Three years ago

I was in the kitchen, preparing coffee when Gabby walked in looking like shit. I handed her a cup of coffee and she blew me a kiss as she sat down.

"How are you feeling?" I asked her. Gabby loves her alcohol but I've never seen her this drunk before.

Sipping her coffee a little loudly, she shrugged "I feel better than I deserve. When did I get home?"

Get home my ass "you mean, when I picked you up?" Remembering the mess she made on my rug is bad enough to sore my mood

She winced "is it that bad? How bad was it?"

"Bad enough that you wanted to join a stripper on stage" pouring myself a cup of coffee, I turned to glare at her just yesterday, I told you that if we want to fight dirty with Richard, then you must abstain from anything that will lead to scandal then you go off and try that nonsense. Do you know what it would have looked like for you to appear in front of a magazine drunk as fuck and dancing like a damn stripper?

PersefoniI watched with wide eyes as Gabriel ordered his sister to leave his house. And did he just fire her? I watched as Gabriella cleaned her tears stained face, she gave me a sad smile before picking up her phone which was lying on the table."I'm sorry you had to see us fight like that Persefoni"Well I'm the one who should be sorry for standing here during the fight and making everything awkward thereafter. "It's okay, I'm sure Gabriel will calm down pretty soon, then you both can work things out"Smiling sadly at me, she shook her head "the last time I saw him this angry was three years ago but the anger was directed towards my parents and ever since then, they are yet to amend their broken relationship""I don't know what his relationship with your parents was like before, but one thing I do know is that your relationship with Gabriel is very tight, and he won't destroy it just because of your one mistake"Sniffing, she looked up dabbing tears

GabrielWhen Persefoni told me that Peter is here, that was when I realized how stupid I am. How can I be drafting a contract without my lawyer? A lawyer that I happened to fire just yesterday but when Peter also walked in without his lawyer I began to wonder what we are really going to be doing here today.Peter walked in and sat down, giving me that creepy smile of his that will make other people very uncomfortable. "You look good Gabriel" crossing one of his legs across his knees, he relaxed comfortably, a little comfortably for someone who came for business purposes."I can't see your lawyer anywhere Peter, need I ask you where they are? And what you are doing here without them?"He shrugged nonchalantly "my lawyer had a family emergency that couldn't wait, so I let him go for the mean time but I didn't want to miss my appointment with you, so here I am without my lawyer but I don't see yours either Gabriel"Is he baiting me? Three years agoThings have been going perfectly fine with Susan and I. I can't believe we been together for just six months, it feels as if I've known her forever. I practically kneeled down before her and pleaded with her to move in with me but stubbornly refused.A knock on my door brought me back to the stack of documents and files on my desk demanding my attention. The person at the other end does not obviously need my permission to enter because the door opened and in walked the master planner, my mother.I stood up at her arrival out of respect. "Mum, you didn't tell me you were coming, is everything okay?"My mother has the ability to make ordinary sitting down look classy, she dropped her Prada handbag on my desk before crossing her legs "I am here to actually see your father, so I decided to drop by and have a little chat with you"Closing my laptop, I gave her my full attention "what do you want to talk about?"My secretary opened my door and

PersefoniI got home that night before Gabe, I saw Jennifer setting the table, she pretended as if she didn't see me come in, not that I care."I won't be having dinner this night Jennifer, count me out"She finally looked up "is Mr. Washington not having dinner too?"I continued my journey to my room without stopping "you should wait until he gets back. Only him has the answer to that question" not waiting to hear her response, I walked into my room, locked my door, removed my shoe and slumped on the bed.I thought about today's event, my encounter with Logan and Gabe's suspicious questioning. It's very funny that the ancestors think that me Persefoni, a cursed slave is going to cause the downfall of witches. That is absolutely ridiculous.Bonnie will be so delighted to do this work. After all she is the reason I got arrested the last time. I looked around the room. What am I even doing here? I know who attacked me and Gabe cannot help me in anyw

GabrielFlipping through some files, my mind kept drifting to Gabby and Ken. Why would Ken cheat on her? I thought he loves her, so why cheat? My father is a lot of things, but a cheat isn't one of them. My ringtone brought my mind back from that direction its going, seeing Desmond's name, I picked the call."Boss... She's missing"My world stilled. My heart doubled its beat "who is missing?" God help him if it is what I really think."Miss Persefoni sir... She left for bathroom break and is yet to come back sir. We've searched the ladies toilet but no one is there. The boys are out the street looking, I'm sure they will find her""How difficult is it to keep one woman, just one woman safe and in sight?" I spat "how long did she leave for the bathroom break before you discovered she's missing?""She was gone for thirty minutes sir"Fuckkk!!! "Thirty fucking minutes? And you think whoever that took her will wait around until you find them? You think

