247 : Empathy For The Enemy

“I still can’t believe this. That’s my mom.” Rena mutters as she turns on the audio Ryan sent for the tenth time. I hear the woman sobbing and crying for help.

We stand at the balcony, the cold night breeze ruffling my hair. I step closer to her and wrap my arm around her back. She needs it right now. This is quite a shocking revelation and the waves of disbelief and terror flow through her.

If I was in her place, I would have felt the same. It reminds me when dad revealed to me about mom dying because of me. I haven’t revealed that to Rena yet. I don’t know how to say it, especially when she’s going through so much. She’s doing her best to stay strong and from the outside, she seems to be a powerful Luna who’s running the pack with a sharp, focused mind. But from the inside, she’s hurting.

Dory’s disappearance has inflicted a deep mental wound on us. It doesn't help that I’m the one who’s responsible for it. If I had not tried to protect that fucking Ashwalker at the moment
