In a swift lunge, she grabbed Joshua by his collar and slammed him into the wall.

Her fingers turned into claws. I thought she was about to tear his throat out, but her dagger-like nails stopped inches away from his skin.

“If Zara’s gone, then how can I use her powers?” Carys’ eyes glowed, but they weren’t blue like Zara. They glowed in a color that was difficult to decipher. A color so otherworldly it was difficult to look at it for too long.
