Elodie’s P.O.VI tilted my head to the left, matching Darius’s gaze as he stared at me dumbfoundedly. He shook his head, squeezing his eyes shut while he muttered under his breath. “No, this can’t be real. What are you doing here, Elodie? Who allowed you inside this place and where is he”With a smile creeping at the corner of my lips, I pointed to the desk nameplate, watching as his eyes widened and he read slowly. “CEO Elodie Martinez Marcel”“That is right and let this be the first and the last time that you would ever address me by name. You should put some respect to my name because you are below me, Darius!”Darius staggered backward and his back almost hit the door as he stared at me incredulously. “How…….is this a dream?”I responded to him blatantly. “This isn’t a dream but it is surely going to be your nightmare. I only have five minutes to spare and you still haven’t answered my question”Darius gulped and while his eyelashes fluttered as his chest heaved slowly, he ran his
Marcel’s P.O.VIn the heart of the courtyard adorned with varieties of flowers, I led Elodie to the dinner table, my hands over her eyes while she chuckled. “I am curious about what you made for you to be this secretive about it”I grinned. “I know. Don’t worry, you will soon find that out”Slowly my hands left her eyes and in a matter of seconds, her lips parted in shock as her hands flew over her mouth. She turned to look at me with those eyes that gleamed ethereally like all the stars gathered inside. I was dazed. How come I had never noticed the beauty that her siren eyes held? “You didn’t have to” She pouted slightly. “I have to” I responded while she sighed before she darted her eyes back to the dinner buffet. She turned to look at me swiftly, giggling while clapping both hands excitedly. “How did you know that I loved seafood? I barely had any in France and you didn’t have any hard time making any of these?”I shrugged, taking her hands while leading her to her seat. “I fo
Elodie’s P.O.V “What!” Silver and I exclaimed at the same time while I raised a brow in confusion, glancing at Marcel who seemed to be boiling in anger. “Excuse me, Silver doesn’t steal. Not any of my kids takes the things that don’t belong to them”Marcel stood up, staring daggers at Mae as his eyes widened. “What is the meaning of this? I have raised my boys with good morals and they have never exhibited this behavior before”Mae heaved an exasperated sigh, locking gazes with Silver who frowned at her. “Silver, be honest with everyone. The candies that you have been taking, aren’t they mine?”“They are yours and you told me to take…..”Mae interrupted. “I have always been wondering why my candies seem to have been reduced all the time and it turns out that you are the one who has been taking them. You wanted the candies after telling me that your mum reduced your sugar intake and after telling you that I wouldn’t go against your mum, you still went behind my back”“No, that is a l
Darius's P.O.VPacing back and forth in the living area, I swung my head in the direction of the door, patiently waiting for Susan to appear at the door. I had nightmares, my mind was plagued with different thoughts, and all I kept seeing was Elodie sticking a knife to my throat, and to worsen it, I kept seeing that boy—Zack, the one whom Elodie claimed was my son. Was he truly my son?I was heartbroken, shattered and it felt like everything that I had would soon be snatched from me. How Elodie turned out to be the CEO of the Sinclair group still looked like a dream to me! It wasn't just possible but when I received the email concerning the lawsuit, it soon hit me that my nightmare was becoming a reality. How in the world was I supposed to repay the millions of dollars that the Sinclair group had invested in that project? I had other investments that I had put my money in.I still had a lawsuit for fuck sake. What should I do? How do I get out of this mess that I have found myself
Marcel's P.O.V.Was it just me but Elodie seemed to be deeply worried about something and she has been giving me cold shoulders ever since, causing me to wonder if I did anything wrong. After the press conference, she walked past me, acting like I didn't exist and slowly, it hit me that she wasn't wearing the bracelet that she always had on her wrist all the time. Walking behind her, I called out her name and she turned to look at me with a blank stare while she said coldly. "What?"Reaching her pace, I flipped the hair that fell on my face to the back, raising a brow in confusion. "I am genuinely curious, did I do anything wrong to you? You haven't been talking to me and I am worried about you" Her eyes pierced into mine before she bit her lower lips and muttered. "There is nothing wrong and why are you worried about me? It is not like I mean anything to you.....we are just business partners and when all of this is over, we would all go our separate ways. Isn't that the deal betwe
Mae's P.O.VThe cookie that I was eating fell to my thigh as my lips parted and my eyes grew wide in shock. Elodie was the boss of Sinclair and Marcel was now ascending his position? What about me? Marcel invested so much in her but he has never bothered to ask me about how my writing career was going. Did he even care about me the same way that I did?A scoff left my lips at that moment and I ran my hands through my hair. "I am here struggling as a writer who barely sells her book copies unless Marcel and his brother buys them, and yet, he made Elodie the CEO, and all of this proved that she is filthy rich!"No wonder she always dressed in expensive and luxurious fashion accessories. My blood boiled just by staring at her face on the screen but on staring at the bracelet around my wrist, I beamed with a smile, muttering. "Just me telling her that the bracelet wasn't any special made her take it off. It will be very easy to manipulate her" A smile crept at the corner of my lips while
ELODIE’s P.O.VI didn’t even have the perfect explanation to describe all the series of events that have been happening in this house ever since Mae broke her neck and was now confined to a wheelchair. It was just so weird that a single fall from the stairs broke her neck and her legs. Marcel, after finding out that the triplets intentionally made the tiled stairs slippery, talked to them and tried to limit their video games but it seemed more like things even got worse between the triplets and Mae. If someone wasn’t complaining about being pinched, then Mae was either complaining about the triplets teasing her. I knew that the triplets were quite obstinate but I never knew that they could be this mischievous. At the same time, I knew that all of this wouldn’t be happening consistently if someone wasn’t triggering that reaction from them. Seeing Mae’s call, I switched off my phone because I knew that it was another call that was made in a bid to report the triplets. I leaned forw
MARCEL’s P.O.VRaising my head, Axel took long strides towards me with his hands folded behind his back. “Hi brother, I hope that you are not too offended by the many things that I have changed in the office” He let out an awkward grin while I shot him a glare before darting my eyes to the computer. “At least you kept my goldfish and saved it from dying”Axel cleared his throat. “Thankfully you are not mad at me and you have no plans of removing my new designs”I almost laughed before I cleared my throat and fixed him a stern gaze. “I am retouching the design here so don't get too excited. Why are you here, Axel? Don't you have an interview with the press?……” I drummed my fingers on the keyboard.“Actually……” His words trailed as he turned to look at the door. He toned down his voice. “He is here standing at the door and……”I cut in. “He can't hear you that easily. Who is standing at the door? His lips parted slightly while he harrumphed, adjusting the tie around his neck. “Alpha Li
