Alisha’s POV
In the tranquil garden, under the gentle rays of the morning sun, I was accompanied by Mireya, one of our loyal Omega maids. Together, we carefully tended to the blooming roses, their vibrant colors a testament to the love and care they received. Each day, I would select the most resplendent of these blossoms and send it to my beloved husband, Archie, as a silent token of my affection.
But on this serene day, the tranquility of the garden was pierced by the distant voices of several she-wolves, their words carrying on the breeze.
"Is this the Alpha's mansion? It's so grand and magnificent! I envy Luna for dwelling in such house!"
"Come now, Alisha hardly deserves to be the Luna of the Golden Crest. She is a disable without a wolf, unable to partake in our training or battles. She's essentially useless."
"But the Alpha Archie chose her as his Luna, so he must have his reasons. If he hears you maligning her, you'll surely face his wrath."
"Hmph, I highly doubt that. Golden Crest is the mightiest pack in the East. Meanwhile, Alisha comes from a third-rate pack, the Black Furies. If it weren't for Alpha's marriage to her, the Black Furies would have likely been absorbed by neighboring packs long ago. Her position as Alpha's wife is solely due to the orders of the former Luna, Stephenie. Alpha himself hardly cared for her."
"Indeed, they've been married for so long, and she hasn't even borne a child. I've heard whispers that Alpha's mother, Stephenie, is seeking a new she-wolf to replace her."
"Wow, does that mean there's a chance for me to become Alpha's wife?"
"Hahaha, my odds are better than yours, especially with my potent Gift power."
Unbeknownst to them, the subject of their discussion was concealed among the fragrant flower bushes, listening in on their unbridled criticisms. Mireya, my loyal companion, looked at me with empathy, seemingly prepare to intervene and put an end to this damn conversation.
I gently shook my head. I had grown accustomed to such disparaging remarks. True, I possessed flaws — I lacked a wolf companion and a powerful Gift. Given my origins, marrying Archie was a stroke of incredible fortune. I didn't want to get into conflicts with pack members over a few words.
Nonetheless, their harsh comments had stirred unwelcome memories. After entrusting the rose to Mireya for delivery to Archie's study, I decided to take a drive in the hopes of clearing my mind and avoiding these annoying and jealous discussions.
But unfortunately, as I had just reached the edge of the forest, I found that the usually quiet woods were suddenly filled with noise, as if many people had gathered inside. This place was far from the Golden Crest and was rarely visited, serving as my secret hideaway. However, today, a large number of strangers had suddenly appeared.
An unsettling feeling coursed through me, compelling me to retreat swiftly. However, just as I prepared to leave, a resounding outcry echoed from the heart of the forest, "We must assert our rights! We are not like the rogues dwelling in the Dark Forest. We deserve equitable treatment like normal werewolf! Let us unite and demand justice from the Golden Crest!"
"Absolutely not! Provoking the Golden Crest would spell disaster for us!"
"Get lost, you coward! You hold no authority over me!"
Now, I realized that this was a gathering of rogues, united in their determination to secure their place. In the world of werewolves, rogues often led harsh lives, and Archie, as the Alpha of the Golden Crest, had historically adopted a stern stance against them, except for a certain special woman. I understood that I needed to leave this place promptly.
But before I could start my car, there was a sudden, terrifying explosion, followed by a series of wolf howls. The explosion's shockwave affected both me and my car, sending us flying. My vision went dark, and a continuous ringing in my ears assaulted me. I felt blood running down my forehead, covering my face. I couldn't even open my eyes, and I knew that if this continued, I was in serious trouble.
In this critical moment, I summoned all the strength in my body and activated my Gift to heal my wounds. Unfortunately, because I didn't have a wolf, the ability of my Gift was limited. I could only manage minor wounds and couldn't do much for more serious injuries.
A bone-chilling coldness seeped over me, and every breath was a struggle. Archie, where are you? I silently implored, my thoughts a prayer in the midst of peril. Please come and save me!
I couldn't be sure how much time had passed, but just as I felt myself slipping into unconsciousness, a stranger hurried over to my side. He examined my condition and carefully applied some herbs to my wounds.
