Serenity's POV

After that incident 2 years ago, my dad, Lucan, stuck to his plan for me and I was home schooled and made to cook from that day onwards.

In 2 years the shit I cope from the pack hasn't changed and I am honestly reaching my breaking point.

I have had nearly every bone in my body broken multiple times, I've been beaten so badly I've nearly died 5 times, I've had internal bleeding, fractures, concussions, a punctured lung, contusions, I've been whipped with a silver whip 2 times for talking back to Alpha Lucan, I've been given wolfsbane 3 more times when I became "unruly", I've been locked in the cells for weeks on end, the list goes on of the torture and abuse I have suffered.

I am sick of being abused, yelled at, pushed around, used as a slave ect.

I turn 18 in a month and Artemis and I have decided that we're going to runaway from the pack, as we don't deserve to be treated like this.

I need to wait till I'm 18 as if I try leave before then and I get caught by any other pack I will be returned to my pack due to being a minor and I know that the beating I'll get from trying to run would kill me.

I have money aside that my gran left for me. I honestly don't know how much she left me and I don't really care but I know it will help me once leave.

Gran knew I would need it one day so she set up a secret account for me before she died and put money in it for me.

What was left of her fourtune went to my mum as she was an only child.

I'm in the kitchen preparing dinner when my brother Sutton walks in with his best friend Jayce.

" Serenity you bitch, where the fuck did you put my laptop when you cleaned my room you whore!" he yelled at me.

" It's in your desk draw where you put it before leaving for training, Dumbass" I replied, realizing to late that I had insulted him.

"WHAT. THE. FUCK. DID. YOU. JUST. CALL. ME!!!" Sutton growled loudly.

Fuck I am so going to cop it now.

"Umm...... I didn't say anything" I mumbled, lowering my head.

Suddenly I feel excruciating pain in my left hand. I look down to see that my brother had moved towards me and stabbed my hand with a silver dagger.

"If you keep mouthing off like that to me Serenity, next time I will stab you somewhere that will be a lot more excruciating than your hand, you understand me you fucking mistake? " Sutton spat to me, his eyes burning into mine.

" Yes Sutton, I understand" I reply through gritted teeth.

Jayce walks up and yanks the dagger out of my hand, I hiss from pain when he does. As they start walking away Sutton yells over his shoulder at me "dinner better be ready on time still, if it's not I will make sure father knows why it isn't and your punishment will be 10 times worse"

With that they left the room. I quickly bandage up my hand and get back to cooking dinner. I keep thinking how I'm so sick of this shit and I honestly would be better off dead.

"I know this is hard Ren, but hold on a just a bit longer, we will be out of here soon enough" Artemis says to me.

"I know girl, somedays are just harder than others" I reply. With a sigh I keep making dinner.

After I serve dinner to my family, I head out to the clearing I found a few years ago.

It's a cave that has a beautiful waterfall in front of it. The lake is so beautiful at night as there is no tree covering the sky so it all reflects onto the lake.

I love coming out here to let Artemis out to run, to get away from everything or to just sit and daydream.

Tonight I let Artemis out as she is very on edge due to everything that happens daily.

If it wasn't for Artemis I would of given up a very long time ago. She keeps me strong.

Being that she is a direwolf makes Artemis extremely different to a normal wolf.

Artemis is huge for a wolf. Sitting she is 6'5 tall. She's bigger than any alpha wolf that's for sure. On top of being bigger than a normal wolf her speed, hearing, sight, healing, reflexes and fighting skill are superior to normal a werewolf.

Being that Artemis is a special direwolf she has special abilities.

We can control all of the elements, have premonitions, sense a wolfs true intentions towards us, know when someone is lying, telekinesis, astral projection and teleportation.

This is the powers I have unlocked so far. There may very well be more we can do that we haven't discovered yet.

I have kept Artemis a secret from my family as I am worried they would either kill us straight away because they see us as a bigger threat or they would exploit us for their own personal gain.

It's been hard to keep her hidden from everyone, when we run we have to keep alert to make sure no one see us.

When my family abuse me i have to rein in Artemis as she wants to take over to protect me.

After letting Artemis out for a run we head back to our prison.

As I am walking into the kitchen I hear one of the warriors talking to my parents.

"Alpha Lucan, I was on patrol in the west of the territory tonight when I saw a Rouge. The thing is that it didn't smell like a Rouge and it was bigger than any wolf I've ever seen." he says.

"What do you mean it didn't smell like a rouge or look like a normal wolf? Explain! " my father demands.

"Well Alpha, the wolf was black from what I saw and huge, I wasn't able to tell if it's was a male or female, when I investigated the area, there was no scent at all. Myself and Reid saw the wolf, we tried to catch up to the wolf sir but they were just to fast for us. "

"OK, keep a look out for anymore sightings and double the border patrol on the off chance that this wolf is a Rouge. Is there anything else you can think of that might help us?" My father demanded.

"No Alpha" the warrior replied.

"Your dismissed Jack" my father replied.

SHIT!!!

I didn't think anyone saw us tonight. I quickly run back down to the basement and sit on my bed.

"Shit Artemis, I didn't think we were near patrols tonight, we will have to lay low for awhile and not let you shift till this blows over. I'm so sorry girl"

"It's OK. I'm not sure where they saw use either as I never sensed anyone close, so they must of been just outside of my range for sensing people"

"It's alright if we lay low we will be fine"

I lay down on my bed and try to sleep. Just as I am starting to drift off, the basement door is thrown open and I am grabbed by my brother Sutton.

He drags me up the stairs by my arm, pulling it out of the socket.

I whimper when that happens.

"Shut up bitch, father wants to see you" Sutton snaps at me.

He drags me all the way to the family room where my father is sitting with my mum and my brothers.

Sutton throws me down on the floor infront of father, he looks at me and I can tell he is extremely pissed off, this is not going to end well for me I don't think.

"Where did you go after dinner tonight, Serenity?" he growls at me.

"I went for a walk, I found a small lake with a waterfall, so I sat there for awhile" I reply submissively.

Fuck I hate submitting to this asshole, Artemis hates it even more than I do.

"Who the fuck said you could leave the packhouse and also how did you find that place, it's a place I had built especially for my Luna." he yells.

Lowering my head I say "No one said I could leave the packhouse, but I thought it was OK to as I have previously been allowed to go for a walk at night only, also I wasn't made aware that the place I found was for the Luna sir, I had never been informed of this"

SLAP!!!

My mother's hand connects hard with my face, causing my head to snap to the side. I feel something warm running down my lip, knowing that my mother had split my already busted lip open again.

"You should of never left the packhouse in the first place, I didn't give you permission to and you will receive a punishment for trespassing on my sanctuary " my mother yells at me.

"Statham! Take this little insignificant waste of space down to the cells, I will deal with her tomorrow." My mother yells to my brother.
