Archie's POV
After hanging up the phone with Alisha, I couldn't help but complain, "She's really audacious. She clearly needed a favor from me, but her attitude was so terrible. I wonder if she had a bad experience somewhere else and is taking it out on me. She only dares to vent her anger on me!"
“Boy, cool down. I know you're unhappy and hurting, but you should reflect on yourself.” My wolf started to blabber on my mind.
“Come on! What do I need to reflect? I have already seen through her. She needs an excuse to come back.”
“What? Your wife has left home and wanted to divorce you, don’t you forget that?”
“No! It’s just her tricks to get my attention. I know I was too busy these days, which might get her unhappy.”
“Buddy, I think you are too optimistic. According to her attitude this morning, you are supposed to say more sweet words to get her back as soon as possible. Or I am afraid that you will be dumped poorly.”
“Nonsense! She loves me very much! How can she leave me? I bet she has been missing me over these days.”
“How can you see that?”
“She came to my company this morning, I bet she wanted to see me secretly.”
“Anything else?”
“She sent me message on the pretext of her uncle’s birthday. I knew she intended to talk with me. she must know her mistake and wanted to come back, so I gave her an out but she didn’t catch it! That stupid girl!”
“I don’t know what to say, bro, but for the Moon Goodness’s sake, please don’t be so confident and perform well tomorrow to make her happy. Remember, your wife has NOT been back yet!”
“Don’t worry, I promise that she will come home with me together tomorrow. After all, I agreed to attend her uncle’s boring party. Normally, the Black Furies is not qualified to invite me.”
“Canceling tomorrow’s meeting to accept Alisha’s request is the only right thing you made today.”
I had no time to chat with my wolf now, for it reminded me that I should cancel my appointment for tomorrow.
"Louie, something came up, so I can't meet you anymore."
Louie was the youngest son of the Alpha of Deep moon. Our packs were ally and we grew up together. I regarded him as my best friend.
In the werewolf world that admires the power, he is a unique being who enjoyed art and cherished peace, spending most of his time in the human world on exhibitions, concerts and traveling. He opened an entertainment company that encompassed various fields such as performance, music, and stage plays.
"Oh, how can you treat me like this? I just did a great favor to you, selling that wonderful song to Erma. Do you know how angry my music director Bob was? He looked at me in horrible disbelief as though I was an idiot."
"Stop complaining. My price is double or even three times higher than the normal price. I bet you must be happy with this deal."
"Hah, thanks for you generosity, Archie. Why do you insist on sending this song to Erma, do you really love her so much? I have to say, her voice is not suitable for this song at all."
"That's none of your business."
"Well, but I wonder what makes you stand me up? Because of Erma?" Louie asked meaningfully.
"Fuck off. I need to accompany my wife to attend her uncle's birthday party."
"Wow, Alisha, right? I feel pity for missing you wedding ceremony two years ago while I was on a travel abroad. I am very curious about that girl-what magic she has can have you step into the grave of marriage."
"Why are you paying attention to my wife? Do you have nothing better to do?" I frowned with Louie's question.
"Calm down, buddy, you are too nervous! I know Alisha is your wife! I promise no matter how stunning your wife looks, I will never have designs on her, for I have met my own mate. Don't worry, I am looking forward to see you next time." Louie answered in a pleasant tone.
I was shocked with his words, for Louie was born with a prophecy from that he destined be alone through his whole life. But now, Louie said that he had met his mate…
"Are you serious?"
"Huh, of course. I fell in love with her at the first sight. Although my wolf didn't give me any sign, my heart told me so."
"Which pack that she-werewolf comes from?"
"I have no idea. She likes a cute rabbit, jumping into my chest with red eyes and then ran away quickly. Actually, I know nothing about her now, but I have a feeling that I will meet her soon."
"Well, good luck. Whatever, I am glad that you have found your lover."
"Thanks, hope the next time, I can take her to see your wife. We can have a double date."
I raised my eyebrow and then hung up the phone.
