A few days had passed since Ava confronted Derek about Tristan, and the tension that had hung over us had transformed into a fragile optimism. The doctor had just confirmed that Derek was a match for Tristan’s bone marrow transplant, and while there was still a long road ahead, it felt like we were finally moving in the right direction.