Three years agoI couldn't concentrate; my mind always finds a way to drift to Susan. Today she's packing all her stuffs to come live with me. If not for a very important meeting that I have today, I would have stayed with her.Ever since I heard she's carrying my baby, I've taken extra care with the things I do around her. I don't drink alcohol around her so she won't have the urge to drink too. I've prevented her from carrying anything heavy which is why I hired people to help her move the things she wants to bring home."So what do you think Mr. Gabriel?"I blinked back to reality. Staring at the young presenter, I looked around to find everybody's eyes on me including that of Mr. Washington my father."What do you think son?" He asked, pointing towards the drawing on the marker board "with everything she has said so far, I need your input. Do you think it's a good business venture or not?"I didn't hear a word she said so I don't know what to

  • Refrainment   Chapter 23

PersefoniIt's been two months since I left New York, with hope that Bonnie and Logan will come after me but so far, I've neither seen them or heard anything about them. Maybe they got tired of searching for me so they returned to the coven."Are you going to give me my coffee or do you want to hold on to it the whole day!?" The irritated customer snapped at me, clearly tired of waiting for me.I smiled apologetically at her before handing the coffee over to her. She glared at me before taking the coffee forcefully causing some of it to spill. Not even slightly bothered with the mess she created, she walked swiftly out of the coffee shop.Taking a rag, I wiped the spilled coffee before attending to the next customer with the fake painful smile permanently plastered on my face and that was how I spent the rest of my day making and serving coffee.I got home very late in the night, thanks to my pain in the ass in the person of Chris who happens to be the owner

PerseforniShould I go with her? All I have to do is learn some magic for my self defense... I'm not going to fight anybody unless they come for me. I can also use it to keep Gabriel and Gabriella safe. I can also break off the curse, then I can finally be with Gabriel..."Are your passing the coffee or what!?" A voice snapped at me, bringing me back to reality.I smiled apolitically towards the already annoyed customer. Just to placate the angry customer, I offered my money for lunch "the coffee is on the house ma'am"The woman looked as if she wasn't in the best of moods because she slammed her bill on the counter, glared at me heavily before storming out of the coffee shop. I turned to the left only to find the manager glaring at me too.He matched over to the counter and instructed Laura to take over "to my office now!" He barked, his face showing just how angry he is.I followed him like a lost and wet puppy as we headed for his office. Immed

Persefoni Five months laterEverything seem to be going perfectly fine. The baby is growing healthily, Sophia is more welcoming towards me and Logan finally moved the witches to New York… and of course, the daughter’s of Morgana refused to leave with him.Oh! The most important news! How could I have forgotten that?I’m getting married next month. You damn heard me right! Gabe asked me to be his wife last month, and I said yes. Come next month, I’m going to be officially Mrs. Washington.Okay! So today is my last fitting and I’m so excited. My phone and I took my eyes away from the road to search for my phone. When I saw Gabby’s name, I knew why she’s ringing me. “Gabby? I swear, I’m almost there. You’ll see me in five.”“You better hurry Persefoni,” she warned “your wedding planner is gradually getting upset, and I can’t stall her any longer.”“Tell her to give me five minutes, I swear it, I’ll be there.” I increased my speed. “Offer to buy her coffee…or maybe” The call was interrup

  • Refrainment   Chapter 41

GabrielThere is a moment in everyone’s life we have to die. Death is something inevitable in the life of anything that eats, breath and reproduces. The most important thing that matters is the legacy we leave, the love we showered on people during our lifetime. These are what matters, necessary things that we have to do before we meet our end, so we’ll be missed, missed and remembered by many. I watched the priest with aloofness. This day reminds me of the day I buried Susan, and it’s not a memory that I want to remember right now. Sophia cried ugly tears beside me, while Gabby and Claire tried their best to console her. You heard me, Claire; somehow mom managed to invite her for the funeral despite my warnings. I felt someone’s hand grab mine. I stared at the ring unclad finger. She squeezed lightly, offering me comfort that I’ve decided not to agree that I need. Yes, he’s my father, but I haven’t been in a good relationship for many years, I only tried to fix things recently and

PersefoniFor a moment, I thought Canine was going to ignore what she saw earlier. I told her indirectly that I do not want to discuss the baby in the presence of these people, but she just had to ruin everything for me; now Gabe is never going to let me go.“Persefoni?” Gabe growled. “Say something.”Blinking rapidly, I tried not to glare at Canine. It will not only be rude to glare at a descendant of Morgana , it will be outright disastrous. “Can we do this later? In the absence of extra pairs of eyes.”He didn’t like it, not one bit but he let it go, for now. Grateful for his understanding, I focused on Canine. “What do you mean this prophecy isn’t about me but my child?” They exchanged glances, communicating silently. “Say something!” I snapped and Logan quickly grabbed my hand reminding me of my place.Sucking in deep breath, I willed myself to calm down. “I’m sorry for snapping at you, just that the tension and silence is killing me.”Gabe stared at Logan’s hand which is still h