"Archie, even Louie has met his lover, you must work hard to get Alisha back. Otherwise, you have to attend the double mate alone. Poor guy." My wolf started nagging again.
My temples began hurt and ignored its words, calling Brad.
"Alpha, I'm at your service."
“Brad, send my mom to the Black Furies before 5 p.m. to attend Joey’s birthday party.”
“Got it.”
Then I paused for a while and continued, “Order a bouquet of flower for me.” It’s said that woman loves flowers. If Alisha received it, she would be happy and agree to go home with me.
“Fine, but what kind of flowers would you like?”
“Which one the girls love most?”
“Hmm, can I know to whom are you going to send the flowers? Your mother or anyone else?”
After a long silence, I answered in a flat voice, “Alisha.”
“Alpha, don’t you know your wife’s favorite flower?”
I indeed had no answer. To be honest, I rarely paid attention to her or cared about what she liked or hated since I married her.
I just knew that she loved me, so no matter when I needed her, she would appear in time. She never left me during our marriage. But now, she refused to go back home.
If this was her plan to get my attention, I had to say that she made it.
“Rose. I want red rose.”
“Fine. I think Luna will love it. No girls can refuse red rose.”
"Hey, Archie, you know what Alisha really wants! I bet a baby will be the best gift for her." my wolf suggested in my mind.
"No, she can't have my baby." I replied firmly.
Alisha's POV
Hearing Bob's words, I took a deep breath and replied, "Fine, Bob, you say, I'm listening."
"Alisha, as the Music Director at DM, I shouldn't be saying what I'm about to say. However, as a fellow musician, I feel obligated to tell you that you are more suited to sing this song than Erma. Unfortunately, someone is willing to pay a significant amount of money to help Erma secure this opportunity, and I can't change that. But I highly appreciate your music composition talent and your singing voice. I hope you can become an outstanding singer. Don't let this situation bring you down; keep working hard! You will definitely succeed."
My voice trembled as I managed to utter, "Thank you, thank you for believing in me."
After ending the call, my heart was filled with a whirlwind of emotions. While I had received Bob's acknowledgment, my inner turmoil remained unsettled.
I took out my phone and searched for news about Erma online. The first headline that caught my eye was, "Renowned singer Erma and mysterious boyfriend spend a romantic night together, suspected birthday celebration." This was followed by "Erma hints at releasing a new song" and "Erma mentions during an interview that she can't disclose her boyfriend's identity."
I masochistically browsed through these news articles, and each one felt like a sharp knife stabbing into my chest.
When I learned that Erma had stolen my opportunity, anger once again blazed within me. My anger was not just because my chance had been taken away but because I had a gut feeling that the person Bob mentioned, the one helping Erma, was very likely to be Archie, my husband!
I knew Archie had been providing resources for Erma, helping her become a well-known singer. I used to think he did it out of guilt, considering that he married me instead of Erma to obey his grandmother's orders. Therefore, he might want to make amends for her.
But now it seemed I had been too naive! He was Erma's sugar daddy! In his eyes, Erma was his treasure, while I meant nothing.
I mocked myself. Just a few minutes ago, I had fantasies about him and worried he wouldn't eat well after I left. That was so stupid. Alisha, you need to wake up from this dream!
Just then, a text message notification interrupted my chaotic thoughts. I furrowed my brows as I opened it, and the message with photo sent shivers down my spine, "I have some good news to share with you. I'm pregnant. Here's my check-up report, and by the way, the red roses next to it are from Archie, celebrating this good news. - Erma."
Immediately following, another message arrived, "I want to meet with you to talk about this child. After all, he is Archie's baby, and you will love him too, won't you?"
