Chapter One

CHAPTER ONE

                      AURORA'S POV

My heart was warmed by his love and I could not stop thinking about him. Although, I was way stronger and better than him at everything and was supposed to be the next Alpha of the pack, I had let go of that position so that I would be his luna. So I would fulfill my dream of always being by his side for the rest of my life.

I stared at my reflection on the mirror as I put finishing touches on my hair. It was Fredericks Alpha crowning ceremony but I had been informed they had postponed by a few hours. Suddenly, something happened that sent cold shivers down my spine.

As I was about leaving, one of our pack servants ran into my room causing me to gasp in frigh. She bent down as she took in short raspy breath, sweating profusely. 

"What's happening?" I asked, fear written all over my face.

"It's... It's F-fredrick, Aurora," she stuttered, taking in short gasps as she spoke and my heart immediately sank.

"What was wrong with my mate?" I asked her as I shivered with fear. 

"He--" she began but I didn't wait for her response as I ran out of my room, downstairs and out of my house, heading straight to the field where his ceremony was taking place. 

As I arrived the venue, I almost fainted upon seeing the sight before me. Members of my clan, the strongest clan in the whole of our pack, laid on the floor, lifeless. I looked up and saw Fredrick slaying the remaining ones with his sword while his guards prevented the others from running away. My father, Alpha Gulther, the current Alpha of the pack stood watching him with Kate, my half sister and my stepmother standing right beside him.

"Frederick!" I screamed as I walked towards Frederick. "What's happening here? What have my people done to deserve his massacre?" I asked, trying hard to believe that they had done something terrible to deserve this horrible death.

"You are no longer useful to me, Aurora, and I consider your people a potential threat to my Alphahood," Frederick replied as he removed his sword from the lifeless body of one of my clan members. I looked at him, confused. What in the name of ten devils was he talking about?

"I don't understand. What do you mean?" I asked as tears began forming in my ears. 

"Don't you get it, you fool?" He growled as he shot me a death glare. "I am rejecting you as my mate and your filthy people too. Now, I will have to eliminate every single one of you."

I was taken aback by what he said and I felt a stab through my heart. Why was he rejecting me when I had done absolutely nothing to deserve it? Just a few hours ago, he had showered me with so much love and affection that I felt our mate bond grow stronger. But now, the only thing I could feel was pain and a racing heart.

I fell to the ground as I felt my strength drain from my body as fresh tears poured down from my eyes. The man that I had loved so much to the extent that I rejected my position as the Alpha just rejected me without a single remorse. Why did he do this to me? 

Suddenly, Frederick did something strange tat caused the pain in my heart grow. He walked up to my step sister held her hand, staring into her eyes with so much love and affection.

"I announce you, Kate, as my luna. I promise to always be by your side forever and to rule this Noble pack beside you," he said passionately, exactly the same way I had dreamt him say to me today.

I could no longer hold back my outburst as my face twisted with so much hate and anger.

"Why did you do such a thing to me, Frederick," I screamed. "What have I ever done to deserve this from you?" I croaked as I broke down in tears. "You chose me at the mate-picking ceremony so why this?" I asked but Instead of being sober, he smirked at me.

"That's where you have it all wrong, Aurora," he said with a sly smile. "I have never loved you. All I wanted was to be the Alpha of this pack and you were my only potential threat." Hot tears poured down my face as I heard him say thi. I felt betrayed and deceived.

I watched as Fredrick turned to his pack witch standing beside him as tears gradually dropped from my eyes.

"Take her down, kill her wolf and make sure you don't spare an atom of it," Fredrick ordered her and I shivered hard with fear as cold shivers ran down my spine. He was about to kill my wolf even after killing every member of my clan. I got up with anger in my eyes. I wasn't going to let him kill my wolf, not without a fight. I made to advance towards him but paused as I saw Fredericks pack warriors stand beside him. I made another decision. I had to run away from that place immediately. Before I could move a single inch, I was suddenly held by a group of pack warriors. I tried hard to break free from their grip but they held me so tight I could feel my skin tear.

"I hate you, Frederick," I growled. "I fucking hate you."

"I consider that a compliment, dear," Frederick said as he snarled. 

Fredericks witch walked gradually towards me as I tried hard to break from the grips of the pack warriors. Ibmanaged to throw one to the floor and crack his neck with my foot but the others held me tight. The witch walked up to me with a wide grin, displaying her rottened, yellow stained teeth. Stretching her hands towards me, she muttered a strange spell that made me fill as though they were pulling my soul out of me. I yelled in pain as tears and sweat dropped down from my face. The excruciating pain continued for some time until I felt empty. After that, she stopped and the pack warriors let go off me, dropping me to the ground while I gasped for breath.

"Father," I whispered ask tried standing up. I felt like someone had stripped all life out of me as I gave way to tears. "Father," I called out as I looked up at my father but he behaved as though I was nothing.

"Father knew about everything right from the start. Right from our choosing you right down to the murdering of all your clan members," Kate explained.

"But why would you join in on such a plan, father?" I asked as I looked up at him with hurt in my eyes. 

"Because you'd always hated me, Aurora. Right from when I became the Alpha you never showed any sign of liking my decisions and you caused your clan to have the same hatred for me. I could not wait to do away with them. Fast forward to today, my dream has finally been realized," my father said as he shot a deadly glare at me.

"And that's not all, dear sister," Kate cut in. "We also decided to do this today right from the start. We had plotted this plan and you foolishly fell right into it because you thought you were in love," she said as she let out a deep chuckle. "How stupid of you." I was heartbroken. I couldn't believe it. I refused to believe it. It had to be a joke. There was no how my own father would do this to me. 

I turned to Fredrick, searching for comfirmation from him and as if reading my mind, he said, "all that she just said is true, Aurora. Every single bit of it." My heart sank as more tears poured down from my eyes. My love for him was now pure hatred and I felt tearing him apart.

I rushed angrily at him as hate clouded my vision. I was way more stronger than he was so he would be no match for me. I suddenly realized that I had lost my wolf before I could reached him and he pushed me away with the tip of his fingers. I fell hard to the ground and heard my arm crack as it hot the hard pavement. I held my fractured arm, glaring at Frederick. 

He yawned and said, "I am now too big to deal with you, Aurora. How about my Luna and my Witch do that for me," he said smiling as he turned to face kate.

"With pleasure," Kate said with a slight bow. She advanced towards me, kicking me hard on the stomach with so much I cried out in pain.

After kicking me to her fill, Kate stopped and said to the witch, "just end her life here." The witch smiled as she advanced towards me muttering ancient strange spells.

I suddenly felt like my body being pulled apart by an invisible force and I yelled out in pain as I twisted around on the floor.

"Yes, that is more like it!" Fredrick exclaimed as he grinned widely. He grabbed Kate who stood behind him and kissed her passionately before turning to laugh at me again. Tears fell from my eyes as I watched my body shivering from the pain of the witches spell, accompanied with hate and disgust. 

I silently prayed for me to be given another chance to take his heart out from his body with my bare hands. That was the only thought that ran through my head as my vision became blurry and their laughter faded away. I was finally going. It was time for me to join my mother wherever she was and I passed out.
