As they placed their orders, they eagerly awaited their meals, savoring the drinks that accompanied their conversation. Suddenly, Jude interjected, "Guys, isn't that Lea over there?" gesturing across the street.
Liam's gaze darted in the direction Jude indicated, his expression souring as he spotted Lea engaged in lively conversation with two men.
"Did she mention she was coming here?" Vickey inquired, noting Liam's reaction.
"No, I didn't ask where or with whom she was going," Liam replied, still fixated on Lea.
"Who is she with? Do you recognize them?" Sharen probed.
"No," Rayan said.
"One of them is William; he's a student at our college. The other man looks familiar, but I can't remember where I saw him," Liam remarked, furrowing his brow.
Observing Lea embrace the familiar man and peck him on the cheek, Liam abruptly rose from his seat. "Since she's here, let me invite her to join us," he announced, striding toward the exit.
"Why didn't he just call her?" Sharen muttered, attempting to stop him, but Liam had already left, paying no heed.
In Liam's absence, Sharen turned to the others with a sigh. "Are we sure he's only seeking answers, or is there something more?" she questioned.
Everyone shook their heads in uncertainty, their attention shifting back to the window where they watched as the man Lea had greeted departed in a car. Lea followed suit, leaving with William in another vehicle.
Minutes later, Liam returned to find no trace of Lea. Frustrated, he was about to call her when Rayan's call came through.
"Hello?" Liam answered.
"I've been trying to reach you. Why aren't you picking up, man?" Rayan's voice carried a hint of annoyance.
"What's wrong?" Liam inquired, his tone indifferent.
Rayan sighed audibly. "She left a while ago with one of the men you identified as William."
"And the other man whom she kissed?" Liam pressed.
"He went in a different direction, in another car," Rayan replied.
"Hmm," Liam murmured.
"Come back now; the food is getting cold," Rayan instructed.
"Alright, I'm on my way," Liam acquiesced before ending the call.
Rejoining the group, Liam remained silent as they finished their meal and headed home.
On the other side…
In a penthouse at Royal Peak, Tressa unleashed her frustration over the phone.
"What the hell are you doing? It's been a week, and you haven't found a single piece of information about an ordinary girl like her... If you can't handle such a simple job, what's the point of calling yourself a hacker?" Tressa's voice reverberated with anger as she berated the person on the line.
"We've tried our best, Princess, but the person protecting her data has formidable hacking skills," the hacker replied meekly.
Tressa seethed with impatience. "If you can't provide me with anything useful about her within the next two days, prepare to face the consequences," she warned before abruptly ending the call and flinging her phone onto the bed in frustration.
Meanwhile, after Tressa ended the call...
The person on the other end clenched his fist and struck the wall, his frustration boiling over. "Who does she think she is? Always bossing us around... Does she think we have nothing better to do than cater to her whims?"
"Easy, buddy, someone might overhear you... Despite not being the queen's biological daughter, she wields considerable influence," his friend Tim cautioned.
"And you know as well as I do that going against her would spell disaster, just like it did for Victor," Tim added.
"But how can I stay silent when she constantly exploits us like this? We're not her lackeys..." David's protest was cut short by Tim's interjection.
"Even if she abuses her power, we're powerless to act. She has plenty of sycophants eager to curry favor with her," Tim reminded him.