Alisha’s POV After reading these two messages, I was immediately disgusted and started to retch. While I had already come to terms with the failure of my marriage, I couldn't tolerate Erma's provocation. I sat on a bench with a stern face, staring at these two messages for a full 10 minutes. I gripped my phone so tightly it seemed like I might crush it. Then, I narrowed my eyes and thought about the song I had just sold. Since Erma had snatched my song, I, as the creator of the song, could teach her a lesson when the time came. After all, Erma had always portrayed herself as a singer-songwriter. Hmph, she was nothing more than a thief. No matter how reluctant I was to see Archie, I must go to the Black Furies with him together. Or Joey must doubt my relationship with Archie. Just hold on a little longer, endure a bit more. I need to keep Joey calm, don't let him suspect me. Once I have saved up enough money, I would immediately find an opportunity to get my grandma out of the Blac
Alisha’s POVI had to maintain the facade of a perfect wife in front of Joey, so I forced myself to respond to Archie's question with a smile, "I'm sorry, honey. I was asked to help with the cooking." I said this deliberately, knowing that Archie would be upset if he found out his wife was being mistreated by others. While he might not care about me personally, as the ruler of the Golden Crest pack, he wouldn't tolerate anyone challenging his authority.Indeed, Archie glared at Joey and Aunt Patria after hearing my words. He snapped, "Why do you need my wife, the Luna of the Golden Crest, to serve you?""No, Archie, I... I just thought that Alisha is good at cooking, so..." Patria tried to explain, her face turning pale under Archie's intense gaze.I was pleased to witness this scene, but Joey hurried to come to my aid, saying, "Alisha, we treat you very well, don't we?"Suppressing my laughter, I replied, "Archie, I was more than willing to help. You've always enjoyed the dishes I ma
Alisha's POVAfter I got into the car, I expressed my gratitude to Brad, saying, "Thank you for your help just now.""It's no problem. I was simply following the Alpha's orders. He had some urgent matters to attend to, so he asked me to take care of you," Brad replied.I smirked and asked with curiosity, "Really? So, what was it that he needed to deal with?"Brad glanced at my expression through the rearview mirror and hesitated before speaking, "Um...actually, I...I guess it is a business meeting."I caught his gaze in the mirror, but Brad quickly averted his eyes and focused on the road ahead. It was evident that he was helping Archie conceal some embarrassing secret from me, which made him feel guilty. There was no point in pressuring Brad further. After all, he wasn't my husband. With that in mind, I turned my head away and stared out of the window. However, it soon dawned on me that we weren't heading towards Nova's house but..."Wait, Brad! Where are you taking me?" I asked imme
Alisha's POV"Miss, can I assist you?" he stepped out of the car, extending a black umbrella over my head. I flinched slightly as he approached, my uneasiness apparent. Sensing my discomfort, he promptly halted."Don't worry. I too am a werewolf from the Deep Moon pack. I can sense our shared nature. I won't hurt you. Please trust me." He locked his genuine blue eyes with mine.As I beheld those eyes, familiarity struck me—I had encountered him before! After a heated argument with Archie, I had fled and inadvertently collided with this man. To my surprise, he held no grudges and even offered me a tissue to wipe away my tears!A sigh of relief escaped me as I recollected the encounter. At least he wasn't a malevolent individual. As my tension eased, I couldn't suppress a sneeze. It was an embarrassingly awkward moment. Lowering his head, he asked with concern, "Are you alright?"Before I could respond, another sneeze erupted, intensifying my embarrassment. He furrowed his brow and gall
Alisha's POVJust after I angrily ending the call, Nova rushed downstairs upon hearing my voice, immediately noticing my drenched state and the borrowed coat."What happened, Alisha? You're completely soaked!" Nova exclaimed with concern."Long story, Nova. Damn Archie drove me out of his car, and the weather was against me today. But I met someone who helped me, and he lent me his coat," I explained.Nova raised an eyebrow, a mischievous grin spreading across her face. "Oh, really? I wanted to curse Archie, but please let me know who might this someone be?"I blushed, realizing how it sounded. "No, it's not what you're thinking! He's a werewolf too, from the Deep Moon pack. I hit him accidently before, and he recognized me today."Nova's eyes widened in surprise. "Wait, you mean that guy you met when you ran away from Archie? The one who gave you a tissue?"I nodded, a smile playing at my lips. "Yes, that's him. His name is Louie. He is genuinely kind and offered me shelter from the
