Chapter I
False History
There was a creature, shivering and crying. "Revi, wake up . . . " someone whispered.
"My daughter, rise."
"You'll save us, Revi. Rise."
"Express them our wrath and sorrow. You must fight."
"Rage, Revi, rage."
"Avenge your mother, kill them all, and find freedom."
"Revi. . ."
There was a girl who's sleeping peacefully in her bed. As the window beside her opened, the light entered and made her white hair glow. She opened her eyes, and the first thing her round red eyes saw was sunlight. She blinked countless times and turned her head to the left. The view was her messy room again.
She closed her eyes. She is still lethargic. "Father, father," she whispered. That girl is Renata Viglianco, known as Revi VI. In their town, she's the naughtiest but the smartest as they say. At her young age, she learned how to read and write, yet she didn't consider herself the smartest. She believes that she is just a quick learner or maybe because her dad is a professor.
Renata continues to mutter the word 'father'. Little did she know, her mother, Velo, is watching her. Velo sighs as she views her daughter's messy room. This kid never wastes her time cleaning not only her room but also their house. She rather spends her day playing with her friends outside.
Velo shook her head and went downstairs. She saw her husband getting ready, preparing all of his papers. Velo approaches him. "You are going to the ministry again?" she asked Felix, her husband.
He just looked at her. "Yes, haven't I told you about it already? This is for us, Velo." He arranged his bag.
Velo looked downwards. She knew the reason why Felix is doing this. This is to survive against the wicked victors of Madreign. But these past few weeks, Felix didn't spare his time for them. He is so busy to the point that he always gets home late in the night.
"Your daughter misses you. Isn't that enough reason to stop in the meantime and bond with us?" She sighed.
Felix was stunned and closed his eyes. He clenched his fist and trembled. "We don't know when Madreign will attack Atolon, and oppress us for the second time. I'm doing this for her, we badly need to survive, Velo. I hope you understand that." He sighed. As the head of the family, he needs to protect them. Their chance of survival in this world full of cruelty is as big as an ant. "Do you know about Renata's Dream?"
~*~
Almost four centuries ago, a preacher shared his belief with the people. It's about the compelling titan gods and their chosen descendants. A lot of people believed that person because he has strong shreds of evidence, one of that evidence is Mount Colossus which is located in the northeast part of the world.
According to them, the power and legacies of those titans were passed down to their chosen descendants, and they are compelling and superior. The chosen descendants have a crystal inside their heart, the crystal is the one that gives them power. However, it also consumes their strength, making them live shorter.
They believed that there are twelve powerful titans living in Mount Colossus. Those titans have their duties and priorities. They are . . .
Harbor, the titan of the ocean.
Atlas, the titan of the sky.
Una, the titan of memories.
Everest, the titan of land.
Raiden, the titan of thunder and lightning.
Azar, the titan of fire.
Lewis, the titan of war.
Ahava, the titan of love.
Amara, the titan of beauty.
Astrea, the titan of fantasy.
Hakim, the titan of intelligence.
And lastly, Hadeon, the titan of destruction.
They were the children of Titus, the father of all titans.
Everything was peaceful not until Hadeon impregnated and killed Hakim's wife. Hadeon did such a sinful action, not appropriate for a titan god. As a punishment, Hakim beheaded Hadeon and sent him into a pit where no one could help him to escape. After that, the other titans didn't acknowledge Hadeon as a titan anymore.
Before Hadeon was sent into a pit, he saw his daughter whose name is unknown. He made a curse that his daughter will reincarnate and reincarnate until the right time will come and both of them will take revenge with one goal.
Their myth became a fact as descendants showed their faces in the public. Because of those facts, the selfish rulers feared that they might lose their political influence and the descendants would sit in power.
For their selfish deeds, they made false news and backstabbed all of the Tatius. They revealed fake crimes that Tatius never committed. It's the reason why people threw hatred towards Tatius. They feared and disgusted Tatius, causing some of them to be killed. To be peaceful, they trapped their so-called sinners under Mount Colossus.
Habonevar Cidgi, who has royal blood, the patriarch of the church, and the rumored descendant of Hakim, led his members to live peacefully underground. It is the start of the Cidgi Dynasty.
