Olivia's POV

As Alpha Zander's voice just fell, I heard the guests gasp in surprise.

Marsh's face darkened. Clearly, he wasn't expecting Alpha Zander to back me up in public.

Emily froze, the smirk dying on her lips.

"Well, Alpha Zander—" Marsh stammered, trying to explain, but Alpha Zander just waved his hand, signaling him not to continue.

"I've made myself pretty clear," said Alpha Zander, his voice dripping with authority.

Emily squeezed out her reluctant apology through gritted teeth, "Since that's the case, I'll apologize for what I've done."

With that, she walked toward me with her wine glass in hand.

Noticing the flicker of annoyance in her eyes, I took a step back, but it was too late.

She had pretended to trip over her dress and spilled the wine all over my white gown.

The crisp sound of the glass shattering on the floor made the crowd kick up a low buzz of surprise.
