Chapter 21 The Reason Why She Seduces You

He found it strange when I gave him a look of subtle mockery after he mentioned that Michele would never be able to be a mother again. It didn't seem like I was merely trying to climb the social ladder by seducing someone as powerful as Scott. Perhaps I had other motives.

His men moved swiftly, and twenty minutes later, the results of the investigation were laid out before Terry.

"Just as I thought," he muttered, frowning at the information in front of him.

Without delay, he picked up the phone and called Michele. "Michele, I've found out something about Adrianna. I'll send it to you."

After leaving the club, I called Scott. I told him I wasn't feeling well and wanted to take the rest of the day off. The deal hadn't been finalized, so I suggested he send someone else to handle it.

There was a pause on the other end of the line before his voice softened, filled with concern. He asked about my health, told me to rest, and not to worry about the contract.

When the call ended, I