"In this place, evidence is paramount, and with their help, she can fabricate as much as she pleases. If we oppose her, we're finished. So let's calm down and figure out what she wants so we can be done with it," Tim suggested."But that's the problem—I've exhausted every avenue, and I can't uncover anything about this girl. Even the second prince sought details from the chief, but even he came up empty-handed," David confessed."What? The chief couldn't find someone's information? Why wasn't I informed about this?" Tim exclaimed."Lower your voice! What if someone overhears us?" David glanced around cautiously before continuing. "The second prince instructed the chief to keep it under wraps. I only know because the chief reached out for assistance as the Deputy Chief was on vacation.""Our systems were nearly fried by a virus when he delved deeper into her records," David added grimly."Unbelievable. The chief ranks among the top ten on the
In the Magical World of Dragons...Within the grandeur of the Alynthia Palace, a sense of urgency filled the air as a young woman ascended the stairs with purpose."Princess Elena," a maid greeted her, bowing respectfully."Please, rise," Elena replied briskly before inquiring, "Where is my brother?""Prince Erick remains in his chamber, Your Highness. He has yet to awaken," the maid responded. With a nod of acknowledgment, Elena dismissed the maid and proceeded towards her brother's quarters.Upon entering, she found herself met with the concerned gazes of her family."Elle what are you doing here?" her father, Henry Beaufort, King of Alynthia inquired."You thought to keep news of Erick's accident from me, Father?" Elena's tone was sharp with accusation."It's not like that, Elena. Father merely wished to spare you needless worry. Erick's injuries are not severe; the physician assures us he will awaken soon," Daniel, h
"Hello?" Elena answered."Girl, you got me worried. You should have at least messaged before leaving," Liam chided gently."Sorry," Elena apologized, then there was silence for a few seconds before Liam asked, "How is your brother now?"To which Lea explained, "He is still unconscious. The doctors have said he might regain consciousness once the medical effects wear off.""What happened? How did this accident happen?" Liam inquired further."I don't know exactly yet. We just know it occurred when he was on his way to another meeting after seeing me yesterday. We'll have to wait for him to wake up to know the full story," Elena replied."Don't worry; he'll be fine," Liam reassured her."Yes, he has to," Elena replied, her voice tinged with emotion, as Liam comforted her."By the way, don't you have a class now?" Lea asked him."Yes, I just came out to make this call. It's fine," Liam assured her."Thank you. Now, g
On the other side, in the Kingdom of Asterin, Queen Elizabeth was having lunch with her daughter, Alisha, who had returned home a few days prior after a long journey."Mom, are you sure you want to conduct the last rites for Aisha on the anniversary of her disappearance?" Alisha asked, her voice tinged with doubt."She's no longer with us, Alisha. We must come to terms with that. Despite our exhaustive efforts, we haven't uncovered any clues indicating she survived that fall," Elizabeth replied, her tone heavy with sorrow."But without evidence of her death, without finding her body...," Alisha interjected, her agitation growing."This is difficult for me as well, Alisha. Please don't make it harder," Elizabeth pleaded, her voice strained."Mom, please! We've waited for her for so long. Why not wait a little longer? I know she's out there somewhere. I can feel it. It's the twin bond," Alisha persisted, her conviction unwavering."Alisha, eno
After some time he chided himself, "I am such an idiot, how can I just blurt out my feelings like that?". "I just hope this incident today won't affect our friendship at least. I could at least have a chance to speak to her even though I can't be with her"Alone, Liam berated himself for his impulsive outburst, fearing it might irreparably damage their friendship. Despite his yearning for a chance to speak with her, he knew the boundaries that now loomed between them.In the days that followed, both Liam and Lea maintained a cautious distance, their interactions marked by an unspoken tension. Attempts to broach the topic of Liam's confession proved futile, their shared silence echoing the weight of unspoken words.Noticing the subtle shift in dynamics, their friends devised a plan for a beach outing, hoping to provide them with a chance to find common ground. Reluctant at first, Liam and Lea eventually relented, drawn in by the promise of respite amidst the c
Confusion clouded Lea's features. "What do you mean?"Liam took a moment to gather his thoughts before continuing, "Do you remember my uncle? The one I mentioned at the race track?"Lea nodded, and asked, "Yes, what about him?""He had twins when I was five," Liam revealed, his expression solemn as he prepared to unravel the tangled threads of his past."What does that have to do with what we were speaking about?" Lea questioned confusedTo which Liam answered "It does have a link to our conversation so just hear me out fully first" to which Lea nodded in agreement and then Liam continued."As I was saying, my uncle had twins when I was five years old. When I first saw them, I was so mesmerized by just looking at them that I instantly made an oath to protect them with my life. All the adults in the room started laughing," Liam recounted, his voice tinged with nostalgia."One of the twins had red eyes like raging fire, and the other ha
