chapter 1: Reincarnation

“I wish you a smooth journey to hell.” Those were the last words Anna heard before multiple bullets were released on her as she lost consciousness.

Opening her eyes in an extremely white space, she looked ahead at the unending space before her eyes darted to another soul which was present in the space.

“Are we in heaven?” she asked her companion who squatted on the floor looking at her with uncertainty.

“You're in my body now,” Came the first word from the soul which appeared to be fading.

“How?” Anna asked in surprise and confusion. “Wasn't she supposed to be in heaven or probably hell. She had killed a lot of souls and knew it would be absurd putting her and heaven in the same sentence. How come she was in someone else's body?" she thought.

“I don't know either, but you have to promise to avenge my death and live on in place of me.” she said as her soul was almost vanishing.

“I promise, I will.” Anna said to the other party. She would have a chance to help her and also investigate the cause of her death. It was a win-win situation.

“I will pass my memories to you.” she said before she vanished completely.

Anna felt a strong pull, followed by severe pain. Before she could figure out what was happening, once again she lost consciousness.

“Oh my God! You are awake!” Anna heard a voice squealed in delight. From her cracked voice, it was obvious she had been crying.

Ignoring the woman, she pulled out the IVF connected to her hand as she dashed to the glass door staring at her reflection. She had thought she was dreaming, but it was real. She was inhabiting another body.

Anna smirked devilishly at her reflection. She was given a new chance at life, and she would make sure to get back at those who had hurt her.

She unwrapped the bandage around her head and moved to the bed as she was feeling dizzy.

“How long have I been unconscious?” she asked in a cracked voice as she stared at the woman bubbling with excitement.

“You have been here for three months. I knew you would eventually come back to me.” she responded, her tears gathering.

Anna looked at the woman who had nothing but relief and affection as she stared at her. From her memories, she recalled that she was her nanny and had been taking care of her since her mother disappeared a few weeks after her birth.

“Go and handle the discharge process.” she said as she laid on the bed. She wasn't a fan of timid people as she had been raised to be cold and ruthless.

“You should stay and ensu—-”

“Scram!” she barked out, and the innocent woman flinched out of the ward, and a doctor entered a few minutes after her exit. She knew the nanny had probably informed him about her.

She watched as the doctor slowly examined her before her mind drifted off to her unfortunate incident. She had been performing missions for the cult since she was fifteen years and never failed any of it. She knew her attack was planned as she clenched her fist in annoyance.

“I rushed down here immediately I heard you're awake.” Laura said, jotting Anna out of her thoughts.

Anna looked up, and her eyes turned cold before she conceded it. From her memories she knew she had pushed the previous occupant of the body down the school building leading to her death. She had promised to avenge her death, and she would leave no stone unturned.

“Why do you have to act so rational? Will committing suicide solve any of your worries? You know you can talk to your big sister about anything.” she said as she shook her hands, crocodile tears rolling down her cheeks.

“Great! Just great. The narrative has been changed, and she's playing the victim as always.” Anna thought as she hijacked her hand from her grip.

“I know right? You should relax because you can't escape what's coming for you.” Anna said coldly as she pushed her off her body leaving the ward.

Laura remained on the bed as her eyes bored into Anna's retreating figure. Her voice had sent shivers down her skin and she could still feel her hair raised from the venom the voice held.

Anna flagged down a taxi with her nanny hurrying behind to catch up with her footsteps as they headed home.

Alighting from the taxi, she stared at the house before her as she shook her head. “It's a pity this body is back for revenge.” she said and her nanny halted in her steps before she shrugged off her words.

“I didn't know you would be discharged today. I just informed the cook to prepare your favorite meal.” Anna heard her stepmother say immediately she stepped into the living room.

Ignoring her, she made her way to the previous occupant bedroom. Her eyes gleamed as killing intense flashes before her. Her bedroom in the cult was more presentable than this. It could easily pass off as archaic. “Just how much did the previous occupant suffer?” she thought.

She spent the next couple of hours putting the room in shape and making it look inhabiting before going to the shower.

After taking her bath, she left her room and saw the family of three seated going through some files.

Mr Knight looked up from the files before him as his eyes sized her up. “You did something as disgusting as attempting suicide. You're better off dead. Haven't you ridiculed the knight family enough?” he spoke with annoyance as he glared at her.

Anna ignored him as she made her way out banging the door noisily behind her. She walked down the busy street to the nearest spa.

Anna sat at the spa as she underwent a transformation process. The previous occupant had her hair dyed pink which she found odd and weird.

After her makeover session, she stared at her reflection in the mirror, the corner of her mouth quivering into a devilish grin.

“ANNA IS DEAD AND I WILL LIVE ON AS SONIA.” she said to herself as she had only one thought in mind ‘REVENGE.’
