16. I let out a hiss.

“I'm sorry the meeting took longer than I told you,” Rowan says as he walks into the room.

I don't have the balls to welcome his apology. He shouldn't be apologising for this little thing when I've already done something bigger.

“Henry loses it sometimes. Today's one of those days,” he says, walking to the window.

“He’d better fixed himself up,” I nag.

But I'm nervous from head to toe. When is he going to talk about what I did? Or, should I go ahead and apologise already?

He leans back on the window and I hear a soft sigh escape his mouth. “My life is hectic, Naya.”

I'm quiet. I feel there's more to that preamble.

His brows fold. “Yeah, I'm living quite the hectic life. But it's what this stage of my life calls for.”

I let out a hiss.

“I'm sorry about that.”

“Thank you, Naya. So, should I take that as a shut up?” He asks.

“No, Rowan.” I get up from the bed. “I never said that.”

“Then fucking listen when I'm talking to you,” his eyes darken.