Looking at her reaction which looked genuinely confused Liam thought to himself "Am I really wrong about her? Is she not who I thought she was?". After all, he had said all that he said today for two reasons one to get confirmation about his doubts about her identity, and secondly to clear things out with her regarding his emotions. "Have you gone crazy, Liam? How can you even think that? I have my own family with a father who loves me the most and brothers who care for me more than their lives," Lea said, her voice rising in frustration. "And did you just fall in love with me because you think I'm the person you missed all these years? Here I thought you really loved me for who I am. I'm such a fool," she added hurt and angry. She tried to get up and leave, but Liam grabbed her hand. "You're taking my words the wrong way, Lea. I wanted no lies between us before I made my stand clear," he said. "Yes, I initially got close to you because of the doubts I had, but I fell in lov
At that moment, Liam felt Lea's weight shift as she began to lose consciousness, only remaining upright because he was holding her. He quickly caught her, gently patting her cheeks. "Hey... Lea... Lea, wake up. Can you hear me? What happened?" Just then the hand he placed on her neck felt something so he gently turned her to one side only to see a poisonous dart stuck to her neck. At the sight of that, his eyes widened and he looked up and searched the surroundings when he saw a few men in black robes with a mask covering their faces walking towards them. Liam swiftly created a light barrier around himself and Lea then pulled out his phone and dialed the first number in his emergency contacts. "Hello?" Rayan answered. "Get out here fast. Gantrick Knights have attacked us," Liam said urgently, creating a light barrier around himself and Lea. "What?" Rayan exclaimed, shocked. "How did those devils find us?" "I don't know, but they've shot Lea with a poisonous dart. Her skin is t
Back at the Place the sun was setting as Elena stood outside at the entrance of the palace waving bye to her friends who were flying away on their dragons. Elizabeth came and stood next her looking at the group flying away as she asked “I have sent them away as you requested, when do you plan to go?”. A few hours before… “Is Aunt Beth in her office uncle Allen?” Elena asked Allen who coincidentally came near Elizabeth’s office at the same time as her. Allen smiled as he replied “Yes princess, Her Majesty is in the office only, please come in with me” as he knocked on the door to the office. They soon received a reply “Come in” as both of them walked inside the office. “Elena?” Elizabeth looked at her confused a little but still asked in a calm tone with a smile on her face “What brings you here, Is there some problem?”. Elena smiled a bit tensed as she nodded “Yes Aunty”. Elizabeth got up from her chair behind the desk and came to where Elena was standing as she placed
“What does that sorry count for now? It's not like it can bring back the people I lost” “Yes it can’t bring them back but if you can forgive me and join hands with me we can get our revenge and build back the Knights of Gantrick that has fallen. This time we can be more powerful and more strong, that no one can bring us down”. “What are you saying?” “I will help you take over Asterin by killing the queen and we can rule over this kingdom together and once we have Asterin in our palms it’s not so difficult to track down those phantoms and get our revenge”. “Hahahaha…” Silva started laughing uncontrollably “You have lost it… Hahaha… you have lost your mind completely. You want to take over a kingdom with the help of the handful of people I have under me? You want me to lead the few who survived to their death bead to fulfill your fantasy like that fool brother of mine?” “No one is going to die, listen to my plan first and then come to a conclusion. Okay?” Listening to the confide
At the same time in Tressa’s room she was speaking on the phone with someone standing on the balcony. “You bit*h you dare to call me now after all that we had to go through because of you?” the person on the other side of the line said angrily. “I know what you went through was really bad and I did not accept them to react that way for that human” Tressa said trying to calm down the other person. “Hahaha…” The person on the other side of the line gave out a sarcastic laugh “You did not expect?... fine I will understand that but this question for me, why did you not receive our calls when we were trying to contact you for help?” Tressa balled her fists and closed her eyes as she took in a deep breath to calm herself down. “Speak up you bit*h” the person on the other line roared angrily after not hearing any answer from the other side. Listing to this the anger Tressa was trying to tame broke out of her control as she spoke, “I could not contact you because that damned mother of
