Elizabeth POV Walking into Carter’s room shook me. Seeing him lying with his hands wrapped was difficult. For wolves, our hands were a key part of bonding. Particularly as high-ranking wolves. Our hands were cut, and we were bonded by blood. The thoughts that he would have anything wrong with his hands causes me pain. If his hands were severely scarred, would a ceremonial blade be able to cut through his skin? I did not know. I did not know, if he would ever be able to feel again with his hands. To feel warmth, cold, or my kisses in his palms. Feel my skin under his fingertips. I knew it was little to most people but to me and to Carter it would mean a great deal. Regardless I gave myself a shake. My Carter was here in front of me, and he was alive. I know if he had not come, I would be dead now. Our pup would be dead with me. I smile as I put my hand on my small baby bump. Our pup. A male wolf to take after his daddy. I could not wa
Elizabeth POV After a long night of waiting and praying to the Moon Goddess, the sun finally rose. Every hour Carter made it without needing another surgery was a good sign. I was exhausted but would not leave Carter’s side. My parents, Stan, and Kinsley had all tried to get me to go and get some rest. I know Carter would want me to, but I also knew if the situation were to be reversed, he would have done the same. “Ashley,” I call out into my mind. I had not heard from her since we had been injected with the wolfsbane. Coming out with a yawn, “Yes, Elizabeth?” she asks. “Where have you been?” I inquire curious what she does with her time. We are not like many wolves where we communicate on a continuous basis. It is more of a situation that when we need one another we are always there. “I was protecting our pup. The fortunate thing with being a silver wolf, is we can fight against the wolfsbane, when necessary. It does not happen every tim
Elizabeth POV The look on Carter’s face scared me. Did he not want a pup? Did he think we weren’t ready? We had never talked about it, I know, but I thought everyone wanted pups. Particularly Alphas. He starts to open his mouth when the doctor walks in. Looking away from me, Carter looks to the doctor. “Alpha, you are awake. You should have called me sooner. I imagine you need some pain medication,” the doctor says to Carter. I look at him feeling guilty for having delayed getting the doctor for him. “That is okay, doc; I have been catching up with my mate,” he says as he smiles at me. I am so confused. What the heck is he smiling at? Has he figured it out yet? I have no idea but then he is looking to the doctor once again. “What am I looking at?” Carter asks about his hands. The doctor moves to the other side of Carter, “Well, Alpha, we are not sure. Having to do two surgeries so quickly caused more damage than we would have liked.
Elizabeth POVI watch the emotions cross Carter’s face landing on confusion. “How?” he stutters when I look at him incredulously. “I mean I know how,” he says his face now red, “But when?” he asks. I turn away from him putting my hand on my forehead and my other hand on my hip, “Moon Goddess, give me the strength not to strangle this man,” I mutter as I feel strong arms wrap around my body gently. Carter’s bandaged hands rest softly on my small baby bump as he leans his head down on my shoulder resting his lips near my ear. “This is the best gift you could have given me,” he murmurs as he nuzzles my marking spot. I feel sparks all along my body and lean back into Carter’s body. “Do you mean that?” I ask.Carter gently turns me around in his arms, tilting my face up to look at him, “I mean it. It is a gift from the Moon Goddess,” he says as he pulls me into his arms. I wrap my arms around his waist, and we stand like that wrapped up in the joy of the moment. “It’s a boy,” I sa
Elizabeth POV It had been four days since Carter had started physiotherapy. One good thing about being wolves is our healing could be expedited. To a degree. The physio was proving to be more painful, as Max had not surfaced yet. Carter did not complain, but I could feel his pain through our bond. And today was the coronation ceremony. Well, the second attempt at one. We would not have as many guests as was originally planned. The original attendees could not stay indefinitely so many had already returned to their homes. It was better to have a smaller, more intimate ceremony. It would mean more to me, and hopefully Carter as well. Carter’s hands were no longer wrapped but he still needed help with minor things. Like getting dressed, eating. Okay not so minor, but minor to me to have to help him. Monumental to him. “Fuck!” I hear him mutter in his closet. “Do you need a hand?” I ask and then cringe at my insensitivity, “Uhhh you know wh
Alpha Carter POV As Elizabeth and I walked up the aisle, I could not help but become a little nostalgic. Thinking about where we had been to where we are now. Having overcome so many hurdles. So many things that seemed against us being together. But here we were … about to become Queen and King of the Kingdom. I had never aspired to become King. It had never been something I had remotely considered. Having met with the current King this week and learned more about what he did and the opportunities I would have to make a difference in the wolf community excited me. And now I felt like a fool for fighting so hard against it. I could feel Elizabeth’s small hand on my arm as we walked up the aisle following her parents. I could feel the stares and the excitement in the room for the future. For the next generation to take over. What I felt stressed about was my inability to shift tonight. The people present knew of my injury and were advised as
Alpha Carter POV “I am back!” I hear in my mind. “Max?” I ask tentatively through our mind-link. “It is me,” he replies excitedly. “I am so grateful to have you back,” I reply. “Me too. Wherever I was it was a very dark and lonely place,” he shares with me. I want to hear exactly what he remembers happening but the Elder in front of me clears his throat. “May we continue Alpha?” he asks. I nod telling Max I want all the details. Knowing we were in the middle of a ceremony and his mate was beside him was enough to settle him. Having completed the transfer of blood, I take Elizabeth’s hand in mine and give it a squeeze. She smiles excitedly, knowing Max was back. The third Elder comes forward. “And now we will do the transfer of the crowns signifying the future,” he says as the King and Queen move forward. Each kneel before the Elder and their crowns are removed for the last time. Both are holding hands as the removal takes place. You c