2 years later, the population of Tatius decreased due to a lack of sunlight and resources. Luckily, they managed to escape the underground.
They never dared to return to the people who became selfish just because of the power they are holding. Atolon, son of Habonevar and the descendant of Everest, created a gap between Tatius and non-Tatius. Little did they know, workers are creating a gap near Mount Colossus, too. Non-Tatius did it so they could be free in fear of the descendants. Atolon finished their works and successfully created a gap between Tatius and non-Tatius. The gap ended the lives of thousands of workers.
Habonevar's body weakened and died after a couple of months. Atolon took the responsibility and reigned the island he made with the help of Everest. Royal titles were passed down as time went by. Cidgians, the people of the island, lived in Atolon Island for over 390 years.
The merciless actions of the selfish politicians and non-Tatius will be forever staying in their minds. They painted the history and never dared to go outside Atolon. Meanwhile, the non-Tatius forgot about the beliefs as the politicians burnt the books about the myth and blew the ashes in the air as if nothing happened.
To be continued . . .
Chapter IIFalse History Part 2Revi VI's POVI heard a knock on my room's door and saw it open. "Argh, Revi. Your room is as messy as always." It was Stellan's voice. My lethargic self looked at him. I'm confused for a bit. "W-when did you wake up?" There's something in me . . . which I cannot explain. There's a feeling in me that Stellan should be asleep, or maybe I'm just hallucinating. I guess this is the consequence of pouring out my energy yesterday. I played overtime.I closed my eyes. "Revi, it's almost noon." After hearing his voice, I tried to sleep again. I . . . want to rest. After playing a lot of games with those kids, I ran out of energy."Revi, let's play!" Agh, her
Chapter IIIDeceiverI yawned. We're currently walking here in the market to buy some food and I'm getting bored. Fritz and Dion are at the stalls, searching for foods they want to eat later for the picnic near the river, while Stellan and Leones are with me, watching the two brats who were excited to eat and fight over foods.I looked at Leones. He has been quiet since ealier. Maybe he’s thinking of something or maybe his father’s words continued bothering him. Sadness can be seen on his face. I can do nothing but stare at him. I'm not a clown to make this dude happy—or maybe I can, just manipulating myself that I can't.I sighed. "Do you want an ice cream?" I looked at him and smiled.Leones looked
Chapter IV Deceiver Part 2 Even though I don’t call them ‘sister’ or ‘brother’, I still treat them as my older siblings. The thing is, we’re not connected by blood. They patted my head. "How are you, Revi?" Ender smiled at me. "I'm fine." I took a bite of the apple Stellan gave me. "Father went to the ministry again." I looked down. He just always leaves. I know it's his job, he almost had no time for me, we rarely talk. “That's okay, Revi." I looked up at Vida. "Instead of feeling sad, just understand your father. Perhaps the ministry is talking about your departure from Atolon." I sighed. "That isn't true." What Vida says is impossible. Those people who were sent
Chapter VSweet Dreams"The absence of descendants will cause war and extinction of our race. If not, then we will be slaves," Deumitri, the head minister, uttered. The other ministers agreed, Felix also.Earlier, Felix walked away to go to the ministry called New Order. New Order is a ministry consisting of 12 ministers representing the 12 titan gods. Ministers often discuss descendants and Atolonʼs next steps to maintain the peace and unity of the children of the island.Due to the intelligence of the Viglianco clan, Felix Viglianco, the current head of the family was invited by the higher-ups to help the ministers in New Order.Viglianco is a family that was famous for c
Chapter VISweet Dreams Part 2Revi sat on the side, just living in silence and deep in thought while her friends were happily playing."Revi!" Fritz shouted. Revi looked at her and the ball hit her. Revi was dumbfounded. Her friends laughed, and so did she. After playing, she decided to walk with Vida and Ender, just the three of them. She doesn't want to play anymore, so pouring all of her energy into an activity is a bad idea."I think you need to go home, Revi." Vida caressed Reviʼs shoulder. She looked at Vida. "The moon will rise soon. Itʼs gonna be dangerous at night."Revi gazed at the sky. The sun is still there but it's slowly fading. Her forehead furrowed and looked at the two
Chapter VII Devotion Felix knelt down to reach his daughter. "Where's your mom, Renata?" Revi did not answer his question, but remained silent. However, Felix tried to wait for an answer. Renata could not get out of the shackles of the past. After she closed his eyes, her mother disappeared. Memories come back and forth. If she only knew that it was the last time she would be with Velo, she would have spent the day with her. Because of Madreign, she had a wound that was difficult to heal. Felix looked at Ender, hoping the young man would tell him where Velo was. The young man could not look at her. Like Revi, it remembers what happened yesterday. He was just afraid of losing Revi, like losing his mother when he was a child. He didn't think that because of him, Revi would
Chapter VA Promise To Remember"Leones!" Gritz, Leonesʼ father, roared at him. From the corpse of his mother, Leones shifted his stare to look at his furious father. Gritzʼs flaming eyes greeted Leones, causing him to tremble in fear. His father was musculine. At any time, he might lift Leones."Where are you when your mother is dying?" Gritz asked. He tried to calm himself by sitting on a chair and drinking cold water, while impatiently waiting for his sonʼs answer. He clenched his fists.Leones stared at his siblings behind the door. They were watching them but couldn't look at him. Their simple action made him feel worthless. He gazed at the corpse of his mom, then he faced his father. "Father . . ."
