I stop in front of the imposing Arslan mansion, and a wave of emotions engulfs me. It feels like light-years have passed since the day I left this place, even though only six months have actually gone by. Apprehension grows inside me, not having the slightest idea of what awaits me behind those doors.

Ahmet summoned me for a special meeting, sending me a letter claiming to have information about Melek. My heart burns with fury at the mere possibility that Ahmet might have been the one who ended Melek's life. If that turns out to be true, I won't rest until he pays for his crime.

However, I also feel some disappointment in how little Derya revealed to me. All she told me was that Ahmet has a safe house on the outskirts of the city, in the countryside, and that she once overheard him mention Melek's name, speaking of her as if she were alive. These words have given me a glimmer of hope, the hope that Melek, the love of my life, is still alive.
