Chapter Four: Banquet 2

True to Long Chen's words. The makeup crew arrived shortly.

"Hello Mrs Long." Their leader said.

"Welcome." She said  as she leads the way to the guest room.

"Let's get you dressed and make you the beauty of the day." She said to Fang Xinyi.

They made her hairstyle into a bun up making her look dazzling before helping her to put on an white evening spaghetti gown showing her back making her look more like a model.

"Wow." She mutters looking into the mirror, not believing that she can look this beautiful and pretty.

"You're looking ravishing ma'am." They complimented her.

"Thanks." She blushed.

And they vacated the room.

She twirled in front of the mirror pleased with her looks.

Long Chen comes in dressed in a white tuxedo, his hair in curls making him look more handsome.

Xinyi turns back to look at Long Chen. She opens her mouth in astonishment and bewilderment.

"I know I'm handsome. Can you please close your mouth." Long Chen teases her.

She blushed in embarrassment and said.

"Who said you're handsome. You're an ugly dumpling."

Long Chen chuckles and walks towards her.

"You are looking delicious. If not for the fact that the banquet is very important, I'll have lock you up and ravish you." He whispers into her and licks her earlobe.

Fang Xinyi blushes profusely and pushed him away from her, and ran out of the room.

Long Chen smirks and followed suit walking behind her.

They arrived at the party in no time. Like they expected, they became the spotlight of the banquet.

Their presence was announced by the emcee.

"Second young master is here with his wife." 

They were immediately surrounded by the media.

 As they were surrounded by the media, a lady is standing at the corner biting her nails glaring at Fang Xinyi.

'Fang Xinyi, I'll make you pay for this. Chen Ge can only be mine.' She thought and walked away.

"Xinyi darling. Come here."  Madam Long came to her rescue dragging her away from the media. Leaving Long Chen to deal with the media.

"Phew." She sighs in relief.

"Let me introduce you to some distinguished guests." Madam Long said.

"OK, mom." She replies.

A sophisticated lady walked towards them.

"It's been a long time since we met, Madam Long." Madam Qin said.

"Madam Qin, it's nice to meet you." Madam Long said.

"Yeah, who is the pretty lady standing beside you." Madam Qin asked. Though it may sound like she's curious to know but contempt is visible in her words.

Fang Xinyi could feel that this woman doesn't like but she haven't met her before.

"She's my daughter in law." Madam Long said proudly.

"Oh, you're so pretty." Madam Qin commented holding Xinyi's hands gripping it tightly.

Xinyi's face squeezed in pains.

By the time, Madam Qin let go of her hand. Her hands has turned red.

"Excuse me. I need to use the restroom." She said and went to the restroom.

'Where is Fang Xinyi.' Long Chen mused, his mind no longer on the person whom he's having conversation with.

"Excuse me." He said when he saw her walked towards the restroom.

"No problem." The man said.

Long Chen quickened her steps hoping to catch up with her when he saw a man in black ran after her.

"What the***." He mutters and ran after them making the guests stare at him confusedly.

Fang Xinyi could feel some presence behind her  but she didn't put much thought in it.

She heard the door being locked and turns to looks at the doer.

"Kang Li." She called surprisingly not expecting to see him at the banquet.

Seeing him makes her remember her bad memories that she's trying to forget.

The image of where she was raped by many men while Kang Li watched flashes through her mind. And her anger reached a new height.

"What are you doing here." She asked him angrily.

"I'm here for you. Why didn't you pick your calls. I have been calling since. Did he seize your phone." He said.

"What are you saying." Xinyi asked confusedly..

"Let's run away from here. We can work things out." Kang Li said and grabbed her hand attempting to drag her away.

"Leave me alone." Xinyi yelled.

"What. How can I leave you alone. He's threatening you right??." He said.

"Xinyi, Xinyi." Xinyi could hear Long Chen call her from outside.

"Let go of me." She said and tried to loose Li's grip on her hand.

"I can't let you go. You are mine in the first place. So why should I let you go." He said angrily.

"I have never been yours and I'll never be." She said angrily.

Li drops her hand and said

"So you have forgotten about me after spending a night with him."

Fang Xinyi gives him a resounding slap. And simultaneously, the door was  broken down by the guards and Long Chen runs in.

"Are you okay." Long Chen asks, checking her out.

Kang Li stood fixated on the spot holding her cheek where Fang Xinyi just slapped. He couldn't believe  in his wildest dreams that Fang Xinyi could slap him

"Beat him." Long Chen ordered the guards.

"Yes, young master." They obliged.

"No, please leave him." Fang Xinyi said raising Kang Li's hope higher.

"What!!" Long Chen mutters.

"Yeah, leave him. Don't hurt him." Xinyi pleads once again.

Kang Li smirks and  stares at Chen arrogantly. And walked out of the restroom

Seeing his smirk, Long Chen could guess that he's Xinyi ex boyfriend which Shi Weiwei is talking about.

Fang Xinyi didn't know why she defended Kang Li just now. And she knew Chen is not  happy with what she did.

"Let's go." Long Chen said and helped her out of the restroom.

"What is wrong with her." Madam Long asked worriedly looking at Xinyi staying in Chen's embrace

"Nothing mom. We'll make a move right now." Long Chen said coldly and walked out of the banquet.
