106. Why Did You Have To Leave?

April’s POV

Ivar and I got into his car and drove towards the Richards' house. My heart was pounding in my chest. I didn't know if they would be happy with me bringing Dorian to their home. I only assumed.

I was terrified and tried my best to hide my fears from Ivar, who stole glances at me now and then. His face was tense with scepticism, but he didn't utter a word. He kept driving, and the closer we seemed to get, the more my heart began to give out, and worry began to envelop me.

Finally, we pulled up in front of their house. Ivar turned off the ignition and turned to me. His forehead was creased, and his eyes alert revealed his thoughts. He doubted me.

"April, I have a feeling that they won't want to help. You realise that keeping Dorian here with them also puts them in danger and makes them targets of whoever is after Dorian. No one wants that kind of tension hanging above their home."
