AMAIRA'S POV

I gasped as I felt my legs give way and Audrey gasped as well when I finally gave up and we both toppled to the ground.

Our breaths were heavy, and I felt tears well up in my eyes when I turn to lie on my back, gazing at the sky, hearing footsteps approach her.

"I'm Sorry... " I whisper to Audrey as I hear the footsteps get closer. I had failed her.

Having lost so much blood and energy, I became unconscious and didn't know what was happening around me anymore.

As I slowly opened my eyes, I groan out loud, feeling excruciating pain all over my body. I sit up slowly, holding up my head which looked like it would fall off due to the heavy headache.

The room was slightly dark with a dim light escaping the windows where the moon light seeped in.

If the men had kidnapped her, how come she was lying on a comfortable bed in a luxurious room?

I wanted to crawl off the bed, my mind thinking to Audrey, but I fell off the bed and sprained my ankle further.

I think this is chapter 30 and I’m really hoping to get past this I’m now enough for you I’m just a slave mentality. I used to stick with the books till the end but it drags on a bit too far
