They all went straight to the dining table and all I could do was follow them.

As soon as Evan and Zoey saw Alpha pull out a chair to sit at, they left the table and ran back to their room as if they were on cue.

“Have you thought about it?” Wade sat in front of him with his intertwined hands on top of the table. “I hope that you’re here to hear you agree,” he continued.

“I’ve told you my decision. It’s a no, Alpha Wade.”

Though their conversation was calm, I could sense the tension between them two. It feels like both of them were just holding back themselves and could burst out by any chance they get.

I remained standing not so far by the dining table, playing with my fingers, until I felt Beta Hans’ eyes on me. He was meaningfully raising his eyebrows.

To lessen the tension, I decided to grab two glasses of water and serve them to each of them.
