CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND NINE

EDWIN

I was fixing a few things in my office when a knock came on the door.

"Come in," I called whoever was outside the door.

The door opened softly, and my guard walked into the room. He bowed in front of me, and I only nodded my head.

"There's a stranger out there to see you," he informed me.

I squeezed my brow in confusion. I didn't invite anyone, and I wasn't expecting a visitor today. It was hard for me to decide who would want to see me and why.

"Who is he?" I asked.

"He said his name is Callon and that he would help you in many ways. He claimed to have something that you need."

I closed the files in my hand and walked out of the shelf where I had been standing.

"Have you met him before?" I asked.

He shook his head. I thought about what help he had to offer. What if he was a hungry omega seeking attention? Or, this was all a prank or a setup?

My curiosity was piqued already, and I wanted to know what this Callon man had to offer.

"He said he

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TENI wanted to stay back and eavesdrop on the rogue and Edwin. But I was too tired, and I didn't want Edwin to smell me around. I could tell that he was already suspicious of me, and I didn't want him to get even more suspicious. I hoped that the rogue would keep his big mouth shut and not get me into trouble. I met one of the maids on the way, and she informed me that Lucy needed my attention in the kitchen, so I went. A few maids were there in the kitchen already. They were washing plates used to eat dinner and a few other things. "Have you served the drink already?" She asked, pulling me towards her.I nodded my head. She had this worried look on her face, and I wondered what was going on. "Are you okay?" I asked her. "Of course," she replied with a nod. "Just that I'll be going to the red breeder pack."I furrowed my brows. She paused and scanned the kitchen with her eyes. She was talking in a low tone. She pushed her head forward and continued to s

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND ELEVENRIVERI fell into my bed. I had too much to drink, and I was also exhausted from the day's work. I began to feel weird and bothered. I turned around on the bed continuously. I wondered what it was. I made up my mind to force sleep so I'd be fine when I woke up. I closed my eyes to sleep when I suddenly began to hear Elara's voice. At first, I thought it was in my dream. I soon realized that Elara had been trying so hard to connect to me, but it was impossible because I was drunk and weak. I forced myself to sit up and tried to listen to her voice. "River, please help me."She kept repeating the same words, and I knew at once that she needed help. I adjusted on the bed and tried to connect to her, but I couldn't. It would get disconnected immediately when I got her. It was beginning to frustrate me. I picked up my phone and began to pace the room. I didn't know if I should call Elara to find out if she was okay. It was a tough decision for me to mak

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWELVE RIVERI carried her in my arms and rushed out of the room. On my way out, I stumbled into someone who started me. "River," he mumbled. "Harrison?" I called out at the same time. He probably followed me down here, just to make sure that I was safe. His eyes widened as he stared at Elara. "Why is she so bloody?" He questioned. "What happened? You both fought together or?""Get the doctor to red breeder pack," I commanded. Harrison hurried out of the place while I carried Elara to the car. When we got to the car, I lay her in the back seat and took the stirring. I drove as fast as I could until I got to the pack house. I parked at the pack hospital, and Harrison came out with the doctor and a nurse. The nurse helped Harrison carry Elara into the ward and lay her in bed. My heart was racing as I watched her body being treated with so much care. The doctor walked towards the bed, and the first thing he did was lift Elara's wrist and read her pulse.

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTEENCONSTANCE "She didn't sleep in the room last night. And she was nowhere to be found this morning."It was no longer news that Oma had been missing since last night. I had sent guards out to search for her, and I also talked to a few securities in the neighboring pack. I was walking past the garden when I heard Lucy complaining to the court lady. Other maids also spoke about her absence, cursing her and saying she ran away because she was too lazy to work. "She thinks she's smart.""You all speaking evil of her after giving her a heavy task. None of you know if she fainted somewhere or something."Everyone had something to say about Oma's absence, and it was becoming scary. I was seated in the garden with my face buried in my palm, as different thoughts flew through my mind. I sighed the guards I had sent out earlier, walked towards me. I searched them with my eyes, and there was no sign of Oma. I hoped that they would have dropped her off somewhe