"Your condition is really bad, and I can't stay here for long. Do you have someone I can contact for you?"
I took a deep breath and gestured towards my phone, which was lying not far away on the ground. "I'm not sure if my phone still works, but if it does, please contact my husband, Archie. He is the first in the contacts list."
The stranger picked up my phone and managed to dial Archie's number. Thankfully, the phone still functioned. Since I didn't have a wolf, I couldn't use the pack's mindlink, so my only way to contact Archie was through my phone.
After what felt like an eternity, someone answered the call, but instead of Archie, I heard a woman's voice on the other end. "Sorry, Alisha, Archie is in the shower right now. You can tell me what you want."
Her refined accent irritated me, and I was filled with numbness hearing that familiar yet disgusting tone-Erma Cosey.
"Why... why are you answering Archie's phone? And why is he showering in your room?" I stammered, my voice trembling, my grip on the phone so tight it drew blood.
"Today is my birthday, so Archie is celebrating with me. As for why he's taking a shower, you're not a child. Do I need to explain why a man might take a shower at night in another woman's house?"
Erma's response left me dumbfounded. It was clear that Archie had an affair with Erma! I had heard rumors that she was his former lover. But since I had married Archie, I had always believed that he was faithful to our marriage!
Erma continued, "Alisha, Archie loves me, not you. I can steal him away from you on your anniversary and have him with me on my birthday. No matter when I need him, he will abandon you to accompany me. As a disabled she-wolf, even though you became Luna through your shameful tricks, I am his true love! You will never have Archie's love and respect!"
Now I understood why Archie had never spent our wedding anniversary with me. He always claimed he had pack business to attend to. I couldn't believe he was spending that time with Erma!
I tried my best to respond calmly, though my heart was in pieces. "Let me speak to Archie."
" You're not giving up, are you? Fine, I'll let you hear his voice."
After a pause, I heard the sound of running water, and then Erma called out to Archie, "Archie, it's Alisha on the phone."
The water stopped, and Archie's voice followed, "Tell her I'm busy and don't have time."
It was indeed Archie's voice, and when I heard it, my heart shattered into a million pieces. Tears streamed down my face.
I broke into hysterical sobs of grief and shame. How could Archie treat me like this? I knew I wasn't a perfect wife for him. As the Alpha of the Golden Crest, the most powerful pack in the region, Archie should have married a strong and capable she-wolf. Instead, he married me, a disabled werewolf who didn't even have a wolf.
I knew I wasn't Archie's fated mate. Archie had been forced to marry me by his grandmother, the former Luna of the Golden Crest.
I still had fallen in love with him at first sight and had chosen to marry him despite all the problems. I had hoped that, over time, I could get his love. But now, it seemed I was wrong. Erma had proven to be his true mate, his one and only. No matter what I did, I could never surpass Erma.
The stranger who had overheard my conversation with Erma and witnessed my current state of misery asked, "Is there anyone else who can help you?" I sensed the sympathy in his voice.
Betrayed by my own husband, I had no choice but to dial Mireya's number and ask her to come to my aid. I didn't know how I had managed to return to the Golden Crest. I felt dazed, as if I had been trapped in a terrible nightmare.
Mireya wanted to call the pack's witch doctor to tend to my wounds, but I declined. Instead, I slowly began using my Gift to heal myself, piece by piece. At that moment, I needed the physical pain to mask the anguish that was tearing me apart inside. Mireya seemed to think my distress was due to the cruel words of the she-wolves in the garden. She attempted to comfort me, saying, "Luna, you will have a child. Don't worry now."
I forced a bitter smile at Mireya's words. How could I give birth to a child on my own? Archie had no interest in being intimate with me. In the two years we'd been married, he had only slept with me for few times, and afterward, he insisted that I take birth control pills.
I thanked Mireya and retreated back to my bedroom, drowning in despair. I didn't want anyone to witness the wreckage of my marriage, which brought me nothing but shame and humiliation.
Mireya's words, however, sparked a thought. What if I had a child? Would that change Archie's feelings for me with our baby? Even if he still didn't love me, at least I could secure an heir for the Golden Crest. Now that love was out of reach, I could still have power and protect my family in the Black Furies.