"Master there is a small issue but I don't know if it's something to be worried about or not so I called you" Master Kai became instantly alert and asked in a serious tone, "What happened, dear?" "This morning, after I woke up, I saw a streak of hair had turned back to golden, which means my power is coming back. But it is too early this time compared to previous occasions and your estimated time. Will everything be okay, Master, or is the seal broken somehow?" Master Kai thought for some time and then instead of answering asked her a question "Why do you think it's broken? Did something happen recently?" "Elle, what happened?" "I... I was…" Elena stammered "I was attacked by the Knights of Gantrick recently… and I was poisoned by dragon poison during this attack." "What? How dare they lay hands on my only disciple?" Master Kai Von exclaimed, completely angered. Listening to the anger in his voice Elena continued in a meek voice "And I think my powers forced itself to break the
"Thinking over what you said, it does sound like there's some truth to your words. But didn't Master Yi say that he checked Lea by inserting his spiritual energy into her body and didn't find any trace of power?""He did, and I also checked myself without alerting Lea but didn't find any traces of power inside her. That's why I've been cooped up in the library for the past few days, trying to find if there are any artifacts or spells that can block detection when checked with spiritual energy, but I haven't found anything yet." "You should have spoken to Sharen, she knows more about artifacts than anyone else among us.""I did try, but she's been busy with something these past few days. I can hardly see her or Alex in the palace.""Yeah, that's true. Even I noticed. I don't know what those two are up to these days. Anyway, don't worry, we'll figure out something," Rayan said, patting Liam's shoulder. Then, after a moment, he added, "By the way, what's happening between you and Lea th
A few days pass by just like that and then a week later…Liam was standing on a balcony, gazing at the town outside the palace gates, when someone walked in his direction. Turning his head, he saw Rayan approaching."What are you doing here?" Rayan asked, stopping next to him."Just sorting out a few things in my mind... Anyway, what brings you here?" Liam replied, turning back to the scenery below."I was on a call with Peter. He said you asked him to find someone.""So that lazy head is complaining to you instead of doing his work?" Liam said as he walked to a nearby chair and settled down in a carefree manner.Rayan sighed, moving to the empty chair opposite Liam. "He didn't complain but was scared to speak to you since he couldn't find anything about that person even after searching for a week now."Liam let out a deep breath and shook his head lightly. "Expected. How could it be so easy...""But why did you ask him to check regarding Master Kai Von's disciple all of a sudden? Did
Liam, who was walking with Lea to the dining hall, suddenly stopped. He pulled Lea into an embrace and leaned against a pillar."What are you doing? What if someone sees us?" Lea asked, agitated, looking around to check if anyone was coming."Don't worry, not too many people use this route as this route is longer compared to the other one."Lea sighed in relief and then looked at him. "Then why did you take this path?""Because I couldn't take any more of your staring. Now, tell me what's on your mind?" Liam asked, brushing back a loose lock of hair from Lea's face.Lea sighed, a bit embarrassed at being caught. "I... I never knew you had this side to you. It felt really good to be protected like that. Though my father and brothers always stand like a protective barrier around me, what you did today felt different. I don't know how to explain it."A smile bloomed on Liam's face. He bent his head and gave a gentle kiss on her forehead. "I promise I will always protect you, whether we'r
Everyone was stunned. Tressa, one of the kingdom's best in sword fighting, had delivered a powerful strike, yet Lea had blocked it as if it were nothing."Come on, sister Lea, you can do it!" Alina's cheer broke the silence. The crowd's eyes lit up with excitement. "This match is going to be interesting," they thought. "This human is not so bad…"Alisha smiled at Tressa's state and cheered with Alina, "Come on, Lea, you can do it!" The rest of the group joined in, while Kira and a few other lackeys stood there with dark expressions.Furious, Tressa stood up and dashed toward Lea again. Her attacks grew stronger, but Lea blocked each one with ease. This continued for the next twenty minutes—Tressa attacking and Lea defending.By the end, Tressa's body was covered in cuts and bruises, while Lea stood unscathed."Dude this girl is a monster… how can she overpower a dragon warrior so easily, did she go through such rigorous training to attain this level of perfection?" David said to Tim,
Alina looked back. "I don't know… come on, let's ask someone."They reached the corridor and stopped a dragon warrior who was heading to the west wing. "Where is everyone going in such a hurry?""Little princess, you don't know?" Alina furrowed her eyebrows.Seeing this, the dragon warrior cleared his throat and explained, "Princess Tressa and that human girl are having a sword fight in the training room. We're all going to watch as we've never seen a human fight before, and we're curious about their skills."Once the dragon warrior shared this information, Alina let him go and turned to Sapphire. "This evil sister of mine is surely doing this to bully sister Lea. Please help her, sister Sapphire.""How can I help with this?" Sapphire asked, puzzled."You can… If I speak up, they'll silence me because I'm still young. But you know Master Kai Von, my evil sister has to listen to you." Looking at Sapphire still standing silently Alina added."You don't understand, sister Sapphire. That
