies, that no one would ever dare to go against us.With Sienna and Xavier's help, I was able to transform the Dragons into an entirely new organization. The Dragons now closely resembled the Scorpions, how

That I'll continue to have to look over my shoulder in fear. Instinctively, I run my hand over my stomach, as my thought now goes to my unborn child. Will they have to live a life like me? Will their lives always be in peril? The thought alone makes my body shiver. I feel my blood run cold, just at the thought. As if sensing my nervousness, Xavier is quick to respond. ...Lexi POV...I was discharged from the hospital a few days later. Under supervision of Dr Lawson of course. Even though I had been discharged, Xavier didn't allow me to do anything myself. Rather he had become like my personal slave. If I needed to go to the bathroom, he would take me. If I wanted to g outside, he would carry me there. He cooked anything I wanted to eat. Which I can't complain, because he's an amazing chef.Even though I found the attention to be overwhelming at times, I didn't say anything. I still don't remember everything that happened, but I knew from the way he was acting, that he was afraid that he could lose me at any moment. While he had become good at hiding his true feelings, he could never fully hide them from me. Whatever happened, must've scared him shitless. From what I do know about what happened, I can only agree that his reaction is justified. I would be acting similarly, if not the same if our roles were reversed.

My eyes went wide as I saw one of the Doctors pinned to the ground, as Lexi held onto a needle, threatening to inject the doctor beneath her."What the hell is going on?" I shout. My men seem just as confused as me. It's as thought they have no idea what to do next. They know they can't shoot her, but they also know that if they were to injure her in any way, that they would pay with their lives. So instead, they stand placid, unsure as to how to move forward."We don't know what happened. We believe that she's trying to defend herself, but she doesn't seem to realize that we're just trying to help her." One of the nurses informs me.Instantly, I begin to understand. I've seen her do this once before. She's unconsciously defending herself. Her mind must be blending her nightmares with reality. Defending itself in the only way it knows how. By attacking. As

...Xavier POV...Shortly after Sienna had left, Ryker was discharged from the hospital. He had grown restless in the time that he had been in the hospital. With Dr Lawson's help, Ryker will be staying at my place for the next couple of months. He'll be monitored the entire time, to ensure nothing bad happens. But it also allows him a sense of freedom and normalcy. Ryker and I are very similar. We both need to feel as though we are accomplishing something. Not doing anything, just makes us more irritable. That alone is one of the many reasons as to why I have an at home clinic. Dr Lawson always said that I'm one of her worst patients. As I always go against her wishes.Matteo and Catherine helped with Ryker's transition to my house. In the meantime Catherine and Matteo are also staying at my house.
