Chapter Three: The Banquet 1

Long Chen left the room shortly after Fang Xinyi  went to the bathroom

Fang Xinyi freshened up and dressed up. She stood before the mirror checking herself out.

She was disturbed by a knock on the door.

"Come in."

"Madam,  one Miss Shi Weiwei is here to see you. She claims to be your friend" The maid said.

"Weiwei. Didn't I ask her not to come." She thought aloud.

"Should I ask the security guards to see her out." The maid asked.

"No, you can go. I'll come down right away." She replied.

"Yes Madam." The maid said and walked out.

"She came despite me telling her not to come. But no cause to worry, things are going to juicy." She smirks and walked out of the room.

Shi Weiwei was already sitting in the lounge patiently waiting for Xinyi staring around in awe.

"Jiang Residence is really beautiful than it is rumoured to be." She thought.

This was her actual motive for coming to  Jiang Residence. She wants to know how it looks like.

"Fang Xinyi can't be the one to enjoy all these luxuries. It has to be mine." She thought devilishly.

"Didn't I ask you to come." She heard a familiar voice say from the stairs jolting her out of her thoughts.

"I'm worried about you. That's why I came to see you. You sounded strange on the phone." She said standing up.

"Good that you're here." Xinyi said and went to sit across her.

"Madam, it's time for lunch." The maid announced.

"Ok. Go get my husband from the study." She ordered the maid. And the maid obliged

"What happened. How come you are softhearted towards him. You can't love him, he's not to be trusted. He's cruel." Weiwei said trying to plant hatred in her heart.

The old her would have believed her without hesitation. But she won't make the same mistake again.

Just as she was about to reply her, Long Chen walked in

"Miss Shi, why are you trying to  cause fight between me and my newly wedded wife. I will warn you to mind your speech." He said and walked over to Xinyi.

Weiwei's face turned green, her body shivers in fear

"Hubby, you are here." She said intentionally.

"Hubby,don't mind her. Weiwei is only looking out for me. Right??." She added looking at Shi Weiwei hooking her arms around Chen's neck.

"Yes, she's right." Weiwei said smiling, happy that Xinyi saved her but Xinyi's next words made her smile froze.

"Hubby, you should be conscious of ladies like Weiwei. They are always after others' people husbands." 

Long Chen nods and pats her head dotingly

Weiwei darkens and red from embarrassment hoping to find a hole hide in.

If glare could kill, Xinyi would have been 7feets under.

"Weiwei, I don't mean any harm. I'm only trying to advise my hubby." Xinyi said innocently

"Yes, I understand." She said forcing a smile.

"Oh, by the way. Have you had lunch??. If not,let's have lunch together." Xinyi suggested.

"No." Weiwei said excitedly thinking of another way to cause fight between the two.

They moved to the dinning room.

Long Chen sat down and presses Xinyi's shoulders making her sit in his laps. Xinyi giggles.

And the food was served and they all began eating.

Weiwei rolled her eyes seeing the two acting affectionate.

Xinyi could feel something moving underneath her, she smiled naughtily blushing.

Seeing the blush on her face, Weiwei could guess what it's going on.

"Xinyi, did you remember the time when we went out with Kang Li and you two couldn't smooching off. That day was the best day of your life, am I right.??" She  said making the atmosphere frozen.

Xinyi looked at the man behind her and saw his gloomy face.

Weiwei smiled feeling satisfied.

"And also the day when you and Kang Li was caught kissing on the camera by the principal during school hours. Mr Long, you should have been there to see her expression. That day was very funny. Hahaha." She laughed.

"What are you trying to do." Xinyi asked coldly.

"Someone should call the security guards to see Miss Shi out." Xinyi said coldly.

The maid nearby quickly ran to call the guards and they came in no time.

"Xinyi, what are you doing." Weiwei asked frighteningly looking at the guards' strict face.

"I should be the asking you that."

"What are you guys still doing." Long Chen cold voice said and Weiwei was dragged out.

"Xinyi, stop them. You can't do this to me. I'm your best friend." She yelled tearfully as she was being dragged away.

"Are you angry."Xinyi asks the man.

" Why will I be angry. " The man replies her.

"Weiwei said some things that might have hurt you."

Long Chen chuckles and said.

"That's your past. I don't have any reasons to be angry."

Xinyi smiles and stands up from his legs blushing.

"How are you going to take care of this thing." She said blushing profusely pointing at the bulge in his trousers.

"I don't know. What about you taking care of it for me." He said staring at her amusingly.

"Pervert." She mutters and Long Chen  laughs heartedly

Fang Xinyi was mesmerized by his laugh. She hasn't heard him laugh before not even in her past life thinking of which makes her sad. She believes Weiwei's words and abandoned him in her past life but she is going to make amends in this life.

"You should go and get ready." Long Chen said cutting off her thoughts.

"Get ready for what." She asked confusedly.

"The banquet. Have you forgotten that a banquet will be held tonight at the Long's mansion????." He asked her

"Oh." She mutters.

"But I have completely forgot about it and didn't prepare." She added.

"Don't worry. The makeup crew will be here very soon."

Xinyi smiles at Long Chen. 

She didn't attend the banquet in her past life causing the Long's family to lose face which caused Madam Long, Long Chen's mom to have great hatred for her.