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FOURTEENEDWINIt's been two days now, and there was no news from the rogue. He was supposed to bring more information about the red breeder pack. I didn't care about Oma or whatever her name was. I wondered why Constance was so concerned about that particular maid. She never cared about anyone else except herself. Same Constance, who killed her family in cold blood. I finished my breakfast and left the room. I didn't want Constance to keep nagging me. "Where are you going?" She asked when I was about to leave the room. "I'd be in the garden for some air," I replied and walked away before she would say anything else. I walked into the garden and began to pace the place. My mind wandered. I needed the rogue for this operation to be a complete success. I noticed one of the guards walking towards me. I groaned inwardly, with the thoughts that he was coming to tell me about Oma. He bowed in front of me, and I raised my brow at him impatiently. "Alpha Edwin,

He pulled me into a tight hug, and I leaned in to enjoy the hug for a while before pushing him away gently. I could still feel slight pains all over my body. My vision wasn't so clear, and my head ached badly. "Thank goodness, you are awake, Elara," he said, staring at me with so much worry in his eyes. "For how long have I been unconscious? Where am I?" I asked in sudden realization, as my heart began to beat very fast. I looked around the hospital, and it seemed so familiar. It wasn't familiar from my past life but from my present. "Where am I?" I whispered as I stared deep into River's eyes. "Calm down, Elara," he told me. "I am in the red breeder pack, right?" I asked him. He nodded slowly, and I slapped my head, feeling frustrated. "Why did you have to bring me here?" I asked him. "Where else should I have taken you?" He questioned. I hissed and bit my lower lip, as

"The other day at the mall, Elara," she continued speaking. I groaned loudly and leaned backward. I shook my head after resting my back. Ella would have left immediately when I told her she was fake. I was shocked that she didn't think I expected her to leave. "What were you doing there dressed like a servant?" She asked me. "You probably left to attend to something and couldn't say hi to mom and me."I knew she saw me, so I wasn't shocked. I stayed mute. I didn't respond to her. I just stared at her blankly without uttering a word. "Where did you go? I mean. I'm sure it's not too far from here. That is why you could come back all the way here just to get something from a mall."She paused for a while. "They don't have malls around there?" She gasped. "Oops! You all must be going through hell there.""Ella, please leave," I plead

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTEEN ELARA"You just disappear from the pack like that whenever you wish? And come back whenever you feel like it!"Edwin had been scolding me for almost an hour now. Lucy had hugged me when I returned, the happiness in her voice, and on her face was evident. Constance also didn't hide her relief when she saw me. I thought it would be lighter with Edwin because I thought I knew my ex-husband. The way he boiled in rage right now and his blazing eyes. He could burn me up in them. "Do you think this is some charity organization that pays you for playing around?" He asked. "Everyone was worried sick."I knew he was neither worried nor concerned about me. He was only angry because of his selfish reasons. How would he pay a maid who isn't always on duty?"You should be very careful. You are even lucky the position is still vacant. I would have kicked you out of this place like a football.""I'm so sorry," I went on my knees and began to shed crocodile tears

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-FIVE RIVER I walked behind the soldiers with Elara in my arms. She had a glowing smile all over her face. I was smiling, too, because I was proud of Elara. She carried out her plans within a very short while, and it was successful. Constance and Edwin were moved to the pack field where they would be stoned to death. "Do you want to watch them die?" I asked her. She shook her head. "I'll only watch them get burnt," she replied. "At least, I wouldn't have to hear them screaming and calling me to forgive." I nodded in agreement with what Elara had said. "Where's Harrison?" She asked me. I turned to her. I wondered why she asked me about Harrison. "He told me what happened," she said to me. "Why didn't you let him explain?" "He stole from the pack," I informed her. "What is there to explain?" Elara slapped her forehead. "I was secretly replacing it from here," she whispered. My eyes widened. "I bet he didn't tell you t

