"SHE WILL BE fine, Mitch," Lorna's soft voice broke through his thoughts. "Your agitation and anxiety won't help her at all, in fact, it has a worse effect."

Mitch snorted. "Nothing could be worse."

"I can tell you a couple of things that are worse," Lorna replied. "How would the children feel when they come back and find out that their mother is sick, and they see you're scared..."

"I'm not scared," Mitch opposed.

"You're white with fear," Lorna said. "I am tempted to give you one of my herbs to calm your nerves."

Mitch scoffed and sat down on the couch. He grasped his hands to keep them from tapping, but the nervous energy went to his foot, and he still tapped it uncontrollably.

Enrique noticed this and smirked, "As Lorna said, things could be worse. Not many people encounter what Vladimir did to her without dying or falling under his command.."
