“Would you love to try somewhere else?” Kai asked, a tickle of a smile appearing, which put me at ease and relaxed.

“No, Kai, maybe some other time,” I responded, even though I never wanted to go home. I wanted to explore this night, making uproarious noise. I would be miserable if I got to my house.

“You sure about that?” he asked, maybe noticing how unsure I was. Kai looked at his watch and smiled.