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-FOUR CONSTANCEI was shocked about the fact that Oma called me sister, but of course, that wasn't the main issue. I shoved it aside and hurried to meet Edwin, who was still seated in his chair. "What happened here?" I asked him. He stared at me for a while. He was rolling his eyes continuously. I suspected that he was going to lose consciousness if nothing was done. I walked over to him and placed my hand around his head."Why did she call me sister? What is going on?" Edwin began to narrate his conversation with Oma to me. He told me how she was Annalise and that was why she called me sister. I scoffed. "You and I know that this is impossible, right?" I asked him. "We killed Annalise. There's no way she would be alive."Edwin was about to speak again when he finally lost consciousness. I rushed outside and called the guards to carry him to the room. I placed a wet towel on his forehead and massaged his feet until he was finally well. "Where is O

She was standing in the garden and giving out instructions to the gardeners. "Greetings to you," I greeted her. She turned around and pushed her nose when she saw me. I was aware of the fact that she disliked me. A lot of maids seemed not to like me. They had this unexplainable hatred for me. "What do you want?" She demanded. "I need to get something from the closest supermarket, " I informed her. She looked at me from my head to my toe and up to my heart again. "You can go," she replied grudgingly. "Thank you," I appreciated and walked away from her. I walked towards the gate, and everyone seemed to be keeping tabs on me. I knew I needed to act as fast as I could. I didn't want to get blown up before I even knew it. I walked out of the gate and took a cab to a pharmacy far from the pack house. I looked around the place, ma

He just kept staring into space. I didn't see Harrison this morning, and it seemed like River was worried about scenting. I shoved it aside. He was probably worried about the pack. The maids had come to report to me earlier that River had refused to eat, so I came all the way to force him. Although, I already had plans to check on my elder brother and know how he was doing. My phone began to vibrate. I dipped my hand in my pocket and brought out my phone. It was the guard I sent after Elara. I turned to River, who was still staring into space. He didn't seem to notice that I got a call, so I was relieved."I will be right back," I told River. I stood up and walked away from the room. I stood in the hallway and picked up the call. "Anything new?" I asked the guy. "Elara has a mission in this pa

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTYELARA After all the talking and hugging and all. It was finally time for Lucy and I to dress the bed and get some rest.I pulled out the blanket, and a note fell off the bed. I immediately bent down to pick up the note, and an envelope was with it. I was a little surprised. I turned to Lucy, and she raised and lifted her hands in a questioning manner. I picked up the envelope and note and placed the note on the bed first. I opened the envelope. It was a picture of Edwin and Constance pushing me into the river.I scoffed. How did this picture get here? It was a picture of when I was murdered as Annalise, and whoever took this picture and placed it on this bed today knows my true identity.Lucy moved closer to me, and I handed the picture over to her. She breathed in heavily and took it from me. She gasped when she saw the content. I picked up the paper on the bed and decided to see for myself what was written in the note. I opened it up, and my han

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-NINEEDWIN I let out a smirk after the maid walked out of my office. There was something fishy about her, and she was foolish to think that I wouldn't know. Maybe I appeared dumb to her. An alpha of a whole pack. "You can leave," I waved off my servants, and they all walked away from my office. I placed both legs on my table and leaned backward with my finger on my chin. "That stupid little rat would think that she outsmarted me."I scoffed. I knew she was hiding something. She was only using her mom's illness as an excuse to perpetrate evil, and I would expose her soon. Whatever she was planning, although I didn't know it yet I was sure that she was up to some mischief. I would kill her very soon. I'd do that before she accomplishes whatever her mission was in this pack. The door opened, and Clinton walked in with a smile all over his face. "We were victorious this time," he announced excitedly. My eyes went wide in shock. "How do you mean?"

She sighed and sat on the chair in front of me. "How are you feeling right now?" She asked me.I nodded. "I feel better."She smiled. Ella held my hands and stared at me for a while. I haven't been like that with her in a while now. I wasn't too close with Ella. I missed her when she was away, and I only got to love her from afar. We never really showed or told each other how much we loved each other. But I knew deep down that the love was there. I was also aware of the fact that Ella loved me too and that she always meant well to me. She suddenly paused and sniffed. She looked around the room and continued to sniff in. "Are y

I struggled with them for a while and stopped struggling when I realized that I wouldn't be able to free myself from their grip. Not even the doctors of the red breeder pack. I turned to River, and he gave me the "see?" Look. I smiled. I didn't think about that earlier. I was completely carried a