I locked myself in the bedroom for an entire day and night without eating anything, and Archie didn't return. The only good thing was that my Gift cured the pains on my skin, which made me look like a normal person instead of a patient, although my body was still hurt. When the first rays of morning sunlight pierced through the window, I finally heard the sound of the bedroom door opening.
My husband had returned after spending the entire night with another woman. Faced with the ruins of my marriage, where should I go from now?
Alisha’s POV I bit my lip and closed my eyes to pretend that I was sleeping, for I didn’t know how to face my husband now. Alisha, you’re such a coward! You couldn't keep living like this! You needed to confront Archie bravely. But I have loved him for two years, regarding him as the most important part of my life. How could I face the bloody truth now? Then I felt that that Archie lay on the bed next to me. "Alisha," a voice called out to me. It was Archie's voice, but it sounded different somehow. I wanted to have a baby with Archie. Maybe after the baby was born, Archied would focus his attention on us and stay at home. I turned to face him and reached into his pajamas, my finger ran over his strong body. I was satisfied when I heard Archie’s breath became thick with my touch. I never expected that I could marry Archie. Apart from his noble status in the pack, Archie was a dream lover for the woman for his appearance. He was the most handsome person I had ever seen. His face
Alisha’s POVFuck Archie!I’m about to explode with this bastard’s answer. How could he be so heartless? I took a deep breath before answering his call, my anger simmering just below the surface."What the hell are you talking about, Archie?" I called him and asked angrily."I never agreed to give you half of my money," he replied curtly.I couldn't believe his audacity. "I'm your wife as well as the Luna of the Golden Crest, Archie. I deserve a fair share of our assets.""That's not going to happen, Alisha. We're not getting divorced."I was taken aback. "What are you talking about? I told you this morning that I wanted a divorce. According to the werewolf rules, I was rejecting you and you didn't object.""I will never allow it." Archie insisted, his voice stern.I felt my blood boil. "You don't get to decide that! I'm done with this marriage, Archie. It's over."Archie growled on the other end of the line. "We got married before the Moon Goddess, Alisha. All the pack members witnes
Archie’s POVSexual dysfunction?Damn it! How dare she slander me?Did she forget who begged me to stop on my bed? This fucking bold girl! I must teach her a lesson!“Come on, buddy. Who let you refuse her and left the bedroom this morning? You deserve it!” My wolf gloated in my mind.“Shut up! You should go to sleep now!”“No, I am not sleepy at all. I prefer to mock you now. Archie, you’re healthy enough, right? But I also wonder how can you refuse Alisha on the bed this morning! If you are surely troubled by erectile dysfunction, I advise you to see the witch doctor or the human doctor. It’s said that the human doctors have made great progress in this field. I believe you can…”“Fuck off!” I snapped angrily in mind. My wolf was normal at usual, but it would become blabbering when it got excited. Now, it was obvious that it wouldn’t miss this chance to mock me.“Archie, don’t be so furious. Maybe Alisha was terrified by you, so she ran away to avoid seeing you.”“If you dare say one
Alisha’s POVThis morning, I received a piece of good news from Nova, “Alisha, I have sent your demo to a familiar music director, and he is interested in your work and invited us to talk the details today!”“That’s terrific! Nova, thank you so much!” I hugged Nova in glee. I never expected that my work could be recognized by other so quickly.“I did nothing. It’s your music that moves him! When he knew the composition comes from Theresa, he agreed to see us immediately. Alisha, you should thank yourself!”I was afraid of reveal personal information, especially as a werewolf, so when I published my song or sold the copy right to others, I always used the name “Theresa”. By the way, I had several millions fans on twitter, and I thought this was one of the reason that the director would like to give me a chance. We got to the director’s company and chatted with him. He had bought the copyright of my song and said that he would recommend me to sign me as a singer in his company. If every