Alisha’s POVThe next morning arrived, and I sought Nova's assistance in finding a suitable jewellery store where the ring could be rented out. I hurried back to the Golden Crest myself. As I stepped through the front door, a wave of memories washed over me, like an old photograph coming to life. The house, with its familiar layout and cozy corners, held stories of a life I loved very much before. But today, I had found my new life, and I couldn't let nostalgia distract me.In the heart of that house, I found my way to the kitchen. It was a place that had always offered solace, a sanctuary where I could lose myself in the art of cooking. Today, it became my refuge, a way to shield myself from the inevitable conversation with Archie. As I cooked, the aroma of the food filled the air, awakening a mix of emotions within me. It reminded me of the times when I used to cook meals for Archie. Since I married him, I worked hard to research what he liked to eat, trying to please him in this way
Alisha’s POV "Hi, Louie, I am Theresa, I am very sorry to trouble you. I remember you are from Deep Moon. I want to hire ten warriors to protect the Black Furies. Could you help me get in touch with them? I'm willing to offer a generous reward." With a hopeful mindset, I made a call to Louie. After all, he was the only werewolf from another pack that I knew. "Fine, Theresa. I'll have to ask my Alpha. We sometimes would accept the protection task, so it shouldn't be a problem. But I'd like to know, why do you need to hire warriors? It's important for us." "We received information that a group of rogues from the Dark Forest will be reaching our territory. We're concerned about a potential conflict. Our own... honestly speaking, we're not skilled in combat." As I said this, my face flushed with embarrassment. Though it was true, our pack had few warriors, and even my own ability was limited to wound healing. I couldn't shift or engage in battle, so this Gift was useless in fact. "Alri
Alisha's POVAs I read that tweet, a wave of disgust surged within me. Even though Erma had no idea that I was Theresa, her words still made me uncomfortable. It was a reminder that regardless of which identity I assumed, Erma remained my enemy. In the next moment, Nova's call came through."Alisha, did you see Erma's tweet? How dare she have the audacity! That despicable woman!""Yes, I saw it.""She claims the company ultimately chose her. Disgusting! She's lying! She's deliberately using Theresa to elevate herself!"I let out a sigh. "Let it go. Since I've already sold the rights to the song, let them do as they please. I've had a tiring day, Nova.""Alisha, well, I have some good news that might bring a smile to your face once you hear it!""What is it?" I asked curiously."Why don't you take a guess?" Nova replied, feigning mystery."Please spare me, sweetie. I really can't guess. You know how difficult things have been for me lately, all because of that jerk Archie. Today, I nea
Alisha's POVI saw under the night sky, my pack was covered in flames everywhere, and the air was filled with the constant cries of pain. My warriors were being attacked by rogues, their blood staining the ground, but they remained fearless, bravely picking up their weapons to continue the fight. However, the rogues seemed to possess an undead-like ability. They were shrouded in an ominous black mist, making them seemingly impervious to attacks. Even when bleeding, they felt no pain or avoidance. These rogues had become pure fighting machines.Gray and Orathe activated the Dyess fam
Alisha's POVThe intense pain left my body numb, but for some reason, my consciousness remained clear. The next moment, a black wolf broke through the window, biting into half of Louie's body, causing him to collapse to the ground.I even heard the sound of bones being crushed. Louie's hand was pulled out of my body, and blood spurted out, staining the entire carpet red.My wolf immediately transitioned from the Bay to reality and began healing me. I heard the sound of blood flowing out of my chest, the angry growls of the black wolf, and people downstairs rushing up upon hearing th