Elizabeth POV The last two weeks had been a blur. We had an amazing feast the night of our coronation, and then we were in the whirlwind of handing over responsibilities for the Kingdom. Carter and I were both sitting in my office on the couch that I had brought in. I had my feet in Carter’s lap as he rubbed them. “Mmmm that feels good,” I murmur as my eyes half close. We had just finished another gruelling day of learning and needed a few minutes to ourselves before we went to supper with those who lived in the Palace. We had started that last week. Carter missed having meals with his Pack, so we started that tradition. Those living within the Palace loved the idea and had embraced being a part of a bigger family. It did not mean everyone joined every night, but it gave people options. The cooking team loved it as well. They got to serve people more than just waiting for a special event. Carter starts to massage up my calve m

It is part-way finished and proving to have lots of ups and downs, as you would expect ;)Hope you enjoy the story as much as I am enjoying writing it.Here is a brief summary of the story“What does that mean? You are rejecting me?” Julia asked. I felt a pain in my chest, but I knew this was the right thing to do. “You do not belong in my world; please accept this so we can both move on,” I reply. “No,” she replied. “No?” I asked, confused how this human could refuse my rejection.Eric is the Prince of the Wolf Kingdom. Good day Everyone I wanted to share a quick update. I am working on the draft for Eric's story and expect to start it the week of May 6, 2024. I hope you will be as excited as I am to write the story. His will have a couple interesting twists but suffice to say he will find his mate. The question ... will he accept her :) After that we will see where we go but I do want to write the stories for the pups after they are grown. Any feedback is always welcome. Let me know if you are excited to read the story or follow me on my socials to get updates. Ellie xo
Elizabeth’s POV The past six months had been a rush of emotions. Watching CJ grow was unbelievable. He was growing fast already walking. He was ahead of the normal schedule of children, but we have realized our boy was special beyond what we could even fathom at this point. We loved him and would keep him a child as long as we could. Stan and Kinsley had a beautiful little girl. She was two months old. CJ loved little Leslie from the moment he saw her. He always went to see her before anyone else got a chance to say hello to her. He always touched her face softly giving her little kisses. We all joked wouldn’t it be cute if they were mates when they grew up. Eric had not found his mate yet. He had just returned home from a two-month search but with no luck. He was still hopeful, but I could tell he was somewhat disappointed that his search had not yielded him success yet. I kept encouraging him as best I could even to the point of suggest
Elizabeth POV I had been in labour for a while now. I had started pushing an hour ago. I knew I was having a big baby boy, but I do not think anything prepared me for this. Ashley was throwing all her strength into me. I was getting exhausted and angry. Carter was both amazing and annoying at the same time. His words of encouragement were endearing, but I really wanted to punch him in the nuts so he would have a sense of how ridiculous his words really were. The past few months had been a whirlwind. I had survived the two weeks of bed rest. My mother had brought me a lot of things to work on during that time. And I was healthy and given the nod to go back to regular activities with normal precautions. Before I knew it the time had flown by and here, I was birthing my first pup. The rate I was going this could be my last one. “One more push, my Queen,” the doctor says encouragingly. I take a deep breath and push with all my might. With th
Carter POV I gently pick Elizabeth up in my arms. “Elizabeth,” I repeat but she does not respond. There are snarls and cries of pain as I turn to see what is happening. The two sisters are fighting. The warriors are standing by ready to jump in to assist the former Queen. But all respect her need to fight her sister for all that she stole from her. I watch helplessly as I see Elizabeth’s mother toss her sister in the air. As she comes down her mother reaches for her aunt and slams her into the ground. All you could hear was a yelp and the crushing of bones. “How dare you ever think you had a right to destroy my life! How dare you steal a child from her parents! How dare you steal so much from my mate! You deserve so much more but it is time for you to die!” the former Queen yells. Her sister is begging for her life, but the former Queen will hear nothing of it. She moves forward and places her sister’s head in her hands. She starts twist
Elizabeth POV “You!” I scream. I am staring in shock at the person in front of me. “Where did you come from?” I demand as I move to cover Carter’s body. He was defenceless and I would not sit back while someone attacked us. “Surprised to see me?” the person asks. “I am surprised you are still alive,” I say as I move into position in the event they attacked. Moving towards me, “But daughter dearest, I have missed you,” she replies. “You are not my mother,” I spit at her. “My someone is feisty,” she says with a smirk. “Who knew you had it in you?” she asks. “You knew all along,” I say to her. “What kind of sick monster does what you did?” I ask her. “I would like to know that myself,” a voice from behind me says. I turn to see my mother and a group of warriors behind me. I turn around and smirk at the woman in front of me who has managed to get closer to me. “The kind of woman who was sick of her sister getting everything she wanted,” my a
