"Let's have a picnic at the lake today," Clarice said, eager to visit the lake again.
"Sure. I'll stay here on the farm the whole day today for the picnic, then tomorrow I'll go back to the mansion to take care of my Alpha duties," Alpha Callum said.
"OK." Clarice nodded her head. "Um, after the picnic at the lake, can we also go to the shopping mall? All of us? Grandpa and Lorey included. The more, the better," she said excitedly.
Alpha Callum went silent for a moment. "Hmm, why not? Let's just wear wigs, both of us, because our situation is complicated. The problem is our son. He might be wondering why we are wearing wigs. He asked questions a lot," he said, chuckling.
"Yeah. I'm also thinking about the same thing. Um, let's leave things as they are. Maybe we can find a solution to our problem one of these days," Clarice said, smiling.
Alpha Callum nodded his head. "Alright, let's leave that topic for a while. I'll go downstairs to have coffee with Pops," he said, getting out of bed.
"OK." Clarice nodded her head.
"Just stay here in the room and watch over our son, he might wake up anytime soon," Alpha Callum said, planting a kiss on his son's head.
"Okie Dokie," Clarice replied with a smile and lay back on the bed.
Alpha Callum walked to the door and exited the room. He went downstairs and headed to the kitchen to make himself a cup of coffee. He found Grandpa Eliezer sipping his coffee on the table.
"Morning, Pops!" Alpha Callum greeted him cheerfully.
"Good morning, son. Let's have coffee outside," Grandpa Eliezer said, rising to his feet.
"OK," Alpha Callum replied. After making his coffee, he left the house and joined Grandpa Eliezer on the wooden bench, facing the house.
There was a moment of silence between the two men.
"Son, what's your plan now that Caden is finally here and your family is complete? What are you going to do with your wife?" Grandpa Eliezer asked, wanting to know if Callum had already reached a decision to solve his complicated situation.
Alpha Callum took a sip of his black coffee and looked heavenward. "Hmm, I already have a plan, Pops," he replied.
Grandpa Eliezer raised a brow. "And may I know what your decision is?"
Alpha Callum took a deep breath. "Now that my family is complete, I have decided to divorce my wife," he said with finality in his voice.
Shocked, Grandpa Eliezer stared at Callum. A look of surprise was flashing in his eyes. "Really? Are you sure of your decision?"
Alpha Callum nodded his head. "Yes. I'm 100% sure, Pops. I was never happy with my marriage to Viviana. I never loved her the same way I loved Clarice. It's about time I freed myself from a loveless marriage and gave Viviana a chance to find her own happiness as well," he said in a serious tone.
Grandpa Eliezer nodded his head. "Alright, if that is your decision, then I will support you. When are you going to inform your wife that you are divorcing her?"
"After she comes back from her vacation abroad," Alpha Callum replied.
"I think there is a problem, son," Grandpa Eliezer said.
Alpha Callum's forehead furrowed. "What is it, Pops?"
"What if Viviana does not agree to the divorce? What will you do?" Grandpa Eliezer asked.
Alpha Callum was silent for a moment. "Honestly, she has no say in the matter. I am the Alpha of our pack. I am the husband, and I'm the one who make the rules in our household. So I got the upper hand," he said in an authoritative tone.
"And what if she agrees to the divorce but wants the pack back? We both know that you only inherited the Savage Howl Pack because the old man died and entrusted his daughter to you on his deathbed. She is the literal heir to the throne and the leader of the pack," Grandpa Eliezer reminded him.
Alpha Callum raised a brow. "What do you mean, Pops?"
Grandpa Eliezer sighed heavily. "What I'm saying is, she might agree to the divorce and take back her pack. Would you agree to hand over the leadership of the pack to her in exchange for a divorce? She had a fiery temper and used to get her own way. I already expected this kind of scenario from her based on her stubborn and headstrong personality. I want to know if this happened. Could you let go of the pack that already became your legacy?"
