The room was dead silent like the time when she first walked in. I'd gotten her tongue tied and I was enjoying it.

Her mouth was open but sounds were not coming out. What a hypocritical bitch.

“On a lighter note, Felix was promoted to Alpha for his efforts in the war. You know that if you work alongside her and become her co-wife, things could work out.”

I felt myself get dumber just listening to her. In what sick world did she think that this could work out? Even if I did agree to this, we would hate each other for the rest of our lives and be sworn enemies.

I didn't have time for all that and certainly not with a woman who was cheap enough to take someone else's husband.

“I mean, think about it. He's the Alpha now, and he did say that he met her at war. You could stay back and handle things at the pack while he goes out with her to fight wars. I'm sure you're too soft and tush for all that so no one expects that from you.”

This woman clearly didn't know how I was brought up but then again, no one does..

All I could do was laugh at whatever it was that gave her the logic that I would agree to something as sick as this.

I was too soft?

More like I'd let them make me into a fool. I'd sat back and let them toss and turn me around like I was a wave in the ocean.

But then again, it was good because they didn't know what I was capable of.

“And you think that will work?”

Her face brightened up, thinking I was about to agree to her offer.

“Of course, you'll barely have to see each other. You'll both be out of each other's way and since she's going to be away a lot, everyone will know you as the Luna. “

She meant, everyone will know me as the money bag, the one who was spending her inheritance on blood suckers.

Normally, since Felix had found his mate, she would have sent me packing in a heartbeat since I wasn't exactly her favorite and I didn't have a wolf.

But then again, she needed my money and so did this family so I was still an asset to them and it would be a huge loss if they let me go.

“You know, I think I'll have to pass up on that offer. It's true that Felix is now the Alpha but then, this pack is small. No one even recognizes this pack so I don't think we're going to be seeing a lot of wars which means she'll be around a lot.”

I could see that my comment about the pack annoyed her but then again, I was right. The pack was really small, deep in the middle of nowhere so I wasn't exactly expecting a war each week.

I stood up from the bed and went to stand in front of her.

“So you can understand why I'm not exactly jumping at your offer. Since she won't be gone a lot, there won't be a need for two Lunas to rule. It'll just make things messy. What I'm going to do is take care of my pack and my husband and she? Well, she's free to do what she wants.”

If she really thought that this was going to send me away, then it wasn't going to.

“So you're saying that you're comfortable with her being here? Shouldn't you fight for your place? You're the woman of the houses. You should let her know-”

I held back a laugh..

“Know what? I should fight with her so I'll be reduced to her level? I'm sure you'll like that, won't you? What's the whole point of fighting? I'd rather just leave.”

What was I saying? Leave? Where would I go to?

Anyways, Grace didn't know that.

“You’re not thinking straight. If you do this, you should know that it won't be easy for you. People will come for you and you will lose everything you think you have. Felix is your husband-”

“Oh, cut the bullshit Grace! Just cut it out! He's not my husband. You know you don't give a crap about that. You just want the money!”

She had the guts to act like she was surprised. Like she cared about the fact that I wanted to leave.

“How could you say a thing like that? I mean, I'm just trying to help you get back your stance in this family-”

“I don't care. Whatever it is that you're trying to do, save it because I'm over it. ”

Fiona entered just then, like an assassin on a mission. Of course, she needed backup for bullshit.

“What’s going on here?”

I rolled my eyes and left the drama queen to say what she wanted to behind my back.

“She’s calling us gold diggers. All I was saying was that she should work with Kelly but she turned it against me and rained insults on me. “

That was a lie but I wasn't bothering to defend myself because I was steady for whatever bullshit Fiona wanted to bring to me.

I was genuinely fed up and today, I was feeling extra angry. In all of this, leaving had never been a part of my options but because of this conversation, it was beginning to cross my mind.

“How dare you speak to my mother like that? Do you know-”

“Oh, shut up. You really think you're something, don't you? The sight of you makes me sick and I don't even have your time.”

The both of them looked at themselves, obviously shocked at my outburst. It was about time I started saying a thing or two to them. .

“I’m sick of all of you. Each and everyone of you and you don't even want to know what I think of you. Work together with her? More like being her slave. I'm not stupid enough to believe that bullshit. So you can save it for some dumb person who's going to believe you.”

Fiona still couldn't believe what was going on because she was still talking.

“Just who do you think you're speaking to? You're nothing but a-”

I raised my finger.

“I’ll have to stop you right there. Before you say whatever you want, I'd ask that you return all the jewelry,clothing and money that I've given to you. Including the ones you're wearing.”

Seems like everyone had a lot to say today because our last guest joined the party.
