Elizabeth POV The look on Carter’s face scared me. Did he not want a pup? Did he think we weren’t ready? We had never talked about it, I know, but I thought everyone wanted pups. Particularly Alphas. He starts to open his mouth when the doctor walks in. Looking away from me, Carter looks to the doctor. “Alpha, you are awake. You should have called me sooner. I imagine you need some pain medication,” the doctor says to Carter. I look at him feeling guilty for having delayed getting the doctor for him. “That is okay, doc; I have been catching up with my mate,” he says as he smiles at me. I am so confused.