Chapter IXA Promise To Remember Part 2Leones was hungry and thirsty. Even if he goes upstairs, for sure that thereʼs no food left. He was questioning himself, why does Madreign need to ambush them and slaughter a lot of people? Why does his mother need to die? He's blaming himself even though he did nothing wrong. The basement door opened and showed Romil. Heʼs holding a tray with a plate and a glass of water on it. He approached Leones. "Leo, please eat." He carefully dropped the tray. The food on it was warm. Rice and eggs were seen on the plate. "That’s my food, but I’ll give this to you. Don't worry because I heated it up again."Leones teared up. "Why are you doing this?"Romil sighed. "We are siblings, Leo. Now t
Chapter XXIXIs Everything Really Well?I never looked at her, and instead clenched both my jaw and fists. Tears attempted to escape my eyes, but I tried my best to prevent it. Not now. I can’t cry now.“I saw what happened, Revi.” I could sense she’s upset. And so am I. She’s one of us. Rory’s a Cidgian. She should be angry towards the victors. But look, here she is, taking their side—justifying what they did because it was “eons” ago.As I breathed heavily, she spoke again. “I understand your animosity but—”“No!” I screamed. “You don’t understand my hatred! You never did! Because if you do, you wouldn’t be so upset at me right now.”"I certainly do!" Her tone was solemn. "But those Madreese you were unleashing your rage on aren't to blame for their ancestors' misdeeds!"She exhaled a sigh. "It must have been difficult for you to believe that 'we,' our civilization, were imprisoned in dread as a result of what occurred in the past. You must not, however, generalize or criticize some
Chapter XXIXLittle Girls Part 2“Can you . . . at least listen to my grief?” She slowly looked at me.For some reason, I found myself in her. Since my mother's death, I've had a void in my heart that I've been unable to fill, no matter what I or they do. In spite of the fact that they were patient with my rants and my fury, I was still lonely. I wanted to tell 'them' how much I was hurting and how much I was angry, because I felt so isolated. I’m simply talking about Madreese, including this girl in front of me. And my common and obvious reason why was because they raided my town.Inquiring minds want to know . . . In the end, it wasn't about retaliation; it was about retribution for what they had done to me. Or is there something else going on that I'm not aware of? Why do I want to destroy?“Fine,” I said even though it was against my will.On the rooftop, which was off-limits, I accompanied her. There was no one there.Unlike the storage room, the place was wide and bright, althou
Chapter XXVIIILittle GirlsTeacher Rory nodded as I stared at her without uttering anything. “We came from the same nation, Renata, but the only difference was I grew up here and you grew up on the island.”She sighed. “It’s surprising, I know, but I’m letting you know this because I want you to trust me.”Trust. This woman was basically asking me to trust her just because we share the same history of ancestors, but who knows if her mind was already corrupted?I stayed silent. I shouldn’t let my guard down. I shouldn’t trust her. No matter what, I should stick to my fake identity. I’m not a Cidgian. I’m not from Atolon. I am a Madreese. I was from Delural. That’s what I should be in front of their eyes.“People forgot about us, Revi. It’s upsetting that the government hid a sin and we didn’t even have a chance to punish them. They moved on, continued spreading chaos, and proudly raised their flags in wars as we—or shall I say you and your fellows that are hiding in the island, living
Chapter XXVII Walking Paradox Part 2 I went back home quietly as Father was peacefully sleeping in his bedroom. I better not wake him up. Hoping to end this all, I closed my eyes and tried to sleep without having nightmares or hallucinations. Hours passed, and I wasn’t able to go back to sleep. My body never had the urge to rest, so I spent the hours staring at the lonely luminous moon. Although I didn’t sleep again, I found myself never being restless. It was strange yet I was thankful for it. When the sun started to rise, I did my morning routine without waking Father up. I also cooked my own food and went to the storage room for some potatoes. Then, I went to the river once ag
