Chapter four

Erica was frozen in her spot as she felt tingles run down her spine. This wasn't supposed to happen. She had already had one mate and he had wanted nothing to do with her. In Fact the only thing that he had done was to rip out her heart from her chest.

She felt a figure look behind her and she dared to look towards him. She gasped at the sight of the man with glowing amber eyes and brown hair that was pulled into a bun.

She slapped as she felt her throat dry up as she took a closer look at him. “What is going on here”. He said to her as he let go of her after a moment. He was able to pull his eyes away from her after a moment as he turned towards the council with a glare.

“This young woman had come here making claims and quite frankly we have grown bored of them.” She heard the woman speak and the other man growled at her growled. The sound causing a shiver to run down her spine.

“And why would you be so rude as to send her away. How about you hear what she had to say first”. He said and she felt an unwanted flutter go off in her chest. 

She watched as he fell away from Her and his gaze turned cold before he laid his way towards the high chair. “Proceed with what brings you here. Be fast and don't waste our time.” He said to her.

She felt her heart squeeze at his harsh tone toward her but she didn't know what she had expected from home. “I am here to beg the council to take proper action against Alpha Alexander Slade. He is the one who is responsible for the murder and the destruction of my entire pack. He must be put to a stop.” She said.

She watched as the room fell silent. “And why should we believe you? Do you know what consequences could have on waging war on the second strongest alpha in the world.” She heard the girl on the side say.

“Because I am living proof of that torture I will bare my back to you if that's what it will take for you to believe me”. She said as she raised the bottom of her shirt to reveal the bottom half of her back. She had as the people gasped loudly and the sound echoed through the room.

She tried as she slowly heard a loud growl. “Cover it up now”. She heard her mate say and she rushed to do so. She turned back around to see the council looking between each other. Her heart felt as though it was ready to jump out of her chest as she watched them contemplate over her.

“We apologize but we must all come to a unanimous and unbiased decision. We do both interfere with matters unless it is that which affects the entire supernatural realm. Because your matter is one of the wolves you will be directed towards Sev. He will get to decide whether or not he will choose to go through with it.” She heard Talaq say.

They all turned towards Sev as she held her breath. She didn't know what she was to expect from him as the man seemed to be unpredictable and for am she knew he could say anything to her.

“I don't wish to interfere. It is too messy and I will risk losing too many lives”. She he said and she felt her heart sink. She refused to cry as she had already shed too many tears in the last few days.

“So This is a great and powerful council. A set of weak fools and you. I thought you were supposed to be there for me and to protect me. Id this what you call protection and is this how you help. You are a spineless lot. And one day you will surely reward what you did”. She says as her words echoed through the room.

She watched as he shot up from his seat as he stared at her his eyes changing from gold to amber. “Be careful what you say. I may not want anything to do with you but you will not disrespect me.” He growled but she only scoffed at him in response.

“Okay it is clear that something isn't being said here. What is going on with the two of you? Sev?” She heard the man behind him say. She I haled deeply as she waited for him to respond. She didn't know why but she didn't know what to expect.

“She is my mate.” He said to them. She watched as they gasped loudly. “Well this is joyous news . I thought that you would never have a mate. But now I see that it wasn't your time. So why do you continue to toss her around? Why haven't you agreed to help her yet.” She heard Talaq say and she found the sight confused.

“Because she will not do me any good. I haven't had a mate in four hundred years and I am not in need of one now. I haven't grown bored or sluggish just yet '' he said to her in a gruff tone.

“Well. You remember what they had told you. You turn five hundred in a few weeks and you have found the girl. Your prophecy is coming to light and it is up to you to make sure that it is fulfilled you can't continue to go beating about the bush.” He said to Him .

“She will only cause me more trouble And in the end I will do nothing but ruin her”. He said to him and Erica hated the way that they seemed to talk over Her.

“I am sorry but can you not talk over me like I am not here. I need help, that is all. I am not in desperate need of a mate, someone that I will worship at their feet. I only want my family to be able to find peace eventually. That is all. You can keep your brooding to yourself. I desire none of it”. She said to her and she watched as the others smiled.

“You will not have a choice in this matter . She will come with you back to your pack and that is the end of it. You know how your reputation goes and there are those who have begun to rebel against the workings of the council and it is up to you to change that narrative. She will help you rebuild your image.” He said to him in a coercive tone.

“You will have to do better than that.” He said with a scoff. She watched as the other an looked at him with a raised eyebrow. “Well how about you riddle me with this. I will suspend you from the council until you are able to win over your people and you can't do that without your mate.” He said and she watched as Sev shot out of his seat.

“You are not do that.” He said and she watched as Talaq stood. “That was the blood oath that you signed and if you either fulfill your duties I am allowed to replace you. Your neighbor seems more than willing.” He said with a smirk.

She watched Sev grit his teeth and he sighed in defeat. “It is settled. You two are to be bound and mated at once.”
