Chapter 4

As his words fell, everyone in the room turned to look at the entrance.

There stood Maxim Konstantine, impeccably dressed in a tailored suit that accentuated his perfect physique.

His chiseled face featured exquisite features, with a high nose and thin lips, radiating an air of coldness and indifference that seemed to warn others to keep their distance.

Beside him was Anna Gold, elegantly dressed in a gown, her sweet smile lighting up the room.

She hurried forward, practically skipping, and affectionately linked her arm with Tatiana's. "Sister, I can't believe you're alive! That's wonderful! I've missed you so much!"

Anna quickly masked the flash of jealousy in her eyes.

Not only had Tatiana returned, but she had also become even more beautiful!

But so what? She was about to marry Maxim Konstantine. No matter how much Tatiana had changed, she couldn't take away what was rightfully hers!

Tatiana silently pulled her arm away. "Are we really that close?"

Anna's face turned red with embarrassment. She hadn't expected Tatiana to be so dismissive, biting her lip tightly.

Tatiana lifted her gaze to the man approaching her. Could it really be him?

What a small world!

Maxim stood in front of Tatiana, a strange smirk curling at the corners of his thin lips. "Do you know what the consequences are

for ruining my engagement party?"

Before Tatiana could respond, Dominic quickly chimed in, "Yeah, Tatiana, hand over the necklace to Dad! Don't delay your sister's

engagement with Maxim."

Tatiana let out a cold laugh, shaking the chain in her hand. "You two are so eager to get this necklace back. Are you feeling guilty about something?"

The guests gasped, realizing theyweren't fools. Just by observing the scene, they had already pieced together what was happening.

Caught off guard by Tatiana's merciless exposure, Dominic and Camille turned beet red with anger. "You little brat, what nonsense are you spouting!" Dominic shouted.

Seizing the moment, Dominic found an opportunity to snatch the necklace back from her!

Dominic finally let out a sigh of relief, shooting her a cold glare. "Look at how you've turned out!

Once today is over, I’m going to lay down some rules for you!"

Tatiana straightened her back and scoffed, "Sorry, but the necklace you just grabbed is a replica I made. Even if you take it, it’s useless."

"As for the real one, I've already handed it over to the police, and the murderer, Malcom, is now behind bars."

How could she have been so careless as to let him snatch the chain? It was just a game to tease them! She had come here today specifically to scare them a little.

Watching them in such a disheveled state was truly satisfying!

The crowd erupted in whispers, pointing fingers at the Gold family.

The Gold family looked as if they had just swallowed a fly, their faces twisted in anger, wishing they couldtear her apart.

Dominic trembled with rage as he stared at the chain in his hand. He had thrown caution to the wind, risking everything to get it back, only to find out it was a fake?

Sweat dripped down his forehead as he spotted Maxim and his eyes lit up. He pointed a finger at her, shouting, "You ruined the engagement party! Julian won't let you off the hook!"

Maxim was indeed the head of the most powerful family in the country, but Tatiana was no pushover either, and she wasn't afraid of him.

"If you want to throw a punch, I'm ready to fight back," she said, meeting Maxim's gaze without a hint of fear.

"You dare to speak to Maxim like that? Are you out of your mind?" Dominic yelled, pointing at Rebecca.

Although he said otherwise, Dominic's heart was bursting with joy. He couldn't wait for Tatiana to clash with Maxim! If Maxim ended up dealing with Tatiana, it would be just fine by him.

Everyone else was also worried for Tatiana.

Maxim Konstantine was notorious for his bad temper, and as the head of the most powerful family in the country, no one dared to cross him.

With Tatiana showing him such disrespect, she was likely in for a rough time.

“I'm sure you’ve heard that the last person who spoke to me that way is six feet into the ground” Maxim said in a low, dangerous tone

"Very good," Maximsaid coldly, a smirk playing on his lips.

After two years, the little bean sprout had blossomed into a young woman.

But her sharp tongue was still as relentless as ever!

Dominic, Camille , and even Anna couldn't hide their suppressed smiles.

They were curious to see how many lives Tatiana had to spare after angering Maxim!. They could still remember vividly what happened to the last person that crossed Maxim. He made sure to destroy the person and also the person's company.

Tatiana is really messing with the devil. Dominic and Camile smiled smugly because the are sure that Maxim will not spare Tatiana in at all in any way.

Anna wore a triumphant expression as she playfully shook Julian's arm, feigning a pitiful look."Maxim, what are you doing? My sister didn't mean it, please don't… She hasn't around for some time now so she didn't know today is our engagement. Please be lenient with her".

"Actually, there's something I don't understand," he said, his lips curling slightly as he reached for a stack of photos from the bodyguard and held them up. "Why has the engagement with the Cooper family shifted from Tatiana to Anna? The engagement is supposed to be with the eldest daughter not the youngest”.

With a loud slap, he tossed the stack of photos onto the table.

The guests knew very well that it was thanks to the Knight family's connections that the Gold family could even dream of a match with the Konstantine family.

Not long ago, the smug smiles on the faces of a few people vanished in an instant.