Alpha Callum fell silent for a moment, speechless. "I love Clarice and my son. I love my family. I'm willing to give up my leadership of the Savage Howl Pack, but Viviana inherited her father's hot-tempered nature and might act rashly when she finally becomes the leader of the pack. I'm afraid that, due to her anger that I divorce her, she will start destroying my legacy, attacking other packs that would start another chaos in the land. No, I can't allow that. I must protect the peace that I worked so hard for all these years."
Uncomfortable silence engulfed the two men.
"Son, if the time comes that Luna Viviana starts losing her mind due to hatred and jealousy, don't hesitate to subdue her. I know you treat women kindly, but some women will become the worst version of themselves when they are angry and their hearts are livid with jealousy. Not only will they become a danger to themselves, but to other people as well. Always remember that," Grandpa Eliezer warned him in advance.
"Noted, Pops," Alpha Callum responded grimly. Now that the solution to his problem has finally been revealed in the open, he feels at peace with himself. He hopes he will be able to anticipate what Viviana will do next after she learns the truth about Clarice and Caden.
"When will Luna Viviana return from her vacation abroad?" Grandpa Eliezer inquired again.
"Next month in the second week," Alpha Callum replied.
"You still have plenty of time to plan well," Grandpa Eliezer said, "and one more thing, once Luna Viviana sees Clarice and notices her as the dead Luna of the Bloodhound Pack she will inform Alpha Bruce and the enemies will be alerted, and it's chaos once again. The two women must never meet each other because Clarice is already a dead woman. So I suggest that you find a new place for Clarice and Caden to stay. It must be a safe place and near the school because the boy needs to go to school soon."
"Got it, Pops. Thanks for all the reminders, I appreciate it very much," Alpha Callum said gratefully. "Um, I have another matter to discuss with you, Pops."
"What is it?"
"Clarice's distant cousin Marina and her husband have lost their homes due to the heavy flooding in their hometown, so they are currently homeless. If I finally find a place for Clarice, Caden and Lorey, you will be left alone here. Is it okay with you if the couple stayed here on your land? I can build a small house for them at the other end of this place so they won't disturb your peace. This way you won't feel alone anymore," Alpha Callum said.
Grandpa Eliezer pondered the issue for a moment, then he said, "No problem they are allowed to stay here with me. No need to build another home. This house will become empty soon when Clarice, Caden and Lorey move out."
"Are you sure?" Alpha Callum asked, not wanting to impose himself on the old man since he values his space so much.
"Don't get me wrong, I value my peace... but I also like it when I have someone to talk to every day. So yeah, I welcome companions here in the house as long as they are good people, and they are willing to respect my privacy, then everything will be fine," Grandpa Eliezer said merrily.
"Great!" Alpha Callum said in relief. "Thank you, Grandpa."
"You know what? I realized that this place was huge. It's time to cultivate half of it and make it useful and productive. I want to plant more crops, fruit trees, create more vegetable gardens, build a fishpond and raise cattle here. So yeah, I definitely needed a spare hand to bring to fruition the vision I had in mind," Grandpa Eliezer said animatedly.
"I'll support your vision in this land all the way, Pops. And we both know money is not a problem," Alpha Callum said with a grin.
Grandpa Eliezer smiled broadly. "Yeah, money is not a problem because we have them in abundance," he replied conspiratorially.
The two men continue chatting about Grandpa Eliezer's vision of the land.
A few minutes later, Clarice and Caden approached their location and informed them that breakfast was ready.
They gathered around the dining table and ate their delicious meals, smiling at each other, happy to enjoy each other's company.
After breakfast, the couple played with their son on the floor of the living room.
Time passed by quickly and it was already lunchtime.
After they finished eating their lunch, they got ready for their picnic on the lake.
One hour later, the group can be seen walking on the path leading to the lake, carrying their bags and a basket of snacks for their picnic.
They stayed in the lake for the rest of the afternoon, fishing, swimming and just soaking in the perfect weather while listening to mellow music blaring from a portable music player that Grandpa Eliezer bought for the occasion.
Caden was laughing animatedly, having a blast in the lake surrounded by his loving parents.
Grandpa Eliezer was sitting on the wooden chair, chilling, enjoying his fishing.
Everyone was having a good time on that special day.