Alisha’s POVI felt embarrassed, apologizing to him immediately, and then I ran away as quickly as I could before he opened his mouth. This might be impolite, butI don’t want others see me in a sorry state.I rushed into the restroom to wash my face and Nova just came out."What's up, Alisha?" Nova stepped closely, helping me clean my face."Don't worry. I met Archie just now and I ... I am getting a little worked up with that bastard." I answered after a sigh."Fuck, why does he come here? Isn't he supposed to accompany bitch Erma to comfort her now?" "What happened?" I caught a hidden meaning in her words and asked immediately."Oh, Erma becoming a hot search topic on Twitter, but…" Nova paused here on purpose, raising her eyebrow with a smirk, "I think you should watch it by yourself."I hurried to take out my phone and checked on Twitter.Erma had accepted an invitation to a benefit dinner for ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), but she finally broke the promise to attend with a
Alisha’s POV When I was hesitated whether I should ask help for Archie, Joey questioned closely, “Alisha, will Archie and his mother will come together, right?” No, he wouldn’t come. He even didn’t appear in our wedding anniversary, so how could he come here to celebrate your birthday? What’s more, I never informed Archie this thing, and I bet he wouldn’t remember your birthday. How should I answer Joey’s question? I wanted to cheat Joey that Archie was too busy to attend his birthday party, but I was afraid that Joey might call Archie personally to invite him. Then Joey must know I wanted to leave Archie. Evita added, “Dad, maybe Alisha ignored your words totally. Or, Archie is unsatisfied with Alisha, so he vents his anger on our pack. After all, since she married Archie, Archie never came to our pack. Dad, I warned you, it wasn’t a good idea to allow Alisha to be Archie’s wife!” Joey squinted after hearing Evita’s words, and then he became impatient with my silence, snapping,
Archie's POV After hanging up the phone with Alisha, I couldn't help but complain, "She's really audacious. She clearly needed a favor from me, but her attitude was so terrible. I wonder if she had a bad experience somewhere else and is taking it out on me. She only dares to vent her anger on me!" “Boy, cool down. I know you're unhappy and hurting, but you should reflect on yourself.” My wolf started to blabber on my mind. “Come on! What do I need to reflect? I have already seen through her. She needs an excuse to come back.” “What? Your wife has left home and wanted to divorce you, don’t you forget that?” “No! It’s just her tricks to get my attention. I know I was too busy these days, which might get her unhappy.” “Buddy, I think you are too optimistic. According to her attitude this morning, you are supposed to say more sweet words to get her back as soon as possible. Or I am afraid that you will be dumped poorly.” “Nonsense! She loves me very much! How can she leave me? I bet
Alisha’s POV After reading these two messages, I was immediately disgusted and started to retch. While I had already come to terms with the failure of my marriage, I couldn't tolerate Erma's provocation. I sat on a bench with a stern face, staring at these two messages for a full 10 minutes. I gripped my phone so tightly it seemed like I might crush it. Then, I narrowed my eyes and thought about the song I had just sold. Since Erma had snatched my song, I, as the creator of the song, could teach her a lesson when the time came. After all, Erma had always portrayed herself as a singer-songwriter. Hmph, she was nothing more than a thief. No matter how reluctant I was to see Archie, I must go to the Black Furies with him together. Or Joey must doubt my relationship with Archie. Just hold on a little longer, endure a bit more. I need to keep Joey calm, don't let him suspect me. Once I have saved up enough money, I would immediately find an opportunity to get my grandma out of the Blac
Alisha's POVI saw under the night sky, my pack was covered in flames everywhere, and the air was filled with the constant cries of pain. My warriors were being attacked by rogues, their blood staining the ground, but they remained fearless, bravely picking up their weapons to continue the fight. However, the rogues seemed to possess an undead-like ability. They were shrouded in an ominous black mist, making them seemingly impervious to attacks. Even when bleeding, they felt no pain or avoidance. These rogues had become pure fighting machines.Gray and Orathe activated the Dyess fam
Alisha's POVThe intense pain left my body numb, but for some reason, my consciousness remained clear. The next moment, a black wolf broke through the window, biting into half of Louie's body, causing him to collapse to the ground.I even heard the sound of bones being crushed. Louie's hand was pulled out of my body, and blood spurted out, staining the entire carpet red.My wolf immediately transitioned from the Bay to reality and began healing me. I heard the sound of blood flowing out of my chest, the angry growls of the black wolf, and people downstairs rushing up upon hearing th
