“I wonder where she got the sudden nerve to act like that! Didn't she know who Iris is?!” I could still hear their chattering voices before they completely faded into my eyes.

I immediately faced Mandy who was timidly standing behind me.

“Are you alright?” I asked, holding her shoulders as I tilted my head to find her eyes.

Without uttering a word, she wrapped her arms around me to hug me tightly. “Thank you so much, Lily.”

“But you don’t need to do that for me,” she added, pulling herself back while wiping her wet eyes.

“Why not? You couldn’t decline her, and she was obviously just making fun of you.”

“Exactly, Lily. Iris was making fun of me and I was completely aware of that.”

Puzzled, my brows formed into a thin line.

Mandy took a deep breath, “I’m used to her embarrassing me like that. Even though people knew me as Iris’ friend, I was never treated like one, not even as a Pack member. Iris loves to label people as her friends merely for popularity. She does nothing but be pr
