94. Do What Must Be Done

Dorian's POV

I woke up and looked around. There was a slight light coming from a candle that was left in the room.

Finally! I could see. I looked around and saw that I was alone. My side hurt, and I remembered that Conrad had shot me with a tranquiliser.

That coward! Why couldn't he fight like a man?! It was a shame that he just ran off at any slight confrontation. He was not fit to be a prince.

I soon heard a slight noise, and when I turned my head, I noticed a small flap in the door. It moved slightly, and soon, someone pushed a tray of cold food into my cell.

"Here is your meal, prisoner. I don't think captives like you deserve a hot meal."

The person walked away, and I stared at the food on the ground. It was out of reach, and I was again chained to my chair.

I ignored it and looked around the room. The air was damp and cold. It meant I was far from the warm light of day and fresh air. My best guess was that I was underground.
