At midnight, I pretended to be asleep even though she was wide awake, and as the morning came and we all gathered for breakfast, everyone pretended that we had forgotten her birthday whereas, in reality, we had decided to give her a birthday surprise in the evening.At university, I refused to meet her at the cafeteria during recess time because all the other girls would be there to wish her.
