Delilah's POV:

With that question still hanging between us, we made our way back to the mansion and changed into new clothes in the shed before moving inside. Everyone filed out near the door and inquired about what happened to Akira and how was she now. I waved their worries away by telling them that she was feeling agitated after what happened to her but was fine now.

To correct me, Akira purred in my head, "Perfectly fine, if I must say."

Excusing myself, I climbed the stairs and turned toward my room. Making a beeline to the washroom, I stripped and stood under the warm stream of the shower. The water cleared away all the dirt and helped to relax my muscles. I sighed in relief and reached Akira in my mind.

"How are you doing?" I asked her gently.

I could feel all her happy emotions even before she answered, "As good as I can be. Spending time with Fang helped clear my mind and calm me down."

A small smile appeared on my lips at her words. No doubt, both our wolves had a deep conne
