I can hear the commotion from outside the hall where I am standing but I am in no hurry to go in and quiet everyone down. Instead, I turn back around and head for my room and collapse on my bed. “She’s pregnant with Derek’s child? How is that possible, Ida?” “It doesn’t sound as impossible as you make it seem. I hurry over to the edge of the bed when Ramsey stumbles to it, fighting with the buttons of his dress shirt. “W-what do y-you mean wedding n-night?” I ask in disbelief. “Come on.” Ramsey mutters to himself, still struggling with his shirt. “If that creep touches you, I’m tearing his hand off.” Ida growls. “Ramsey, you’re drunk, why don’t you go back to your room?” When he gets even closer to the bed, I scramble off of it and push myself into a corner. “What are you talking about? I turn away from Ramsey and face the door, trying to keep my emotions in check. Falling apart in front of him is exactly what he wants from me and I refuse to give him the satisfaction of seeing me break down in front of him. “I want my own space. It takes some time for me to get to my senses, pull myself up and off from the ground and start looking for a way to fix this mess. Ramsey had not locked me back into the suite, probably assuming that I was going to curl up into a ball and cry myself to sleep. He was dead wrong.