Archie's POVAfter I woke up, I saw Shaunda's concerned expression. "How do you feel, Archie?""I'm okay. Where am I?" I tried to lift my hand to rub my forehead but felt a sharp pain in my arm. The memories of what happened earlier flooded back, and my expression darkened."Don't move. Your wounds are deep; you need rest," Shaunda quickly stopped my actions. "We were planning to go back to Golden Crest, but your injuries were too severe. We had to find a place to treat your wounds temporarily. You had a high fever and were talking nonsense all night. It scared me. If your condition
Archie's POVI was carried away from Blood Dawn by my wolf, blood oozing from my wounds. Yet, the physical pain couldn't compare to the agony in my heart. My heart was dead; how could my body still feel?Alisha's determined face as she stabbed me haunted me. The piercing coldness seeped through every pore when I recalled that moment. She was willing to kill me for another man—her husband, as she emphasized. Husband, a title I once scoffed at, now tore me apart. My wolf seemed distraught too, incessantly muttering and complaining in my mind. "What have you done this time?" "I a
Alisha's POVAfter the wedding ceremony, considering Louie's health, I chose not to attend the evening party. With Nova's assistance, I changed out of my wedding gown and took Louie back to the room to rest.Tonight was the first night of our marriage, and as we entered the room, I felt a hint of nervousness. On the night I married Archie, he didn't sleep with me; instead, he slept in a guest room. Now, looking at our bridal chamber, I felt a bit lost.Louie seemed to sense my nervousness. He comfortingly smiled at me and said, "Sorry, because of me, you can't join the evening gathe
Archie's POVI had fantasized countless times about what my mate had described as her wolf. I wondered what it would look like. Now I knew. It was the most wonderful creature in the world, a gift from Moon Goodness to this world. Moonlight fell on its pure white fur, making it shimmer as if it had walked out of a fairy tale.I opened my mouth, staring motionlessly at the white wolf not far ahead. Its eyes, as clear and beautiful as jewels, met mine, and a breeze carried a delightful scent from its fur. It was the light in this dark world. With just one glance, I knew it must be Alis
Alisha's POVI never thought Archie would appear at my wedding. Why is he here? My palms were instantly soaked with cold sweat.Louie kept staring at me, noticing my tension and unease. He took my hand, holding it firmly as if trying to warm me. In a soft whisper, he reassured me, "I'm here. Don't worry."I tried to ignore the piercing glances behind me, following Gray's guidance with a stiff body, step by step, until I stood opposite him. Before me was Louie's face, but in my mind, Archie's face flas
Archie's POVI looked at the person in disbelief, and it turned out to be Louie! He was dressed in a suit, and although he looked a bit pale, he seemed lively, radiating joy. Yes, today he was going to marry Alisha, how could he not be happy? What were my feelings when I was going to marry Alisha before? I seemed to have forgotten, and back then, Alisha was just a command from Shaunda to me. I didn't care at that time, and I don't even have memories of our wedding.Thinking about it now, it fills me with profound bitterness. If there were a time machine, I would definitely go back and tell my indifferent self: you will fall in love with your bride; please treat her well from now on.Unfortunately, time doesn't rewind. Now, I could only, in regret, watch Louie in a groom's suit approach me step by step. I felt like a defeated person, trying to maintain pride and dignity in front of the winner.Upon hearing Louie's words, Gray frowned and said to Louie, "Why are you here? Go back and pr
Archie's POVHowever, as I was about to enter Blood Dawn, a shout suddenly came, "Stop!"I followed the voice and found Gray. I frowned and then calmly explained, "I'm here to attend... to attend the wedding." It was really hard for me to speak out this answer.Gray hurried over, shook his head at me, and said, "Today is an important day for Alisha. I don't want to fight with you at this moment. So be sensible and leave on your own."His voice was cold and full of hostility. I knew about his relationship with Alisha, so from his perspective, he had a reason not to like me. But regardless, today I must see Alisha, and no one, not even her brother, can stop me."I mean no harm. I know my actions hurt Alisha, and I just want to see her and apologize.""Put away that disgusting face of yours. Alisha is about to start her new life, and she doesn't need your apology or to see you again. Leave immediately!"Though I was prepared, hearing this response was
