VIOLET
“Okay, so what’s the plan?” I started immediately, thinking it better if they went straight to the point.
It was great that we were on the same page now. At least we both had a common goal in mind. Taking down West Creak pack once and for all. Lucian would be the perfect person for the job. He probably saw me as just some disposable pawn he could use but I saw him the same way.
“Come on.”
Lucian gestured for me to follow him. I sent Zayn a quick glance. The beta gave me an encouraging nod. I let out a breath before making my way after Lucian.
Lucian lead me into a room that appeared to be his office. It was a well-furnished office that seemed to highlight the Alpha’s taste.
He had gone back to seating on his chair and even gestured for me to sit down. I took a quick glance at Zayn. He was no longer standing and had opted for taking a seat. He had an unreadable expression on his face so I couldn’t even try to decipher what he was thinking. Letting out a breath, I took the seat and focused my attention on Lucian.
Everything he did looked graceful without him even having to try. He looked so good just seating down on the chair. I couldn’t believe I had thought of Tristan as this overly-attractive being. If Tristan had been an angel to me, then Lucian was a Greek god. The personification of Adonis.
“You’ll tell me all you know about West Creak Pack. It’s weaknesses, its strengths and anything that’ll give me an upper hand. You’ll also give me all the information on what you know about Tristan. I want everything you know. Everything.” Lucian explained, his gaze never leaving mine as he did.
I listened in silence as he went on with his explanation. Even though I’d been more or less a shadow in the pack, I was quite aware of most of daily activities of the pack. I knew more about the pack than most of them had given me credit for.
The walls had ears, and I was well aware of every single whisper and all the hushed conversations. Being invincible to most of the pack members had made that easy and possible.
“Okay. And you’ll help me take Tristan and the pack down?” I asked.
“Of course. I’ll help you with that.” Lucian replied, an air of nonchalance in his voice.
I frowned upon hearing that. A part of me felt that he probably wasn’t taking me as seriously as he ought to. I pushed the feeling down and tried to show Lucian that I wasn’t here to mess around one bit.
I wasn’t some pushover that would just agree to whatever terms he decided to give out. If it didn’t benefit me, I would not be going through any of it. I watched as he sat up straight before speaking again.
“You’ll need to play the role of Luna and mate. We have to make sure they are all convinced of this relationship. By they, I mean everybody. Both my pack members and even other rival packs. They need to believe we are truly in love with each other.”
I watched as he gingerly got up from his seat and slowly stalked his way closer to me. My heart thumped harder against my chest with each step he took. He stopped when he was behind me. I didn’t expect him to suddenly lean down close to my ear.
The faint feeling of his lips brushing against my ears was enough to send a shiver down my spine. The only thing I could pay attention to was my heart pounding hard and the blood rushing to my ears. Why was it so hot all of a sudden?
“Can you do that for me, Murray?” His voice was barely above a whisper.
I swallowed down before slowly turning to him. His face was just inches away from mine. He was so close that I could feel his breath fanning my face.
“Sure. If you can play the perfect Alpha for me.” I matched the tone he’d used.
We remained like that, staring at each other for what felt like forever. Lucian eventually tore his gaze away from me and walked back to his chair. He was now focusing his attention on Zayn. I tried to ignore the way my whole body felt like it had been set aflame. My heart was still pounding loud and fast. It all felt so crazy.
“You really think this will work?” He asked Zayn.
“Oh definitely.” The beta agreed. “If Tristan gets word of this, he’d definitely be pissed when he realizes your mate is Violet. The one he rejected.”
“Now that I think about it, he’d go nuts.” Lucian chuckled, resting his chin on his hand.
“He sure will. I believe it’s going to work. The pack members would be at ease, you’ll get vital information about West Creak and further strengthen your stand. You’d be killing multiple birds with one stone.” Zayn explained, a wide grin on his face.
My frown morphed into a look of irritation. I glared from Lucian and Zayn, wondering who I should hit with my shoe first.
“I am not a stone.” I huffed.