Gabriel I do not know how to prepare while visiting witches coven, but I did pack a suitcase. Persefoni watched me as I grabbed my power bank along with my phone.“What are you doing with that?” Persefoni asked, her lips stretched with a smile. “You honestly think you’re going to need that?”I stared at the two objects in my hand, confused at which object is the topic of discussion. “I’m a business man Persefoni, I need my phone with me at all time.” I looked at her hand. “Where is your suitcase?”“Outside.” She returned around and walked towards the entrance door. “I was talking about the power bank, you won’t need it over there.”Dominic opened the car trunk and placed our bag in. “Why won’t I need it? I didn’t know witches have steady.” I teased. Her deep laughter vibrated throughout the car which made me smile. I miss this moment, moments that I make her smile.“When I said you don’t need the power bank, I didn’t say that because there will steady light supply, I said that becaus

Persefoni This is insane. I know I shouldn’t carry on with this, but I can’t bear to disappoint Gabby. I would have carried on with this if Caro didn’t give me the best news of my life.I’m pregnant. I’m carrying an evidence of the love Gabe and I shared.Placing my hand on my stomach, I thought of how best to break the news to Gabby. She will surely to disappointed. I will too, if someone gave me such good hope, not to shatter it, I will be disappointed too.According to Caro, there is no way I’ll do this without harming myself and the baby, she went further to explain that maybe the prophecy wasn’t for me, but for my baby. Nevertheless, there is only one way to find out. I’ll have to pay the daughters of Morgana a visit, either today or tomorrow.Gabriel will be ecstatic about this baby, but I don’t know if I want to share this moment with him. I don’t even know if I can trust him again, especially when that bitch is still roaming round bf street of New York. Gabriel hurt me…he lit

  • Refrainment   Chapter 37

GabrielEverything sounds so crazy and surreal to me. Persefoni knows how much I love her, how much I need her, yet she's ready to sacrifice her life for a man who is paying for his sins. Rubbing my neck stiffly, I tried to get rid of the sudden ache but to no avail. Logan noticing just how hard this news is for me, he refilled my glass. "You are the only one who can talk her out of this Washington. She obviously doesn't listen to me anymore." I chuckled at his statement. "It's true." he argued. "I've been telling her to visit the daughters of Morgana since thy kingdom come, but she's yet to pay them a visit."Daughters of Morgana are bad news, Persefoni educated me on that. The only reason why she has to visit the daughters of Morgana is when she takes something she isn't suppose to consume. "Why did you insist on her paying them a visit?" a thought occurred to me. "Did she drink coffee?" Surely she cannot be that sucidial. He rolled his eyes at my question. "Persefoni hates coffe

  • Refrainment   Chapter 36

GabrielPersefoni has been troubled lately, and the fact the she has refused to tell me what's going on is really frustrating me. I watched her as she interacted with Gabby next to my father which only heightened my suspicion. Once upon a time, they weren't on talking terms, but it seems as if ever since I told Gabby about Persefoni's decision to heal our father, their friendship blossomed again. In conclusion, I don't think the idea of healing father is solely her decision, it seems someone else has been whispering to her. The door opened and my mum walked in with Claire, carrying a basket of fruit. I do not understand the reason why she's still hanging around. Yes, she apologized and I told her I'm over whatever happened in the past. Shouldn't she return to wherever she crawled out from? I glared at mum. What does she take me for? A fool? I totally understand the game she is playing, but if she pushes it too far, I'll be forced to take a decision that she won't like at all. "Ho

  • Refrainment   Chapter 35

PersefoniGabriel is getting worse. He's hardly at home, and the few hours that he decides to be at home, he's always on his phone. I've grown to ignore him, mostly because my new boss is killing me with extra work load. You heard me right. Gabriel finally bought Mr. Puna's company and Liam returned to his father company. According to him, his grandfather's company was on the verge of sinking anyways. He believes that there was nothing he would have done that will save it, but I think that's his own way of brushing up his ego. If that company was redemption, Gabriel wouldn't buy it for anything. I stared at the wall clock and considered calling Gabe. He's usually late, but never this late. The distant voice of Gabby took my mind off calling him for few minutes. Her footstep drew closer and closer until she appeared by the doorway. "I came to pick some clothes for Gabriel, he won't be coming home tonight."Panic freezed my blood. "Is everything okay? Why isn't he coming home tonight

  • Refrainment   Chapter 34

PersefoniI'm bleeding yet again. This time, I think I'm bleeding because of the stress. Gabby thinks I can heal her father of cancer. In all honesty, I wish I can, but I can't, the least I could do is to give him more time, slow the cancer growth and give him time to make peace with his family but Gabby has refused to believe me. She thinks I'm being stingy with my power. She thinks I do not want to heal him because of what he did to Gabriel, due to the fact, I'm her least favorite person. She doesn't take my calls and hardly says two words to me whenever she brings Vicky over to the house. Even Gabriel has noticed the tension between us and has questioned me few times on what was going on between Gabby and I, but I assured him that everything is absolutely fine. Don't get me started on Logan, he disappeared from the face of the earth after our last meeting. I wasn't expecting much from him, but the least he could do was to call me after dropping such silly news to me. Imagine al