Chapter XXVIWalking ParadoxI tightened my grip to the medal as I stepped forward to watch the river. It was past midnight, and I just woke up from having that unexplainable, confusing, and strange dream I had. I didn’t have any good feelings about it. It might be something my creative mind created or it might also be a message from the gods. But as much as I wanted to believe that she’s a god, a part of me said it’s ridiculous. I’m still a kid after all, with a strange mind.I decided to take a walk outside, not minding the possible dangers during night. The gloomy and dark sight of my bedroom was creeping me out somehow, and I wanted some peace of mind as it was giving me constant nightmares and hallucinations. And I knew the beauty of nature will hel
Chapter XXVUnvalued Medal Part 2As far as I could remember, when I was a year old, we used to live there with Babu but the moment I celebrated my 2nd birthday, we moved to Rajanseth for some unkown reasons. Babu was left there alone until I turned three, he decided to stay with us until the last moments of his life.We never went back to the palace, and lived normally like commoners in Rajanseth and still receive a special treatment. The palace was kept hidden under the care of the Royal Family. Only Father and the king knew where it was.I sighed and went inside the house. There I saw Father in the living room, reading a lot of documents. “Father, I’m home,” I said.Even though I knew he wouldn&rsquo
Chapter XXIV Unvalued Medal Only then did I realize that time passed rapidly as light. Everything went so fast, and everything went so peculiar for me since the day I bumped into a woman who eventually turned out to be my father’s new lover. Felix and the new girl named Thebe were lovers. Although I doubt it as my father loves Mom so much and I think he can never astray. I just have this intuition that he is just using the woman for his plans. I’m not sure. Who knows what was going on in Felix’s mind? Instead of arguing with him, I faked a warm welcome for his new lover. I acted as if I approve of their relationship. That was because I trust Father with his schemes. This was only part of his step, for sure.
Chapter XXIII Renata's Caligo Oculus Part 2 Another thing, searching for the truth requires a lot of effort and I’m lazy for that. I jest, the real reason was . . . I don’t want my views or perspective about the world to change. I think I already have enough knowledge about this world. The trauma . . . almost made me go insane. I never wanted my perspective to change because of what my babu said to me before he died. “Everyone around you, Renata, is perfidious. You can’t trust anyone . . . not even gods.” Remembering that line . . . was always making me wary. “Renata.” As soon as I heard a voice, I came back into reality, a reason why the dominoes fell continuously. I groaned. It took me time to build all of this. I glanced at the person who disturbed me. Only did I realize that it was our math teacher. “Why are you playing dominoes in the middle of the class, Renata?” I frowned. “Uh . . . To help me with numbers?” I stayed silent for a moment. “Perhaps?” I released an awkward
Chapter XXII Renata's Caligo Oculus Something had been bothering me . . . ever since the day I heard Teacher Rory’s story about a mortal who was blessed by the gods. Hours after Teacher Rory left with Heidi and Naya—it was midnight, I felt like I just reminisced a memory that I didn’t even have. As if I was on the spot, watching that mortal’s journey. As soon as I heard Teacher Rory’s story, I wanted to correct her. Although I said I understand nothing, it was because what she told was completely different from what I saw. The main character of the story, Sator, wasn’t a mortal, but an archon and a compelling god. He wandered the celestias or universes he created with his immortal comrades but . . . a tragedy struck in the abode of the deities named Procyron. Sator was part of Procyron’s council, a group of eight gods ruling the abode of deities and celestias. The council