“Sure thing sweetheart.” Lucian smiled flaccidly before turning back to Zayn. It only infuriated me even more and once again, I felt the indescribable urge to chuck something at his face. Preferably a brick.
“I like the sound of that.” He said, nodding his head.
“Well, I guess that settles it then.” Lucian started, getting up from his seat. I got up instinctively, my chest rising with nervous anticipation.
With this, I would no longer be a rogue and would be under Lucian’s protection. Well, his protection wasn’t exactly guaranteed but at least I wouldn’t be living with the fear of encountering Tristan’s wrath.
He walked up to me and closed the distance between them. I tried to move backwards but he pulled my waist closer to him so their bodies were now pressed together. It felt like my heartbeat had skyrocketed at the simple action.
It was so easy to get lost in his grey eyes. I found myself unable to tear my gaze away from him. I could now clearly see the rose tattoo just peeking out of the collar of his shirt. He had multiple piercings on his face though he only had on a lip ring at the moment. He was staring at me so intensely that it took a lot of focus not to look away from him.
“First things first.” Lucian said, his gaze travelling to my neck.
My beat sped up as different thoughts ran through my head. What was he about to do?
“What?” The words left my mouth breathless.
Lucian stared at my neck for a moment before his eyes raised up to meet mine. He had a knowing look in his eyes and I understood very well what he meant by that; what he was trying to say. I took in a shaky breath before strengthening my resolve.
“You can go first.” He said out of the blue.
I tried to hide my surprise but I doubted if I even managed to do that well. I didn’t know why he was offering to do that. Did he notice how nervous I was? Was this some sort of show of goodwill? It definitely wasn’t it. I’ve heard a lot of things about Lucian Sinclair. He wasn’t one to present any form of goodwill.
I gave him a nod and watched as he took of his suit jacket. He tossed it on the desk before removing the first few buttons of his shirt. When he was done with that, he bared his neck for me.
I took in a deep breath before moving closer to his neck. Everything was all happening so fast that I barely had anytime to step back and give things a second thought. This was what I wanted so there was no point in trying to rethink things now. I had to do it. It was now or never.
I closed my eyes and sank my fangs into his neck. He didn’t even flinch as I marked him. After some seconds had passed, I removed my fangs and moved away from him. There were small dots of blood running down his neck where I’d just marked him.
“My turn.” The smile he had on his face sent a cold chill down my spine.
I felt the indescribable urge to just bolt out of the door and get as far away from him as I could. Sadly, I knew I couldn’t do that. It was too late to think that anyway. I’d already marked him. He would have to do the same to me.
Moving my hair to the side, I closed my eyes and bared my neck to him. He pulled me closer by the waist before leaning closer to my neck. I couldn’t help but wince when his teeth made contact with my skin. He dug his fangs into my neck, staying there for a few seconds removing them.
I opened my eyes when he finally let go of me and moved back towards his desk. The warm liquid trickling down my neck was a firm indicator that I’d been marked.
It was done now. The mark had more or less sealed the beginning of my end. Lucian had a spine chilling smile on his face.
“Welcome to Dark Moon Pack.”
VIOLET“Why not just do the world a favor and die, you ugly bitch!”If I could count the amount of times I had been told that, I’d probably get tired at some point and just call it quits. It was something that all my pack members had never hesitated to repeat over and over again. The man who had pushed me to the wall sent me an ugly sneer before letting out a huff and walking away. I was supposed to have been used to such treatment by now. I shouldn’t be affected by it anymore. Still…I couldn’t fight back the tears that spilled down my cheek.I bit my lip, lowering my head and walking up the flight of stairs. I kept my head down till I reached my room; no point in angering any more pack members. It felt like my heart was being shattered into thousands of pieces and there was nothing I could do about it.“W-What?” The words left my mouth in a stutter.“You heard me. I don’t want you as my mate. The sooner you get that into your head, the better.” He looked at me with disgust, written all over his face.If looks could kill, I’d probably underneath the earth.