Archie's POVAfter I woke up, I saw Shaunda's concerned expression. "How do you feel, Archie?""I'm okay. Where am I?" I tried to lift my hand to rub my forehead but felt a sharp pain in my arm. The memories of what happened earlier flooded back, and my expression darkened."Don't move. Your wounds are deep; you need rest," Shaunda quickly stopped my actions. "We were planning to go back to Golden Crest, but your injuries were too severe. We had to find a place to treat your wounds temporarily. You had a high fever and were talking nonsense all night. It scared me. If your condition
Archie's POVI was carried away from Blood Dawn by my wolf, blood oozing from my wounds. Yet, the physical pain couldn't compare to the agony in my heart. My heart was dead; how could my body still feel?Alisha's determined face as she stabbed me haunted me. The piercing coldness seeped through every pore when I recalled that moment. She was willing to kill me for another man—her husband, as she emphasized. Husband, a title I once scoffed at, now tore me apart. My wolf seemed distraught too, incessantly muttering and complaining in my mind. "What have you done this time?" "I a
Alisha's POVAfter the wedding ceremony, considering Louie's health, I chose not to attend the evening party. With Nova's assistance, I changed out of my wedding gown and took Louie back to the room to rest.Tonight was the first night of our marriage, and as we entered the room, I felt a hint of nervousness. On the night I married Archie, he didn't sleep with me; instead, he slept in a guest room. Now, looking at our bridal chamber, I felt a bit lost.Louie seemed to sense my nervousness. He comfortingly smiled at me and said, "Sorry, because of me, you can't join the evening gathe
Archie's POVI had fantasized countless times about what my mate had described as her wolf. I wondered what it would look like. Now I knew. It was the most wonderful creature in the world, a gift from Moon Goodness to this world. Moonlight fell on its pure white fur, making it shimmer as if it had walked out of a fairy tale.I opened my mouth, staring motionlessly at the white wolf not far ahead. Its eyes, as clear and beautiful as jewels, met mine, and a breeze carried a delightful scent from its fur. It was the light in this dark world. With just one glance, I knew it must be Alis
Alisha's POVI never thought Archie would appear at my wedding. Why is he here? My palms were instantly soaked with cold sweat.Louie kept staring at me, noticing my tension and unease. He took my hand, holding it firmly as if trying to warm me. In a soft whisper, he reassured me, "I'm here. Don't worry."I tried to ignore the piercing glances behind me, following Gray's guidance with a stiff body, step by step, until I stood opposite him. Before me was Louie's face, but in my mind, Archie's face flas
Archie's POVI looked at the person in disbelief, and it turned out to be Louie! He was dressed in a suit, and although he looked a bit pale, he seemed lively, radiating joy. Yes, today he was going to marry Alisha, how could he not be happy? What were my feelings when I was going to marry Alisha before? I seemed to have forgotten, and back then, Alisha was just a command from Shaunda to me. I didn't care at that time, and I don't even have memories of our wedding.Thinking about it now, it fills me with profound bitterness. If there were a time machine, I would definitely go back and tell my indifferent self: you will fall in love with your bride; please treat her well from now on.Unfortunately, time doesn't rewind. Now, I could only, in regret, watch Louie in a groom's suit approach me step by step. I felt like a defeated person, trying to maintain pride and dignity in front of the winner.Upon hearing Louie's words, Gray frowned and said to Louie, "Why are you here? Go back and pr
Archie's POVHowever, as I was about to enter Blood Dawn, a shout suddenly came, "Stop!"I followed the voice and found Gray. I frowned and then calmly explained, "I'm here to attend... to attend the wedding." It was really hard for me to speak out this answer.Gray hurried over, shook his head at me, and said, "Today is an important day for Alisha. I don't want to fight with you at this moment. So be sensible and leave on your own."His voice was cold and full of hostility. I knew about his relationship with Alisha, so from his perspective, he had a reason not to like me. But regardless, today I must see Alisha, and no one, not even her brother, can stop me."I mean no harm. I know my actions hurt Alisha, and I just want to see her and apologize.""Put away that disgusting face of yours. Alisha is about to start her new life, and she doesn't need your apology or to see you again. Leave immediately!"Though I was prepared, hearing this response was
