A SUPRISE SHOWER

Amy sat in her office, working on her computer; she had left a meeting that lasted for four hours and she was already more than exhausted.

Her friends had been acting weird all day; all four of them had canceled the lunch date they were supposed to have in the guise that something important came up.

If they didn’t want her around, they should just have the balls to say it instead of ignoring her.

She picked up the phone and dialed a number, ‘’Jane, step into my office for a minute please’’ she said into the phone and replaced the receiver.

Few minutes later, a knock sounded on her door and Jane walked into the office. ‘’Ma’am you asked to see me’’. ‘’Yes, I want to leave now, is there…’’, ‘’No no you can’t leave yet.

There’s some important work you need to do’’. Jane said hurriedly, cutting off Amy’s speech and Amy cocked her head at her.

‘’What do you mean I can’t leave? I think I’m allowed to leave when I want to’’.

‘’I know that and I didn’t mean it that way. It’s just that wh
